Well even 1 would work, but from what I see it's a global setting only, yes? Basically if I set it down to 0-1 then they blend together as expected, which makes it hard to tell them apart, I really only want to have no gap when the entire category is empty, ie you have no debuffs, as it is now, the padding is kicking lower anchored frames down, even if the top frame is 'empty'
Basically I have:
DeBuff
PetDebuff
Buff
TempEnch
All anchored together. When I have no debuffs, the stack is still pushed down by the padding, leaving a void above the buffs.
I have a feature request. If this would be easy to add in myself, maybe someone could show me how, though I have little to no LUA experience, I do have other language experience... so I wouldn't be completely lost.
As an Affliction Warlock, I am keeping up about 6-7 debuffs on the target, and when one wears off, I sometimes don't notice which one wore off, and it can take me a while before I realize I don't have a spell up any more.
I propose that we have an option so that when a buff or debuff fades away, the bar remains for a few seconds afterwards (I would prefer about 10 seconds). Maybe we could have the text change red so that I would know I really need to get that spell back up.
This would work great for my buffs also, as I don't always notice my Fel Armor going down.

too bad... but tbh, i don't need it any more as i found a nice workaround: smarty from DT
for my druid i wanted to see if
* Faerie Fire (any)
* Mangle (any)
* Rake (my own)
* Rip (my own)
is up on the target. While Smarty is a pita to configure it does exactly what i need... so EBB is now used for what it is designed: show buffs and debuffs while they last.
While i'm at it: great work Elkano, keep it up! Thanks!

I used Smarty for exactly the same purpose (as a feral druid); unfortunately Luxx isn't developing it anymore, and it doesn't detect yours/others' debuffs anymore since the API changes in 3.0.
But, I've just released alpha 0.1 of AuraHUD, which is based on Smarty but rewritten from scratch with a lot more options.
anyone who voted for my ticket on the changes to EBB... get AuraHUD for what i asked for, Elkano already said that he handles stuff different internally, so the change won't probably happen.
Elkano: keep up your fantastic work, EBB is fine as it is! You can close the ticket btw ^^
I very much love this addon however I'm having a problem. I recently reinstalled all my mods but for some reason I cannot get it to permanently hide the anchor on a bar I've created. I can click on "Show anchor" and it goes away but next time I log in it's back again. I have created a new bar exactly like the old one (It's a player buff bar but I only want temporary combat buffs to appear, i.e. Hot Streak and Now is the Time!) but every time I log back in there's the anchor again. It's a minor issue to be sure but it's slightly annoying and reminds me that I really don't know what I'm doing with this mod. :) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please make it go away! :)
@Malvenue - That usually means that the SV file isn't being written properly on logout - either that, or you're crashing out of wow a lot. *grin* Once you set it to hide the anchor, do a "/console reloadui". This will update the SV file immediately, without having to wait for a logout/quit (or a crash that would reset your mod :)).
Thank you for trying to help but all that did was bring the damned group back up on my screen with the anchor and phony buff displayed. :(
But you are right, I have been crashing out of game a lot this past month and this new patch is no different. That's why I reinstalled all my mods by deleting the WTF, Cache and Interface folders.
ElkBuffBars.lua in the C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\ACCOUNTNAME\SavedVariables directory is not read-only. Is that the file you're referring to?
If you are using XP or Vista, make sure you have full rights to the WTF folder. You may even need to make your current user the Owner. Check out the Security settings for the folder.
Also, I had some acute hard drive issues a while back and some fishy stuff would happen with my addons. It's a long shot, but it could be contributing to the problem.
I would make sure that I was using the latest Release version of the addon too.
Do you have another computer you can try setting up EBB on first? Then you could just copy the WTF file over once it's working.
You need to delete any ElkBuffBars files in your WTF folder (at least for the account in question), and you need to delete any ElkBuffBars folder in the Interface/Addons folder.
EDIT: Specifically, you need to go into WTF/Account/{ACCOUNTNAME}/SavedVariables and delete the ElkBuffBars.lua* files in there.

you could just vote for my ticket: http://www.wowace.com/projects/elkbuffbars/tickets/6-dont-let-ended-de-buffs-vanish-instantly/
I voted it up.
Hope this gets added soon!
It's not compatible with the way stuff is handled internaly.
