SpellReminder r79740 is detecting the Shaman Reincarnation spell and making a CD bar for it but it does not show up in the Detected Spell list so I can turn it off.
i do need to rethink the spell options table, but i need some more information if you dont mind. Is it specifically reincarnation you want to disable, or all cooldowns?
If it is just the cooldown of reincarnation, how would you like to specify options for it?
(Can anyone notice that I got an account recently? :P)
I've been reconfiguring spellreminder - partially because of that updating thingie.
Two minor things to report atm.
- Using Rock? (that screw icon thingie that gathers the config windows for a lot of addons), the profile part of the menu often does not show. Instead I have to use the slash command (which works).
- With anchors visible, the stack of bars starts at a slightly higher level than with them off. This is probably partially due to them growing upwards.
About your idea of grouping the spells: The big advantage I see is that it is immediately clear what is which category for the filters, so I'd go for your way.
This has to be best mod of it's kind, and I don't actually use the "reminder" part. :) The bars alone are better then anything else I've come across.
A few suggestions: (hey, we all have ideas, don't we?) :)
- Cooldowns should be managed exactly like spells. I mean, they should be detected, and we should be able to recolor them, and have custom groups, and all that stuff. Everything that we can do to spells, we should be able to do to cooldowns (including making them "inactive").
- And yeah, detecting any cooldown (including items and tradeskills) would be awesome. Combined with my first suggestion, it would be totally up to us hide unwanted cooldowns.
- We should be able to turn off reminders on a per spell (or cooldown) basis. I don't need to be reminded about every single buff or debuff, just one or two. So for me, some way to set new spells to default to "no reminder" would be nice.
My first 2 suggestions are my big wants. That last one I don't care too much about, because I have all reminders disabled. But maybe I would use them if I only got the ones I wanted. Hmmmm. :)
I have come to love SpellReminder and I rely on it quite a bit with my resto druid and my warlock. However, there is one feature I'd like to see added (or rather, that is, removed) -- I would like to be able to entirely disable text alerts. They tend to cover my castbar and other parts of my interface at awkward times.
I hope this wouldn't be a complicated feature to add. I admit that I haven't read this thread thoroughly, so perhaps this ability already exists or has been requested by others.
Either way, thanks for the great mod and keep up the good work!
I would like to be able to entirely disable text alerts.
I'm not sure if this is what I did to fix it, but I have the "Output" of SpellReminder currently set to "None". I don't have any text alerts appearing at all, for either expiring or expired effects. Try it out and see if this addresses your issue.
I'd love to be able to set this per-spell, and if this is a feature that's already built-in then can someone please let me know. :)
Hi all, just a quick heads up again as i'm heading out on a job now. I'm loving the suggestions, and have a few more of my own too i've just had a bit of writers block but feel the urge coming to blast my way through some of these ideas.
In the meanwhile for those interested, SR has been updated to work with WotLK, but sadly i've had to remove one important feature. Tooltip scanning. This means spells wich dont produce an aura will now not create a bar, but i'd like to stress this is temporary. I'll have a work around as soon as the logic in my head corrects itself.
I'll make some comments on the great suggestions a little later today.
not sure if its been mentioned [or maybe its even already implemented and i havent poked around enough] but how about default colors depending on the type of timer: cooldowns, buffs, debuffs, focus, target, self.
and allow the colors to be changed by group, and the spell coloring currently in place would override the group coloring.
between this and the trinket cooldowns that have been mentioned, this addon blows anything else out of the water. hands down.
Skimmed along for a while, and didn't see a direct answer so I figured I'd ask.
Can this mod be set up to recognize spells/abilities that might not be cast directly on a mob? Specifically, Distract and Flamestrike. I used DoTimer a long time ago to do just that, and it would display a generic timer for how long the effect lasted.
Distract was deffinately working up until a few revisions ago (i had to temporarily disable this kind of detection as something in WotLK was causing problems it will be re-enabled soon). Flamestrike is also kind of one on its own, in that this spell is never actually "sucessfully cast" according to the combat log (i havent gotten around to scanning the spellcast events yet as flamestrike is the only spell affected).
I will re enable the tooltip scanning for TBC in the next revision, this will allow you to track these spells again, WotLK testers will have to mark a specific DK spell as inactive temporarily until i find a fix for it.
On another note, tooltip scanning works for english clients only. sorry about this, but i scan the tooltips for specific word sequences which i havent had chance to localise yet (nor do i know if it is even possible due to structure of other languages).
Is there are way you can add cd for items, like trinkets? Ive been using CoolDownTimers2 for quite a while, when i found this... I love it, but i miss the cd-counter for my items :)
Mind adding it in a near future?
yep, i've made provisions for it, i just havent written the actual parser yet.
A bug and a suggestion:
BUG - when I change the scale of bar groups I have to reload the ui for the changes to take effect
SUGGESTION - seen it above but I'd like to repeat. Similar handling for CDs as there are for spells. Would be nice to be able to change color, name etc!
