One the most recent two builds I've downloaded (currently using r61807.2) the bar scale for normal was changed from 1 to 0.2 when the mod was updated.
Also, would it be possible to add an option to say that certain spells should always be visible - no matter if my target has changed. It'd make keeping shackles up a lot easier.
Talking of shackles, the addon doesn't seem to notice that a shackle has been broken, although I don't know if its possible to track that occuring.
Quick update, fonts are fixed in the next revision.

Hi Simes, not quite sure why the bar scales would have changed, it *could* be because there was a bug where the bar groups were being saved per-profile and not per char. But it shouldnt happen for future.
As for your shackle problems, you can set Shackle Undead to Persistant in the bar options to stop it from disapearing when you target a second mob of the same name. As far as shackles breaking, you can only tell if you have the shackle targetted when it breaks *or* if you mouseover the target. That said, if you turn on Persistant, then the bar will not dissapear even if you did that.
I'm rewriting the tracking system to use the new unitID introduced in 2.4 that should make things much more flexible.
I've been testing out this addon as a possible replacement for ClassTimer in my UI and the only thing I can't really get over is the lack of individual spell options when it comes to warnings.
I like to see when I have certain buffs up (weapon procs, trinkets, stuff like that) but I would really like to disable the ability for them to emphasize or generate text warnings. This may take away from the whole 'spell reminder' concept but it would certainly look a lot nicer for people who want some kind of notification when things proc, but also not spam text for abilities they can't really control.
I think I understand how 2.4 will change how debuffs are currently tracked in SpellReminder (to be more like Class Timer), but is there any plans to restructure the addon to allow for more passive buff tracking?

i'm not sure i know entirely what you are wanting, but you can infact disable all emphasis AND text warnings completely.
to disable Emphasis:
from the menu > Timer Bars > Bar groups > Normal (or any/all other groups) -> UN-tick Emphasise
(you need to do this for every group to disable all)
to disable Text Warnings:
from the menu > Output > Select: None
As for the way spellreminder tracks spells, i wont be changing to match or mimic any other addon, i wrote this addon without using any concept from other bars (i used chronometer2 for quite some time, and wrote ShoutReminder to compliment it, it since expanded to the point i just replaced it completely). So no, i wont be making it more like ClassTimer.
From a customisation stance, i've tried to make every *useful* componant completely customisable on a per-spell basis. and if per-spell is too detailed, it falls back to Group, and then to Global.
I'm not sure what you mean by passive tracking, but the spell and duration detection is 100% passive. SpellReminder uses no data-files with spell information, it acts as its own dataminer as and when you cast spells and because of this nobody ever needs to wait for an update when patch 2.3.4/5/6/7 comes out ^^. Oh yes, they changed a shaman shield again, nevermind, it will be picked up as soon as you cast it. :D
One thing that i'm slightly confused about, if you want less customisation (no emphasis, no warnings, just timers) why not just stick with ClassTimer, or change to Chronometer or NECB?
SpellReminder is exactly that, intended to remind you of things you need to do.

The scale problem hasn't reappeared which is nice, I'm guessing that it could've been a one off.
The last time I encountered this I did have the bar set to persistent; I've just re-tested against mobs of the same name and it all worked as I'd expect - shackle one mob, target another of same name, nuke it down, etc.
I'll know for sure when I had back into Kara - its been on mobs in there in which I've encountered this.
Good to know that you're updating the AddOn for 2.4 - have to wonder how many AddOns are going to die when the combat log changes then.
Yeah, its certainly going to be an interesting time! Testing on the PTR at the moment spell reminder actually still works without any code changes at all, but i realy want to make use of the new events as they're much more powerful.
I'd also like to update SR to Ace3. i made a start a few days ago, but i'm really busy at work right now.
Thanks for checking those things out for me, let me know how you get on when you next enter Kara.
Unfortunately the latest version of SpellReminder is now completely failing for me with the following message:

Trying earlier versions of SpellReminder (eg 61807.1) gave me the following error:
the latest candybar revision should have fixed this.
If you update without externals then you can just update candybar seperately.
if you update WITH externals you can grab the latest subrevision here: http://files.wowace.com/SpellReminder/SpellReminder-r62782.3.zip
i was following this mod before i took a wow break. just replaced classtimer with it and i love this mod! wanted to say thanks :D
also, not quite sure why surge had a hard time setting it up. i was able to get SR to give no warnings and only show debuffs with very little setup.
only thing i think might be nice is making the default colors for buffs,debuffs, and self spells each a different color. maybe...
debuff=red
buff=green
self=blue
or whatever colors you think would work. the orange for debuffs was nice in classtimer.
Hi, thanks for your kind words. I could perhaps allow the user to specify default colours based on bar group. then you could set it to whatever you like :)
As for Resists and misses, it should cancel the bar if a resist is detected. however if you have set Gouge to Persistant then it will show regardless of miss/resist. That said, i've certainly seen it show a bar for resisted casts before... i just cant figure out why they're not being caught.
2.4 offers some new combat events, i'll be rewriting SR to use those so it should be much more efficient.
ok, user setting default colors per bar group sounds nice. gouge is not set to persistent, so not sure why it still shows up on misses. i will have to play with it some more to see if it happens with other spells.
Love the mod, been using it for a while. How possible would it be to have some option where if I am out of a party/raid I can have it ignore buffs I give to random people?
I'd like to say that I've tried a whole host of Timer mods and I've settled on this one as it suits me very well.
However, today I logged on and discovered I've got a similar problem to Hyorinmaru on page 11. I've tried pretty much everything you have listed there with little luck.
When I type /ace list enabled, it lists spellreminder as spellreminder(standby)-1.1
Ive even deleted the mod, deleted the saved variables with no luck either.
Any suggestions you can offer would be great, as I'd hate to have to switch away from this mod after happily using it for months.

OMG, I have been trying for like an hour to fix, glad it's not just me.
I'm playing with my new toon a druid and aparently SpellReminder has trouble tracking Lifebloom, sometimes it flickers around and the bar is gone for a second and most of the time it doesn't count the right amount of lifeblooms stacked on a target :/
