Hey,
I use this add on since this morning and here what I can say about it as a mage :
- When I quickly use a spell just after its cooldown is finished, the new cooldown is not shown : actually it seems that the cooldown always finish like 0.5sec before CoolDownButtons says. It's really annoying 'cause I can't trust this addon and therefore I can't really use it :|
- Would it be possible to split in 2 or 3 the cooldown "bar" ? I often have lots of cooldowns in same time and it would be really great to have 2 bars of 6 buttons instead of 1 bar of 12 (I think I don't explain it very well *_*)
Thx ! \o/
first: should be fixed in rewrite ;)
second: added in rewrite :P
to add/fix it in the current release will cause a lot of work and/or a heavy performance loose (much more cpu usage, only for the first.)
as i mentioned in the last posts, i hope to finish it as soon as possible, but at the moment my free time is low, new guild = raids, school and the sunwell dailys :/
but i'm using each free minute to work on it or just think about the fuking configuration layout ~.~
#1 - Got this error tonight at some point. Apologies for the complete lack of specifics.
[2008/04/07 23:01:37-659-x4]: CoolDownButtons\core.lua:1236: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)
CoolDownButtons\core.lua:413: in function <Interface\AddOns\CoolDownButtons\core.lua:410>
#2 - I'm assuming you wrote the cyCircled plugin for CDB, so I'll post this here... the border color chosen in cyCircled doesn't get applied to the CDB buttons.
#3 - There's a small annoyance with item cooldown notifications. If I use Trinket A (which is currently equipped), which has a cooldown of X seconds, it puts Trinket B (which may or may not be equipped at the time) on cooldown for the duration of Item A's effect. When Trinket A's effect fades, I get a notification that Trinket B is ready; I would prefer that I did not get this notificiation if Trinket B is not equipped, since I can't use it anyway.
#4 - I've noticed that sometimes item cooldown notifications are duplicated. This seems to happen every time with my Hearthstone, but only occasionally and apparently at random with other items.

hm, weird...
do you know how to reproduce the error? i can't find a bug or something there :O

yes i worte the cyCircled plugin, but i cant understand why the border color doesnt get applied for you. i tested it with the default skins in cyCircled and for me it works without problems :/
if you are using a custom skin tell me which (and maybe where i can get it) and i'll test it.

hm, the problem is that i scan equiped items and items in your bag and add them to the list of active cooldowns, so if they dont have the same name both will be added. all i can do is avoid adding of all trinkets that are in your bag.

do you mean the announcement?
if yes, do you have the pulse effect enabled or omnicc settings?
here again, i'll require something to reproduce it :)

Here is a small preview of the new config dialog :) http://i25.tinypic.com/35n979l.jpg
I testet your addon and I like it, nice work! But is it possible to add cooldowns of a pet? As a mage I would love it to see when I can cast the pet's nova again.
The announcement, yes. I'll get "Cooldown on Hearthstone ready!" message output twice. I do have pulse effect enabled. I do not have OmniCC settings enabled. Last night I got duplicate announcements for Mangle (Bear) several times, and duplicates for Innervate once. I'm not sure what else I can provide to help you reproduce this problem... it seems totally random other than the Hearthstone.
As for the cyCircled problem, I do have a bit more detail. The default cyCircled "normal" color is white (ffffff). I have it set to gray (808080). When I log in, CoolDownButtons is using the white color. If I set the cyCircled color (even if I set it to the color it's already set to) while no CDB icons are visible, the next time something is on cooldown, it will still use white. But if I set the cyCircled color while at least one icon is visible, it changes the visible icon(s) to the correct color, and uses the correct color for the rest of the session.

that happens if i enable the announcement(using parrot), the top right is the parrot one and the one in bottom left is from CDB. ok, i'm not sure if it the same problem as yours. but if yes disable one of them and its ok [edit]
Hm fck... you said its not for all cooldowns... but i think it is the same problem like that i mentioned below.. :) [/edit]
and what i also recognized is that if i move or un/equip an item the cooldown ready announcement is fired too...
well that should be fixed in the rewrite, but to fix that in the current release would be an awesome work :/

No, they're both shown in the same place. I originally had the announcements shown in the RaidWarningFrame, but have since moved them to MSBT; both locations have shown duplicates, and they're both shown in the same place.
I think I've narrowed it down, though, to happening when the cooldown comes up inside the global cooldown. Example:
0.0s - global cooldown triggered
0.7s - cooldown ready, shows announcement
1.5s - global cooldown finished, shows announcement again
I'd just noticed the announcement showing when I unequip a trinket that's on cooldown last night. :P
The max buttons setting for the expiring cooldown does not work. On top of that, when it shows several item cooldowns at once, the buttons flicker as if trying to show several icons at the same time.
Would it be possible to display the buttons in multiple rows? I'm thinking of a setup similar to what Buffalo and Satrina's Buff Frames offer for buff icons currently.
As a functionality suggestion, I was wondering how difficult it would be to implement a 'user-created' hidden-cooldown tracking feature.
For an example: You have an item like the 'Band of the Eternal Restorer' which has a chance to give the wielder a proc with the same name. The user would specify name of the item proc, the length of the item proc, and the hidden-cooldown(typically found from forum discussion) and cooldownButtons could then display the cooldown for that proc every time it activates.
I don't really know if its a feasible idea, but it would be a nice addition to this great addon.
This mod looks like almost what I'm searching for... Here is a picture of how I'd like my "Mage Cooldown Management UI" to look:
I'm at work and have not tried your mod, but it seems it will allow for me to to most of this. I skimmed through the first few pages of the thread, and in it, you've said you refused to implement cooldown bars, or has this feature been implemented?
I think delslow misunderstanding on how the mod works, or? This isn't a bar with buttons for your trinkets/abilities, its an display of abilities that is on cooldown. For me it allows me to hide all action buttons and use CoolDownButtons to see when I can re-use important abilities/pots etc.
I actually avoided this addon because of the name (in my opinion buttons are interactable, as in you can click/press it). However, it turns out that this addon is exactly what I needed and even exceeded my expectations. I just think the "buttons" part is a bit misleading. I used the keyword "icon" in my searches and at one point even looked for cooldown bars that can have the bars removed.
Hi there, first of all, I love this mod, so thanks for the work your putting in!
Just to clarify a point people have been raising about the 'flickering' problem, it's 100% reproducible for me on two seperate computers with different UI setups using my Fire Mage.
Casting either Dragon's Breath or Cone of Cold puts both on cooldown, and while both spells have a 'preferred' position (that is, they don't jump around randomly) they do have a tendency to flicker back and forth, both in the 'normal' and 'soon' cooldown areas.
I can't screencap it (the position switch is literally over in a few milliseconds), and /run cdb() while the cooldowns are active returns the following:
Cone of Cold @ 1.72 of 10
Assgined to Button: 1/2
Position in the row: 2/2
Used in the row: soon
_________________________
Dragon's Breath @ 1.72 of 10
Assgined to Button: 2/2
Position in the row: 1/2
Used in the row: soon
Hope this helps.
Just to touch on the 'persistent flares' around active cooldowns, I noticed them lots while specced frost, especially when I had an active cooldown which I reset with Coldsnap and then immediately used again (water elemental being the main offender) but haven't seen it at all since I went back to fire.
Apologies if this is all derivative babble, and thanks again for the addon!
I have the same problem as Joanna, although while using Dragon's Breath/Cone of Cold or Blast Wave my comp locks up for about a second. Not using CDB "corrects" this.
i'm currently really busy, it's time of final exams at my school so i dont have much time to play or work on CDB.
ok, some days ago i got some hours and tried to continue work on the rewrite but i was surprised to see that i'm again not rly satisfied with it and started to rewrite the rewrite(not a full rewrite but i will require some time to finalish it)

branch rewrite bugreport:
time is not center aligned. just only the last number. with 1 digit no problem.. but with 2 digit u can see that the time is more left.
where is the grow from center option? :D
i NEED IT :D
flashing for font color dont work
font options should grey out if omnicc option is active.. even the "show time" option
the animation pulse looks bad if you see the omnicc pulse at the same time.. it is much smoother... yours stutter a littlebit
what time? :O
comming soon :P
edit: done^^
for me it works :E
is now ;P
fixed^^
