Is there a simple code snipet to change the strata level of Quartz's player casting bar? My casting bar shares the same screen real estate as my only bar (intentional), but something between Button Facade+Bartender4 causes the skin, key bindings and (reagent) counts to appear above the Quartz bar:
That's because they gave up and use macros which are zombie-spammed like my dear warlocks do with sb.
Ugh, the incessant clicking noise would get on my nerves. It was bad enough seeing a youtube with someone evidently spamming the buttons. And that's with "You can't do that right now" emotes turned off.
in the current version (r75509), my player castbar latency text seems locked to the left side of the castbar, and adjusting latency "text alignment" only seems to wiggle it around very locally, relative to the left side of the castbar.
i usually place latency text relative to the right side of my player castbar, and until recently that worked. so, behavior seems to have changed relatively recently.
before i panic and clean out my WTF and comprehensively re-install/re-configure Quartz, etc... is this something others have noticed? is it something that can be fixed?
I have a _very_ annoying problem with Quartz' Swing timer. Specifically, I swing, wait 3.6, 0 goes by and the countdown still continues into the negative territory.
I really only want the swing timer, so if there is an another mod that supports that, would anyone be so kind and give me a tip please? :)

Try LD50_abar. It might be sufficient for your needs.

Game sound lol! I had to turn it off.. hearing the Chain Heal sound endlessly for hours was driving me insane.
1) The bar texture I have chosen to use - Flat - does not seem to stick between sessions, I have to go back and manually re-choose it (though it shows it as selected) for it to take effect again. Is there a way to make Flat stick between sessions?
2) Is Quartz still being developed? If not, which casting bar mod would you all recommend?

Are you running Skinner? If so, I think the Status Bar (?) option there will take over with whatever texture was chosen in Skinner.

Not exactly, no. The original author (Nymbia) has vanished. Several other people have committed additions and fixes in his absence, but nobody has taken over as official maintainer. However, I don't see any need at all to switch to a different addon, as Quartz does everything I need, and works just fine. If it starts breaking and not getting fixed, then I might start looking around, but for the time being there's nothing wrong with it. I probably use at least two dozen addons that are no longer developed, with no ill effects.
I actually don't know any hunters who use a "swing timer" to calculate shot rotations. :P
Right here, I do!
Auto Shot on the swing timer is invaluable, macros or otherwise.
- for PvP
- for PvE, when you need to move and want to do so between Autos to maximize DPS
- for PvE as Survival
- for testing macros and rotations
- to know when Kill Command has gotten stuck and locked your Auto Shot

I suggest you /bug that clicking noise since you're in the beta so Blizzard finally adds a CVar to turn the bloody sound off.
Pretty much all of those points can be addressed by simply watching your character and/or some type of combat text. No wiggly bar required. :)
Definitely not; you're not going to be watching any animations on your character when you're huddled up with all the other ranged DPS and healers during a boss fight. Good luck even SEEING your character. Also, combat text shows when the shot hits, not when it fires off.

Yes, but the delay is consistent, so it's not that hard to figure out... but hey, if you can't play your class without a perpetually moving timer bar, go ahead and use one.

He's been on IRC quite alot lately.
Well, he hasn't touched any of his addons, so he may as well still be missing. :P

We can all play our classes without addons of any sort; there is no need for such stupid cheap remarks as that.
My point is simply that I find the swing timer extremely helpful when playing my hunter, and I think that particular feature is just as integral to the addon as the cast bar. I would not like to see it dismissed as a superfluous feature of Quartz and subsequently dropped or neglected. If you want to imply I'm a noob for that sentiment, you may as well paint all caster DPS classes with the same brush, for we all spend our boss fights watching perpetually moving timer bars.

im seeing a similar issue from live to beta. for me i cant move the latency bar from one side to the other. on live for my mage. channeled spells collapse right to left and i show latency on the left end in red on the bar. in beta rt->lt collapse but latency shows on the right side of my bar. i cant find an option to move it.
same goes for normal casting spells expecpt lt->rt setup
I just got quartz, and I really like it, the only problem I am having is the Target Casting Bar, if I have the Quartz one enabled, there's no option to "Hide Blizzard Target casting bar", so I end up with two Target Casting Bars... was just wondering if anyone had made a ''fix'' for this to include 'hide blizzard target casting bar'... thanks.

It's more pronounced with different button facade skins.
