Description
GatherMate is a very simple tracking addon for gathering professions. Its a map mod independant tracker, intended to be very lighweight, easy to use and most of all be as un-intrusive as possible. This is an alternative to Gatherer or Cartographer_<PROF>. Credits go to Kagaro, Xinhuan, Nevcairiel and Ammo. Special Thanks to Stanzilla, Elkano, kergoth for testing help. Thanks to Kaelten for the Jira setup
Features
Tracking
Herbs
Mineral Veins
Fishing Nodes
Gas Clouds
Filters for display
Tracking circle color
Icon alpha and scaling
World Map and Minimap on/off
Data Importing
Configuration can be brought up with /gathermate
Ohh Did I forget to mention, GatherMate_Data .. A full WoWHead DB including Gas Clouds and most of the fishing nodes.
We also have GatherMate_CartImport for importing your nodes from Cartographer.
If you wondered whether to try out GatherMate, and think you won't because you would lose Cartographer_Routes, then you're wrong!
Routes is a rewrite of Cartographer_Routes using Ace3 and is not dependent on any map mod or gathering module. Routes currently supports creating routes from both Cartographer and/or GatherMate data.
Because kagaro sucks, and spelt my name wrong, and attached a copy of a zip file that doesn't work and is created by Fish (Fish-created zips doesn't work on anything located in the branches), here is an attached copy of GatherMate.zip that actually works.
EDIT: My ZIP attachments has been removed, because GatherMate and its accessory addons are now available on http://files.wowace.com
something i have not yet seen done in a gathering addon is the merging of dual spawn nodes into one entry
currently if you are mining for tin and come across silver cartographer will tend to simply replace the node with the silver one. gatherer will simply put a second note on the same spot (i think haven't used it in a while)
what i suggest is that all the ore pairs tin-silver , iron-gold etc should be joined into one group if possible so that you don't get your routes screwed up :) i have had cart replace a node and routs adjusted and dint take me to that node till i mined the correct ore at that spot.
Ace3: The core Ace3 files. This is the Beta tag of Ace3, and it has officially gone Beta. If you install this (to run addons disembedded), you can config most Ace3 addons with /ace3.
GatherMate: This is the addon you are waiting for. Type /gathermate for options. There is a FAQ included right in the configuration as well, if you happen to be a noob. GatherMate is not dependent on any particular map addon.
GatherMate_Data: This comes with some precompiled data from WoWHead (for herbs and ore) and some of our own Fishing/Gas data. Importing is NOT automatic, please look in the Importing options in /gathermate.
GatherMate_Sharing: This addon allows you to transmit nodes to your GUILD as you find them, and other GatherMate users can receive them to add the node to their database. There are 1 or 2 options available in /gathermate, but its nothing fancy at the moment.
GatherMate_CartImport: This addon allows you to import your existing data from any of the 4 following modules -
Cartographer_Mining
Cartographer_Herbalism
Cartographer_ExtractGas
Cartographer_Fishing
To import data, you need to have Cartographer, the above modules, and GatherMate all active and running at the same time. Then look in the importing options in /gathermate. Importing is not automatic. Once you have imported your data, you can turn off the above modules.
Routes: This is the Ace3 standalone version of Cartographer_Routes.
- It is no longer dependant on Rock or Cartographer, or any particular map mod.
- It no longer uses any Babble libraries because they are no longer necessary. We now rely on the addons supplying us the node and zone data directly.
- It currently supports route creation from GatherMate, Cartographer and Gatherer data.
- The configuration and route creation is a lot more robust, shows more information per route, and comes with a FAQ.
- Routes now has a "node clustering" feature which allows you to take a 567 node route and collapse it into a 196 node route by taking nodes that are near each other within a user-specified radius and turning it into a single travel point.
GatherHud: This addon is an advanced version of Gatherer's hud, for those that wish to migrate from Gatherer to GatherMate and is fond of the hud feature. You can control the radius, height, width, position, angle of view, alpha, icon size/alpha, north indicators, etc. On top of this, you can optionally also show your Routes routes inside this Hud. GatherHud looks the prettiest when you take a gryphon flight on a standard flightpath.
-----------------------
Additional Notes: There is currently no importer created for importing Gatherer data into GatherMate. We might create one. I would only need to copy some code over from Routes for this.
Don't worry, I don't want to see this become a 'do everything' mod like Cart. :) But is there any chance of adding just 'treasure' (lockboxes for rogues and chests)?
I can't wait to give this a try, with or without treasure!
would like to see a fubar plug in or something for quick access to the menu
Why is this necessary? Once you configured and set it up, you shouldn't need to access the configuration again. Settings are stored per-character, so you only have to set it up once per character.

Right now, no I dont plan on adding it anytime soon. That just ends up opening a big can of worms, for more and more superfluous stuff to be tracked, icons made, translations done for very small sets of items .. like say crab traps in desolace. There are 20 - 25 traps that dont ever move.
I have uploaded a new zip (in my attachment in my original post somewhere up there) with proper localization done for all nodes in every supported locale, plus Borlox's incomplete translations. :)
So it should work in all locales now. Since the US servers are down, all the locale files are drycoded.

OK, I understand! It's not hugely important to me anyway, but I wanted to ask.

Any ideas?

One issue, I DID use Minimap Button Bag (on Ace SVN) and it borked the minimap profession icons and was not allowing them to appear on the minimap.
I disabled MBB, and poof everything works as intended.
Thank you for the mod, it is really functional and efficient and I look forward to spreading its joy in the world of Azeroth.
