Healing Received is already an "equivalent buffs" category. :p
Personally, I don't see any use whatsoever for a tracker that shows when someone has "a disorient effect". There are no abilities that depend on the target being disoriented. The only reason anyone would want to track such a debuff would be to monitor their own. Adding categories like this is just bloat, IMO.
As long as trackers for these categories are not enabled by default, I do not see any point against them. Moreover, having them ready for use is pretty handy.
If people want to track "disorient effects" on one tracker, how hard is it for them to set it up? I will always be opposed to addons being bloated up with extra code that does nothing but spare the user from the horrors of spending a few minutes configuring it.
Given how Auracle configuration works, I think we are speaking of a dozen lines that would reuse the same code as the "worthy" defaults do. That is not bloating like, by example, adding cooldown support could be.

I guess my viewpoint is that for some of these -- and I'm glad you picked on disorients in particular, because that's actually one of the better examples for this point :) -- it isn't just a few minutes of typing in names of (de)buffs that you already know. Not everyone can rattle off the name of every single ability or debuff from every class and spec that causes a disorient, and it would actually take quite some time to look them all up (I know because I've spent that time already, and I'm not even done yet). Stuns are even worse, I've got over a dozen in that list already and there are probably as many I don't know about yet.
And as Adirelle mentioned, those tactical prototypes are of greatest use in PvP, to chain CC for example. When you only have half a second to make your decision in a fast-paced PvP match, I think it'll be handy to have just one spot on the screen to look at the time remaining on any applied disorient, one right next to it for stuns, one for roots, etc. Then you'll know at a glance exactly when to drop your next CC, when not to attack the target because it'll break a CC, etc.
As for bloat, it really is pretty negligible. Each prototype will require about 8 lines of code to define one subtable in the AceOptions definition, and that's even shared by every Auracle window (instead of copied per window or re-allocated per options menu draw like a lot of addons do, it seems).
I suppose it's inevitable to just have the three text options (label, time, stacks) independently configurable. I'll put it on the list.
Glad to hear you have this on your list. My main is a warrior tank and I consider your addon one of the most vital components of my UI. I monitor the target debuffs for Thunderclap, Demoralizing Shout, and Sunder Armor. With the Sunder Armor tracker it would be great to be able to have both time remaining and number of stacks displayed simultaneously. As is, I display the number of stacks and just try to pay attention to the cooldown spiral, but sometimes its tough to know when its about to expire. Just wanted to remind you of the interest in such a feature. Great work on the addon! Thanks.

As a druid I have the same situation with infected wound (2 stacks) and lacerate (5), which is why I made it possible to have the cooldown spiral actually reflect stacks. It works well for me; I can see stacks by how much of the pie is lit up (1/5th for one lacerate, for example) and still have the cooldown displayed as text (and colored towards red as it runs out).
Separate text options are still on the list, but I'd suggest trying out the spiral-as-stacks option in the mean time. :)
Can anyone tell me how I set it up to show either improved scorch or winterchill? I basicaly want only one Icon with stacks and duration for the various debuffs, but some debuffs have different sources. Is this possible? Thanks!
Same way you configure any other multi-spell tracker:
1. /auracle config
2. Select a window in the left-hand column
3. Click the "new tracker..." entry underneath it in the left-hand column
4. Click the newly created tracker in the left-hand column
5. Click in the multi-line edit box in the right-hand panel and type "Improved Scorch" and "Winterchill" in the edit box, each on its own line
6. Click the red "Accept" button just below the edit box
7. Adjust settings as desired (such as changing the text to show stack count, etc)

Hmmm, I just set the text to stacks and the colour to duration. Works like a charm in that situation :) I refresh when the number is orange/red.
Edit: For those talking about PvP LoseControl http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info11642-LoseControl.html has a good list of debuffs you'd want to pay attention to. It basically does what Auracle does but for PvP buffs only. I keep meaning to copy them into my debuff tracker but never got round to it. Currently running boths modes at the same time instead >_>
Taleden, you may take a look at this post. The return values of UnitAura is changed on the 3.1 in a way that screws up the "track mine" and "track others'" options.

I gotta say, I'm torn on this. On the one hand, that's great information; on the other, it makes it possible to do talent scans and start filtering by talented auras (i.e. only moonkin-improved Faerie Fire). Now I have to decide if that's bloat or a feature that I'm never going to stop hearing requests for.. :)

If you do decide to add talent scanning, please make it optional (i.e. not throw errors and refuse to work if LibTalentQuery isn't available).
Request: Option to show/hide windows/trackers based on stance. IE, I play a Druid and I've love to have separate windows appear for Bear and Cat but not show up otherwise. :)

Im another feral druid requesting this feature please!
Also requesting the ablity to set the behaviour when a buff is missing for individual trackers. So I want the Savage Roar icon to be greyed out when the buff isnt present but Id like to have the icons for things like mongoose procs and Beserk to dissappear entirely rather then take up screen space. Apologies if this is already possible.

It's already possible, it's just not controlled on the tracker itself, but on its style. So go into your Tracker Styles, copy the style your Mongoose/Berserk/etc are using, change the copy to show nothing when missing, and then set your Mongoose/Berserk/etc trackers to use that new style.
