Hi, thanks for this great algorithm & addon! I would like to propose a new function to edit given routes or even create own routes. Sometimes, I just don't like many of the random results all that much, or add a short-cut here and there. If I could eventually run these edited routes through your random optimizations again, that would be incredibly awesome!
Another nice feature would be compatibility with the Carbonite map addon. Currently, routes won't show up on that map. Don't know if this is the fault of Routes or Carbonite though. edit: I just looked very closely again, and it sure seems like Carbonite displays the route after all, but just 1 pixel thick and very hard to see. None of Routes' 3 thickness sliders seems to adjust this line right there. Damn!
One more thing, would be nice to access the addon's interface through the normal game interface menu, where all other addons are listed, not having to type /routes every time.

Good evening!
1. You can already edit a route manually by clicking the "Edit Route" button somewhere in one of the tabs inside a route. The interface is exactly the same as how you would drag nodes in Google Maps. Click a "intermediate smaller node" to insert a node, right click a node to delete it.
2. You can create your own routes by creating a BARE ROUTE from the Add Route section, then editing it manually. You can then optimize this easily.
3. Currently I have no plans to support Carbonite or any external map addon, nor any future plans to do so. Routes will work on only the default UI's map (which most map addons modify without interference to Routes).
4. The default user interface's options is too small to fit Route's various options.
Using routes with the HUD mode of SexyMap has been great! I just follow the route line until I spot a node that needs my attention.
Often though, I'll have to swing around to get the node, or get in combat, or avoid combat, etc. with the result that I can't tell which way to go to continue along my route.
Can you add an option to show an arrow as part of each line segment in the route? Nothing fancy, just something to hint a consistent route direction to avoid backtracking.
I would use the TomTom waypoints arrows, but there are two issues I run into when using it. First, when in sexymap HUD mode, the arrow doesn't seem to track or advance to the next node properly. Second, if there's a particular node(s) I want to skip due to mobs, etc I can't advance the arrow past it.
Cheers,
Neevor

BTW, would it be possible to add in the required skill needed for node types when setting up the route? Right now I'd have to check elsewhere to make sure I can actually mine/herb the nodes I can add to a route when leveling a profession.
Hi. I love the add on, but seem to be having a problem with the taboo option. I created a taboo region, in eastern plaguelands, created a route, applied the taboo, clustered, optimized route, and the route runs right through the middle of the taboo. Am I misunderstanding, or should that not happen?
As far as I know a taboo region only prevents nodes inside the region from being included in the route. It will not prevent an edge from running through the region.
"avoid" is not "prevent". It will try to not cross the taboo region, but I figure this algorithm is quite complex already, and would need to be even more complex to completely circumnavigate taboos.
Having a bit of an issue with this. I do love the addon, however.
I just created a route in Mount Hyjal for Azshara's Veil after importing Gathermate2_Data data, but every time I do - no matter what options I choose - it consistently includes a huge chunk of the nodes for Stormvine in the route as well. Given there are... well, a lot of Stormvine nodes in Mount Hyjal, editing the route manually is a daunting task to say the least. Is there some way I can have it JUST give me the Azshara's Veil instead of a bunch of Stormvine in the mix, too? (After looking at it, the same happens when I create a Stormvine route as well, including Azshara's Veil as well instead of just one or the other.)
Could it be that those are shared spawn points, in that there are both an Azshara's Veil node and a Stormvine node at the same spot, with Stormvine being displayed on top? Easy way to test, delete one of those Stormvine nodes, if I'm right, an Azshara's Veil should appear below :P

No; it's including Stormvine nodes that Azshara's Veil doesn't even spawn at, in some cases (such as up by Nordrassil).
Please, help me to solve strange issue with this unique addon. Sometimes routes begin to slowly slide on the minimap when I moving. I can't catch, when and why that happens. I never saw something like that on worldmap though. It looks like scale of route is smaller than minimap scale an still tries to fit. Sorry, don't know how to explain better. :( It doesn't depend on minimap addon (usually I use Chinchilla, but tried with it turned off - issue stands). Tried to change scale on minimap - no result.
Did somebody have that issue? Is the any way to get rid of it?
That issue occurs when the world map is showing a zone other than the one you are currently in. If you open the map and look at another zone, you will see the icons slide. If an addon switches the map and does not switch it back (even if the map is not shown to you), you will see the icons slide. This happens because Routes needs the current map to match your current zone in order to calculate where things should be drawn.
I'm using the Twitch Desktop app as my mod manager. Works great accept it cannot find Routes, and when I sign in, and using the Twitch Install button on your addons page, the Twitch Desktop app comes up but nothing happens. I found and installed GatherMate2 with no issue, but the app cannot find Routes. Going straight to Curseforge.com I can find it not problem.
I am not sure if this is something that should be handled by Twitch support, so I'm leaving them a message as well.
Will probably look at this some time this week.

Quickly mark entire areas/regions as "out of bounds" or "taboo" to Routes, meaning your routes will ignore nodes in those areas and avoid cross them
And the example picture shows a route going around a taboo region.

I use latest alpha - 1.4.2-3-gf76e9a5

Will there be a classic version of the addon?
