Issue - If you have two chat windows on top of each other (vertically, edges touching) the upper window gets in the way of trying to click on the tabs for the lower window. With Prat (and IIRC default Blizz frames) this is not an issue.
Issue/Request - I don't seem to have a set main text blurb in my right-click menu, probably because I have PlayerMenu installed. I'm too used to typing in "/alt link <alt> <main>" from Prat though, so if a text command could be added (as well? in addition to?) that would rock (I type fast, efficient slash commands are my friends).
Request - Formatting control for alt names. I see "[Main][Alt]" and I have to remember which one's which (there're quite a few alt-o-holics in my guild, this takes time... lol).
Also, umpteenth ++ for non-class colored names to get their colors from chat channels. :-)
(Hopefully I didn't unintentionally repeat something, read through the whole thread before installing and testing, but only skimmed last few pages to check for duplicates.)
Would it be possible to add a feature to right click a line in chat and just copy that line as opposed to having to view the entire chat log? I know Prat has this feature and it's quite handy and fun in gchat.
Copy Chat: Right Click on a Players name would bring up a "Copy Text" option, new frame opens with the complete text for that same chat entry, including timestamps.
Disable Fading: Increase chat history on the main frame so we can scroll back X lines.
Player Names: Option to color unknown names with the channels color (instead of the default gray)
Bugs:
Player Names: Still have to track down this issue to confirm its chatter related, but at least when joining Battlegrounds, there are several /who requests done and failed.
I'd like to see credit given to the authors of the source or work that you are borrowing from, even if you rewrote the code, it was still inspired by the work of others in some cases.
Would it be possible to add options to make individual chat frames disappear when entering combat? Or maybe just let us change the parent frame, and we could use something like eepanels to give the same effect. :) Great work so far!! I look forward to seeing the progress on this mod!
I'd like to add a feature request. Could you please add a modifier for allowing different scroll speeds? Like no modifier=scroll 1 line, hold in Shift and scroll and you'd get 3 lines, hold CTRL and scroll and you'd reach the top/bottom.

Erm, that is the way it is by default...
Although I think Chatter uses Shift for total-up/total-down and Ctrl for 3-lines-at-a-time.
Don't know if this has already been posted, but here's what I'm missing in Chatter:
Per chat frame sticky channels. E.g. I have a frame for guild+officer only and when I open the chat editbox there I want it to be defaulted to /g. Typing a message to a channel there once, or every time after logging in, is fine, as long as it remembers the last used channel per frame.
Tab highlighting does not work correctly and could be enhanced. E.g. I have a chat frame for whispers and when I have ChatFrame1 active and whisper myself then the tabs appear but the wrong tab is highlighted. Additionally I'd like that every tab is highlighted, when a message is posted in it (except combat log, of course).
I'd like to lock all tabs so they are not accidentally dragged. Doing this with Blizzards settings hides the tabs, which makes it very hard to have multiple chat frames at all (since you cannot change the frame because the tab is hidden and does not appear on hovering over the frame because it is locked).
While we're at it, I'd like to change the hover color (or disable the background color change on hovering).
Hi, I'm having a problem with chat links. If enabled and I feed my pet with Feedomatic enabled I get some crazy link in chat.
"[13:19]Shortkake feeds ShortKat a [Shortkake:360Shortkake feeds ShortKat a |Hitem]. Nice kitty!"
Normally that stuff between [] is the item link of what I fed the pet with. I was last on my hunter this past weekend, now again today and it worked fine past weekend so I'm not sure when it broke. Feedomatic hasn't changed.

Can confirm this happening without Feedomatic. Only in the /e chat, although on my druid it's appearing in whispers, but only on my druid.. shammy is fine.
Great addon, has about all the features I loved from Prat.
Some tiny bugs and missing features:
General
Opening and closing any dropdown causes the game to freeze for about one second.
Channel Names
Replace name with empty string doesn't work. If you use an empty editbox for the 'Guild' chat it doesn't replace it at all. And if you use an empty editbox for 'Whisper' it generates errors:
[2008/04/24 16:13:31-2865-x2]: Chatter-1.0\Modules\ChannelNames.lua:150: attempt to concatenate field 'Whisper To' (a nil value)
Perhaps you could add a checkbox next to each editbox to enable or disable that replacement. That would remove the ambiguity of an empty editbox.
Edit: I see the case where it contains a space is treated separately, I think it should just not append the additional space then.
Timestamps
Optionally put a space behind the timestamp. Of course you could override the timestamp with "[%H:%M:%S] " (and include the space there).
Mousewheel scroll
Swap Shift and Ctrl behaviour? In Windows, holding Ctrl while pressing Home or End causes the scrolling box to go all the way up or down. The addon WIM also uses Shift for page scrolling, and Ctrl for all the way up/down.

I'd like to mention that as long as chatterbox is enabled, i get that kind of item-link display in any chat. trade/guild/officer, anything.
But only on some items. it also has done it for <invite> links in chat as well. Havent seen many people link spells lately, so cant say if that does it either.
Took me a while to realize where this was coming from, i dont change mods very often, but then i realized the only thing i've added lately was bomberbuddy or w/e its called, and this mod. Disabling chatter causes the problem to go away.
If theres any specific settings or testing that can be done to narrow what causes this, give a holler. I'm really liking chatter, but if i cant tell what people are linking very easily, then i'm going to be (sadly) forced to use something else.

Assuming i missed the following while going through 18 pages of discussion *cringe*
Feature request:
1) auto-scroll to bottom after (xx) seconds (right now i have the notification arrow pointing it out, but .. heck i am lazy. Some other chatmod did this and i <3 this feature. Did i mention i am lazy?
2) would it be possible to add some kind of filtering to the chat notification? e.g. only trigger when a raidleader, or a friend, or .. (you get the point) types the keyword

Bugs:
Prat did this. I made certain of it.
That is why you see prat's toc contain:
and each module contain headers such as
At the moment, the only addon you mention is Prat, and that just in this forum, and you do it in a negative context. I think thats tacky, sorry.
In any case. Like I said earlier - good luck with your addon.
Vague? Half the posts in here request a function "like Prat has". I used Prat for along time, appreciate the work Sylvanaar.
Thanks!

Seriuosly? Since when? :P
Guess I need to update...

Don't work for me. What I am doing wrong?
It's a feature that has been requested by a user, not a feature that actually exists in Chatter today.
