I have renamed Chatterbox to Chatter due to a naming conflict with another mod. Please update accordingly.
Due to the name change, your saved vars won't carry over. If you want them to:
1) Quit WoW
2) Rename your Chatterbox.lua saved vars file to Chatter.lua
3) In the Chatter.lua file, change ChatterboxDB to ChatterDB
4) Uninstall Chatterbox and install Chatter
5) Start WoW and be happy
Everything in that shot is from Chatterbox, even the nifty borders on the boxes.
The config:
Supports:
- Hiding buttons
- Linking items, enchants, spells, and quests in custom channels
- Custom aliases for channel names
- Coloring of player names by class or deterministic HSV formula, and player levels next to names
- Custom font and font size for your chat frames
- Custom background, border, and positioning for the edit box
- Option to let the edit box border color match the color of the channel you are typing in
- Channel colors remembered by name, rather than by number
- Scrolling your chat frames with the mouse wheel.
- Sticky channels, configurable
- Ability to copy a chat frame's contents to your clipboard
- Ability to copy URLs to your clipboard
- Ability to customize the background and border of your chat frames
- Timestamps
- A /tt command to send a tell to your target
- A module that turns the word "invite" into clickable links that let you invite the speaker.
- Highlights, both for custom keywords and when things are said in specific channels
- Chat fading toggles
- Text justification
- Autologging (Off by default)
- Alt linking
- Much larger and smaller chat frames than default
- A Groupsay (/gr) command to talk to your group, whether that's battleground, raid, or party.
- Chat Tab look-n-feel modifications
- Paging through chat tabs with the scroll wheel

But the thing is, i have it, disembedded
Question, how do i move the editbox, the module is enabled but it doesn't want to move away from the bottom of the chatframe, tried with alt as usual but no.
Feature, allow detection and renaming (like battleground to BG) of custom channels.
Edit: oh and, funny part, if i run chatterbox, whenever i try to use a macro i get the message saying Ace3 was blocked and blah blah blah reload ui and disable :)
Nono, just tried to have it at the top, but i guess it's due to the error above, which is by the way located at 2 other places.

Edit: working now, another "issue" i've found: as the option window in interface cannot be resized, you can't access all the options. long live rockconfig :)
Is there a way to have the configuration show in a standalone frame, not binded to the blizzard's UI?
Thanks though, looks like it's going to be a great addon!
Edit: Also having the same problem than Kyron when using macros, and I also got this error: Chatterbox\Modules\ChatLink.lua:30: bad argument #1 to 'gsub' (string expected, got nil)
1) I've added a "Standalone Config" button for those with sizing issues. However, I recommend installing BetterBlizzOptions to just make the Blizzard interface options pane resizable.
2) The macros thing should be fixed now.
3) This isn't the normal look - I customized the border textures and the colors it uses. You can resize the chat frames like you would normally - just put your mouse over a corner and drag. The little icon in the bottom is a "Copy from this frame" button that lets you copy text out of the frame.
Can you add a feature to make the editbox movable? That's the feature I really miss. Additionally I'm not a big fan of the fade icon for chat copying. I like the feature and the way you've set it up, but I don't want to look at that icon all the time in my chat. Can you perhaps incorporate it like prat has done, when you right click on something and it's in the menu. I'm not trying to offend you with "Add Prat Features NOW!!", it's just that I find that solution to be the best. I like chatterbox better than prat out of the box, just some small tweaks I can't get used to I'm afraid.
1. would that be possible to completely disable the mouseover alpha change of the chatframe ?
2. not that it's important at all, but, i'd like to change the sound i hear when i recieve a whisper, taken from SharedMedia, any chance ?
For the ChannelsName module, how about allowing to rename normal channels like General to Gen for example ?
Wish granted!

I'll see about it, sure.

I'll explore alternate access methods.

Would it be possible to add sound warnings when something is said in a specified channel? I heavily make use of that with the current chat mod I'm using to draw my attention to party/raid chat mid-fight.

Random question, is it in any way possible to get rid of that ugly new filter crap they added on top of the combatlog? It takes up a good 2 lines worth of space :( hehe

Everything seems to be working fine, just the disable fading, apparently it doesn't work after restarting the game.

My bad i wasn't explaining myself clearly, too early i guess. Currently there is the highlight option ok, but what i was trying to explain is a way to change the sound heard ingame when someone whisper you.

The EditBox module currently just lets you position it top/bottom of the chatframe. Would people like to see free movement?
TellTarget is tainting; I'm fixing it.
"Feature, allow detection and renaming (like battleground to BG) of custom channels." - Just forgot to register an event - this is in. :)

Just tested it and so far I like it.
One question - is this normal look of the setup?
I'm looking your SS and at the bottom right there is a drag handle, but there is none here - maybe additional addon ?
Cheers
Edit: Slaren got me by a couple of seconds ^^

/agreed!! General, Trade, Local Defense, and World Defense renaming would be sweet. :D

Or the option to just show the channel-number, which I'm used to :)
Elbereth.
I'll see about making highlights fire for a specific channel, too.
-Disable fading of old chat text
-Changing text alignment (so that it sticks to the right side)
Also having more control over the fonts, like adding borders or shadows, but that's something minor.
http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info8607-DamnCombatLog.html will move it to the tab bar of the log, but won't get rid of it. Not the best solution, but better than nothing for now.
