Hey thanks for the feedback. Also, I have read that page. It was constantly up while I was writing things.
The reason why I added the N for the first class quest accept was because, in my testing, when I tried writing it like you suggested (which believe me, I tried that first) it printed out two accept objectives for the same class, no matter whether they were dwarf or gnome. Like if the player was a warrior it would print out to accept "Simple Memorandum" as well as "Simple Rune". So, I figured the note objective would keep anyone from thinking they needed to accept another quest for some reason. If that doesn't matter then I'm fine with changing it back to what I had originally. Also, I don't think I overused notes at all though?
I'll shave off the coordinates a bit...that I will admit to, hehe. And about the guide levels...the guide itself will only take the player to level 11, so I changed it to 11 from 12. The only way it seems for the player to actually get to 12 in that zone is by grinding and I highly doubt anyone wants to do that. :P That's what I assumed each guide title meant...that the specific guide will take you through those levels and not what the zone itself limits.

Well the levels are propably gained by killing everything in the way and not passing the mobs. If you only do the quests in the guides, you'll be seriously underleveled before the next area. I noticed this same when I was writing the Ashenvale guide. I went in there like 1,5 levels early. People who know what to do usually skip the useless killings and go straight to the correct place, but the others will propably kill alot of useless mobs before they finally realize what to do.
You don't have to take coords out, you just need to add lots more details. Don't assume the user have a coord mod. And don't give coords for A and T objectives unless the NPC is off in BFE (like the horde water totem peoples).
I see what you mean, Mikma, that makes sense. Thanks for the explanation! But also, I was still curious about the class quests...is it ok if they double up like that without regards to race? Or what can be done?
Thanks for the tip, Tekkub! I did consider people without coordinates, however I probably do need to add better directions. I changed a few things earlier in the DM guide after Mikma posted but I'll go over it again to see if there's anything else I can add more clarification on.
The ghostlands guide could really use a transition point into an appropriate place in one of the other guides, rather than trying to figure out manually at which point in the barrens loop to pick up and start old world stuff.
Split the very start into two guides... one for dorfs one for gnomes. Both would progress into the main guide for the zone after the class quest.
May need to do the same in the Durotar guide?
Sounds good, how would I write it? Is there a tag for race? I just looked over the how-to wiki page again and didn't see anything specific. Let me know and I'll make the change!
I'm levelling my Troll shaman who's currently mid-40s, so I'll be doing guides starting with 44-46 in Feralas. I'll also be able to test the existing Horde guides that go from 50-55. We'll see how it goes from there onwards.
I'll be using Joana's quest order as a basis (with my own notes of course), skipping the quests that are only really soloable with a hunter or warlock.
Ok, one particular type of quest is giving me some problems, and unfortunately they're too infrequent for my usual trial-and-error approach to be useful.
Sometimes at the end of a quest chain, there's another quest with no objectives that gives you a reward. For example, "Oran's Gratitude", http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=8273
You turn in the final quest of the chain, the quest-giver has a yellow ! above their head, you right click them and the only quest options are "Complete" or "Decline"
Now, I tried using:
A Oran's Gratitude
T Oran's Gratitude
and neither of them auto-completed. Spelling was fine (copy/paste from Wowhead), it just seems to be an issue with this type of quest.
I have to commend you with this mod, it works fantastically, I used it completely to level from from 38-53. The only things that bugs me is the automatic quest tracking feature, which I see you are working on. Any chance of having any more guides added any time soon? I am now actually kind of lost trying to quest from the 54-60 instances without such a handy guide. I never really realized how much time I spent alt tabbed making sure I got all the quests completed in the fastest order. So thumbs up from me!
This isn't a FedEx quest, or at least not what I would call a FedEx quest. I've had no problem with quests of the "here's an item, take it to this guy" type.
With the quests I'm talking about, there's no separate Accept and Turn In stages to the quest. You start with no quest in your log, right click the quest giver, click complete and get your reward, all without the quest ever appearing in your log. I had a look around to see if I could find any quests that follow the same structure, and the Donation of Cloth quests appear to be the same.
The only quest-related addons I'm using are TourGuide and LightHeaded, none that would be altering the name of the quest.
Oh... it's a repeatable turn-in style. Ugh. I have no tracking in place for these because I've not seen any need... repeatables are 99% for rep, and this isn't a rep guide addon.
I'm not highly inclined to write a special case for one quest... maybe just a note in the quest turn-in before it to remember to talk to him for a reward?

I love this addon, it's completely renewed my interest in my middle-level alt as I can quest along efficiently without any faffing about. Once again I'm playing in 30minute sessions, instead of spending that thirty minutes working out what I want to do...

Thanks lots to both of you. :D

I tried nearly everything to get a pull of TourGuide from your git Repo but nothing worked.
When I do a on my shell, it just gives me this error:
Any idea of what Im doing wrong?
I can't seem to get it goin'.
I use Metamap and Alphamap. Do I need Cartographer for this to hit up the map? There are no co-ordinates or.. Anything plotted on mine right now.
But then, you would have know that had you followed the links on the first post :P
