I stumbled across this add-on with such high hopes of it being implemented in our raiding group .. and it didn't work ... I'm almost relieved it's an "after the patch" issue. So we'll keep checking for updates.
Since we(our raiding group) is unfamiliar with this add-on .. could someone please assure our tanks that the bar was, in fact, movable
"If" this add-on does what we believe think it does, it will become a prerequisite for our healers/tanks for raiding.
A HUGE "Thank you" to all the developers for their time and efforts to bring us these great add-ons.
All the bars are movable. Sadly, Shadowed has decided not to develop LibHealComm-4.0 furher, and this addon relies on that library to work. I'm still undecided about whether i should take over development of that or start from scratch (LibHealComm-5.0).
If you just want basic information, yes. But the essence of VisualHeal is to be able to determine exactly how much of the incoming heal is landing before the heal you're casting (this is the basis for the semi-automatic synchronization between healers that VisualHeal enables). The information exposed by Blizzard contains no timing information, so it is not possible to determine how much of the incoming heal is landing before yours, so the display would be quite inaccurate. Also, LibHealComm-4.0 provides info about your own heals to the local client (since it has to calculate it anyway to communicate it) so that part is also missing for VisualHeal to function. I've tried various approaches to extract this information from the Blizzard API and events, but that is not possible to do reliably, because the normal heals and hot's (and other heal effects) are mixed together and there is no reliable way to separate events that are due to new healing and events that are due to healing modifiers changing (if mortal strike is remove from a target, the incoming heal amount changes and an event is generated), let alone determining who is healing who (something that is only possible to do reliably and timely locally for the player unit).
Aye, VisualHeal is alive again! It's not exactly the same because the Blizzard API's are a little limited, so timing and source (i.e. who is healing) is missing. However, on the positive side, thanks to a complete rewrite, it is now able to show multiple outgoing heal bars - one for all the targets that are being healed at any particular time and includes support for all healing spells including hots. Enjoy!
Hi, and thanks for a kickass addon - it's great to see Visualheal back again. However, I'd like to know if it's possible to turn off visual indication for HoTs. Sometimes this feature is great, but I miss the old Visualheal where the addon bar disappeared after casting completed. I used to anchor it above my castbar but with the recent changes it just gets too spammy with multiple bars blocking the view. Simply put I'd love to see "an old skool" option in Visualheal (or at least a version where the bar disappears after a spell has been cast).
