simply because the new one has no customizable buttons. which aint too bad
cept 1) as a lock i dont need to see my felsteed(60% mount) on my mount bar
2) i like flying/regular mounts to be seperate
3) my Merciless Nether Drake is not on the bar (wasnt on the old one either but i was able to manually add it

All right, the rewrite is almost done & fairly functional but not debugged yet. Its too late right now but tomorrow I will post an alpha & get to work catching up on the new 2.4 items & remaining bugs.

I stopped using autobar since the patch; on my paladin, the only buttons that show are the ones I dont use (aura/blessings/summoned mount)... its like autobar isnt checking my bags, only my skills/talents. I have updated (using JWoWupdater - disembedded ) and have also downloaded the last version... waiting on the new version to see if it works again.
1) I am not really sure how it interacts with data from the old version. It may work or may need the old stuff to be deleted.
2) You should be able to create your own custom categories as usual.
3) You should be able to create your own buttons, either directly on the bar or in the Buttons section
4) You should be able to create your own custom bars
5) You should be able to move buttons between bars
6) The Shattered Sun daily quest items should be in your quest button
Not done:
1) Any kind of debugging / testing at all
2) Splitting Basic bar buttons into Extras bar.
3) Handling deletion of bars & buttons between characters
4) Sharing of bar positions
With those caveats, it should be fairly usable as long as u dont tread too far off the beaten path. Also, with the exception of custom categories, things changed too much to preserve old settings. Before going beta I will add migrate code for existing custom categories.

Alpha is looking nice. Logged into my mage, have a mage bar, an extra bar (empty) and my standard bar. No errors.
I decided I want to move a few items from the standard bar to the extra. I selected the extra bar and used drop list from add Button.
Selected Quest Items. The Quest is moved in the menu, but I got an error. Also the drop list for add button no longer populates with a list.

Ok, I found 1 error in the Waterfall drop down code where it shows nothing when the # of items is < the columns (3 in this case). If you add 2 or 3 custom buttons that are not placed on a bar the popup should show up. Fixed in next alpha.

Items with charges show the count rather than the charges left:
ie. I have 2 wizard oil on me, each with 5 charges, autobar shows the count as 2, rather than 10 like normal bars.
Combat Fading:
Food/Water remain "lit up" while you are in combat, where on normal bars they are faded out indicating they can't be used in combat.

Actually, yesterday, with 2 wizard oil, one with 4 charges and one with 5 (max number is 5), Autobar showed me "1". Whatever that was supposed to mean. :) Not a big deal, tho.

Rumor has it some people use "/autobar standby" to stop the mod from working, and then it does stop working. If this is your issue i would be curious if "/autobar standby" fixes it.
