You know I just realized...the way that I'm showing needed buffs with CorkFu is really very simple...its just the detached FuBar tooltip with the background and border set to completely transparent. If ZOMGBuffs could show only needed buffs in its FuBar tooltip (and no other text) then I could do the same thing with it. Nothing would show when no buffs are needed etc.
I don't deny that really all I'm looking for is an updated CorkFu (that has rangechecking ogod) :X
I appreciate your hard work here and don't mean to be a complainobot (which is a complaining robot of course). I do understand you aren't making this mod specifically for me, even though it doesn't seem like I do. So thank you!
So you're too lazy to move your mouse a little over the icon to see the buffs, or move your eyes a little to see if there's a glowy thing around the icon (remembering that it doesn't just show when buffs expire but also before it's going to expire, which can be user defined)? :P
Hmm, template changes aren't auto changing for me, made a PvP selfbuff template and set it to auto-switch upon entering a battleground and well, it didn't change ^^ same for coming out for the other one.

I don't know what you are talking about unfortunately. I have the floating icon turned off because I don't want a random icon floating around in the middle of my screen. If you mean the fubar icon, yes I can move my mouse over it to see if someone needs buffs but that doesn't really help me see when buffs are needed. I don't know about you, but my fubar is at the top of my screen, if the icon changes up there I surely won't notice it. This has nothing to do with laziness. From what I saw the floating icon was always visible, is it not supposed to be? If its not supposed to be visible all the time and is only supposed to show when I or someone else needs buffs then that would be alright and I could leave it turned on and that issue would be solved for me. That wasn't how I noticed it behaving last night however.
I guess I should've added "</sarcasm>" to the end of my previous post, heh.
I just don't see why the floating icon would be such a bad thing, it's resizable, can be positioned anywhere, shows stuff only when you mouseover it and highlights itself when someone needs buffing. How I see it, it's an all-in-one solution.
So you didn't know what I was saying, so I'll tell you. If you right click the fubar plugin, goto Display, you can find a bunch of options to change the appearance of the addon.
If you goto the Buff parts you can find the "pre-expiring" modifiers on each spell.
You and I just don't agree and thats OK. But I absolutely do NOT want a floating icon in the middle of my screen no matter how small I can make it (UNLESS it only appears when buffs are needed).
I do understand about changing the appearance of the addon, that is how I turned off the floating icon :D
I don't understand what pre-expiring modifiers has to do with anything that I'm talking about, I'm not concerned with when I'm notified about buff expiry.
I don't want a floating extraneous icon anywhere on my screen...that is more clear now yes?
Yes I know I can turn it off and have done so.
Apparently this causes me to miss some functionality of the addon.
If it turns out this isn't the buffing addon for me, thats fine. I just thought I'd give some input.
For the moment, the only functionality you'd miss by turning off the icon is the popup raid list, which works on a mouseover. This is unavoidable because of the secure nature of the icon and the raid popup.
The on screen text notice that someone needs a buff should be close enough to what you're asking for anyway I think?
As for making a list of buffs that need doing, that would just create extra work for the mod to do. You can only buff one thing at a time, so it just finds the first thing that can be done and lets you know. I can't think of any reason to scan the whole raid and tell you everything that needs doing.
I made the icon look as much like an action button as I could, so that it could be placed next to already present action bars without making it look too out of place.
For the moment, the only functionality you'd miss by turning off the icon is the popup raid list, which works on a mouseover.
I am also unable to see why I couldn't buff my groupmate yes? per this statement:
If you think it should be buffing and it's not, mouseover the floating icon. It should tell you why it's not doing anything.
...unless I also get this information from mousing over the fubar icon.
This is unavoidable because of the secure nature of the icon and the raid popup.
Is this a click-to-buff list I guess?
The on screen text notice that someone needs a buff should be close enough to what you're asking for anyway I think?
That is OK though not really what I'm looking for and I would prefer to turn it off.

I thought there was a list of needed buffs when you moused over the floating icon? Admittedly I don't know since I turned mine off :X I guess this rules out just using the fubar tooltip to see a buff list.
I made the icon look as much like an action button as I could, so that it could be placed next to already present action bars without making it look too out of place.
I did notice that, but this solution doesn't work for me.
I don't want to immediately rule this addon out. I guess I'm just averse to change, I'm so used to CorkFu. I will turn it off for now and try again in a few days, fiddle with some settings and try some different stuff. I do appreciate you taking the time to address my concerns and questions and it looks like this addon is off to a great start.
[edit] I guess what I'm trying to say is that I obviously wanted a glorified corkfu, and I thought this mod was it, but it isn't! Its its own style of buffing mod. So I'll try to stop suggesting it be more like corkfu and if I want to use it, I'll just get used to how it is :D
I wanted to test ZOMGBuffs today again and ran into this behaviour
I configured it so i buff myself with Mage Armor(self) and AI (Group).
When I logged in I had no buffs and was in no party:
Pressed G(my Keybinding) to buff me AI and then Mage Armor works so far, but if I cancel Mage Armor and then Arcane Intellect it will only buff Arcane Intellect and not Mage Armor with pressing my Keybinding, only chance to get Mage Armor again is changing some option in ZOMGBuffs or ofc buffing it manually. (Icon doesnt show missing buffs)
Then i configured it to buff Dampen Magic on the group aswell, so after a /rl it buffed me all these 3 correctly, but when i cancel all 3 after each other ZOMGBuffs will just rebuff Dampen Magic on the next Keypresses and nothing else, same as above applies to get it working again and Icon showing no missing buffs.
Cancel->Recast->Cancel->Recast works though, but Cancel->Cancel->Recast->Recast doesnt :-(
But so far really nice Addon just needs a bit polishing :D
I am also unable to see why I couldn't buff my groupmate yes? per this statement:
...unless I also get this information from mousing over the fubar icon.
Yes, currently the only place it tells you is on the floating icon. It's prolly easy to add to the fubar tip. Will take a look.
That is OK though not really what I'm looking for and I would prefer to turn it off.
And you can do that.

This is a raid list, showing all raid buff icons, (bright if missing), your buff time remaining as a bar on each member. Members highlighted if they need your attention. It's intended to provide easy rebuffing in combat since you can see what needs doing and just click them without having to find them in the raid.

heh, ok :)

Ok, found a logic hole that would make it not schedule a check if tried to check self buffs right as the global cooldown was due (within 0.1 ish secs).
Yay the warlock buffs got fixed :) You may want to add an exclusion on demon skin for consistently though, it functions just like Ice/Frost does for mages, you get demon skin first at like level 6, and it gets more or less replaced by Demon Armor in the 20s. I'm also a little puzzled why Dark Pact is listed, it is not a buff, but an activated skill that drains mana from your pet.
Edit: Auto switching for templates definately does not appear to work, at least not for selfbuffs, and not for eye of the storm, I have one template 'normal' set for 'solo' and PVP set to battleground, joined eye of the storm, no switch, switched manually, and when I got out of the bg, still no switch *shrugs*
Edit2: Played a bit on my mage, just noticed that frost armor still shows as well as ice armor, though if I read the code, I'm guessing it should disappear once ice armor is learned? Also for some reason Ice Barrier wants to recast even though it's active, if the cooldown is up. Also may want to consider a 'self only' flag for group buffs :)
I've been running this mod today to try and test it out for our raiding paladins. So far, I've been really impressed and pleased with the mod. I had problems saving updated templates last night, but you've already fixed that, which is great. I do have one suggestion, though. This morning, I went through and got all my templates configured for solo and 5-man instances. I then had my wife run my paladin through Scholomance for testing, so I had to switch auras a few times for resists. Whenever I changed my aura, though, ZOMG noticed it and classified it as a change to my self template. This was a little annoying after a while since I didn't want it to record those template changes. The same thing happened when I switched my blessing for a couple fights. Would it be possible to add in an option to turn off template updates and/or buff learning? Once I have my templates and exceptions set, I don't necessarily want the addon to automatically update them again for me.
Oh, that does remind me. I found one more bug this morning. I set one of my templates to auto-load when in a party and then joined a group. It didn't switch to the template automatically nor did it switch back to my self template when I left the group. Could you check that out? Thanks!

Ok, removing Dark Pact. Sorted out demon skin/armor.
Will check out auto switching.

Good idea one first part.

Now on to-do list.
I've been using X-perl since my history of WOW and still love it.
It would be great if font can be change since zhTW WOW font is rather ugly.
Please don't reply me on this thread and I do urge you to open a new thread for X-perl. There might be some users here just like me.
