I saw a video not too long ago using a nameplates add on (no way to know if it was threat plates, but it's the only one I can think of that does this) that changed the color of the nameplate based on threat.

Threat Plates sorta does this, but it does an outline around the nameplate. I'm wanting it to change the nameplate color itself, not just an outline. I've been playing with the settings but with no luck thus far.
