You can add any item at all to your wishlist; however, there is not currently a way to mark the source for dropped items. This would be a neat feature, though.
Yeah, seeing the source of the drop would be really helpful. Maybe tie it in with AtlasLoot (rather than creating a custom database)?
You don't need AtlasLoot to show drop sources. The user can enter the drop source manually, the way s/he already enters cost information manually. Alternatively, you could use LibPeriodicTable-3.1 data; this would also allow autopopulation of materials for crafted items. See my branch of TooltipExchange (specifically Modules/Loot.lua) for an example of how to search LibPeriodicTable-3.1, for drop locations for example.
If I could add all these item ids for the reagents to a special category (like "reagents", "crafting materials" or something like this) it could be possible to assign them (and how many of them) to each individual crafted item.

I think it'd be cool to set this up via:
Items->[item]->Add Custom->Items->Recipe->[input recipe itemid here]
Either that or just Add Custom->Recipe->[]
And have Wishlist scan the recipe's tooltip to pull the reagents for the crafting.
Hello. I got a version of this mod from "2008-04-25" but I cant add items. Do I need Ace or something to get this to work?
When I type "/wishlist items add [the link]" I?m getting "command not found. Any idea whats wrong?
Delete the version you have, and download the most recent version by hand (not through an updater). The 4/25 version was the very first version released, and since then there have been many feature additions, bug fixes, and general changes to the addon. It's also likely that the first upload (which was done by me) didn't have the svn-externals property set and so does not include the embedded libraries. In general, you never need to download a standalone "Ace2" in order to use an Ace2-based addon; all of the libraries the addon needs should be included in the addon folder itself. Once you download and install the newest version from the link above, log in and try to use it. Posting that a massively outdated version of an actively maintained addon doesn't work is silly! :P
I've been reading through the posts, but correct me if I'm wrong, because I've found no way to do it. I see the functionality of this mod as rep/pvp rewards only, and as such, as of now, it is impossible to add a tradeskill item, and set the quantity you want to achieve and track that across ALL characters on a server?
If that is the case, can anyone recommend an addon that can do that?
so i'm thinking that some interaction between this mod and my gnomish yellow pages mod would be super swell. the idea being that you could add trade skills to your wish list -- like "enchant boots - surefooted" (which would in turn add the reagents needed).
i suppose the logical extension would be to then add a shopping aspect to buy anything from vendors that appears in your wishlist (with an optional "quota" setting to make repeated purchase when running low a la freerefills). plus it could do some auction scanning stuff (as simple as letting you click to search or as complex as notifying when you happen across an item you want).
in terms of integration with gyp, my goal is to have a notifier when somebody advertises something you want -- like "ubermage is selling enchant boots - surefooted in ironforge" popping on your screen.
i'd rather integrate with an established mod than write a whole new feature set, tho i might add a simple version for people who don't have wishlist installed.
Another fantastic addon going by the wayside?
A month till Cata is out and no word from you at all, and no addon that even comes close to this anywhere.
I hate when this happens.

I'll look into it :)
First need to add reagent support
Working on workaround so you can at least remove them.

And it's done! You can now add any item as requirement item.
First add the item using "/wl requirements items add [link]" then the item will show up in the items list used for items.
The normal add item shortcut has been changed to "/wl add [link]"
Updated factions/items to WotLK
Any plans on moving Wishlist over to LibDataBroker?
