I realise that, but there are times when I'd want to compare an enchanted item to an unenchanted item such as currently in beta, I don't always have access to scopes or other enchant mats so it's useful to compare to see what the differences are.
Which is why the "Ignore Enchants" option exists -- when it's enabled, as it is by default, the comparison assumes that both items have the same enchant (or no enchant) and does not factor the enchant into the differences between the items.

Sorry I meant I wanted to compare the items to see if the unenchanted item is better than the enchanted item. I know all about ignore enchants/gems etc.
Like I said I'm in beta, sometimes I need to compare my current enchanted/gemmed items to dungen/raid drops in beta and I don't always have the enchant mats/people to do the enchant on beta, so I like to see if the new item is an upgrade compared to my enchanted/gemmed item.
Found another bug, rings aren't showing their armor penetration rating in the stat summery, it's working fine for other armor slots it seems.
e.g
It's working on other items though.
I'm guessing it's the word "your" in the description?
Because, sometimes, you are using item A. Your goal is to get item C (some badge reward), but along the way you pick up item B. You want to see if item B is better than A, but not waste money on enchanting/gemming item B, because you are going to replace it with C soon.
I've never done that... I guess I just don't have any trouble doing simple arithmetic to subtract the effect of gems or add the effect of an enchant, although I can't think of a time I've ever intended to use an item without enchanting or gemming it. /shrug
Noticed a small bug, using the gem auto fill if I remove the gems it will continue to show the gem text in empty sockets. My saved variables look like the following.
RatingBusterDB = {
["profiles"] = {
["class/Hunter"] = {
["sumGemBlue"] = {
["gemText"] = "+5 Agility and +7 Stamina",
},
["sumGemYellow"] = {
["gemText"] = "+5 Critical Strike Rating and +10 Attack Power",
},
["sumGemMeta"] = {
["gemText"] = "+12 Agility & 3% Increased Critical Damage|r\n |cffffffffRequires at least 2 Red gems|r\n |cffffffffRequires at least 2 Yellow gems|r\n |cffffffffRequires at least 2 Blue gems",
},
["sumHP"] = false,
["sumShowIcon"] = false,
["sumIgnoreArmor"] = true,
["sumIgnoreEquipped"] = true,
["enableTextColor"] = false,
["sumMP"] = false,
["sumMP5"] = false,
["sumResilience"] = false,
["sumGemRed"] = {
["gemText"] = "+10 Agility",
},
},
The current beta of RatingBuster will work in both TBC and WotLK, it will select the correct set of formula/talent/buff info to use with version checking.

are there any flags to show damage reduction from resistances? i know it depends on level, but you could just assume the same level. so if i have +xx shadow resist, it'd be nice to see just what reduction that would equate to.

Such info is displayed in TankPoints which will sadly break at least partially coming patch.
Aliset half-adopted / half-hijacked maintainance (only Whitetooth knows which one it was)
during a period of long-inactivity from Whitetooth (which was known and expected nonetheless)
but the addon has been in limbo since.
It's in a mostly good working state but feels even less "maintained" than before it was unofficially adopted.
I'm still hoping Whitetooth will take care of it for the coming patch, been a staple addon
in my tanking/wow life for years.

I've been lazy about TankPoints mainly because RatingBuster was taking up most of my hobby time, and partially because I switch from Warrior main to a Warlock main when Burning Crusade was released.
The underlying code of TankPoints wasn't very clean, I want to do better when I have a chance. I know the current state of TankPoints on wotlk is broken, and will try to fix it before next patch.
hmm... i don't think i need any other feature of tankpoints and it seems ratingbuster does all the calculations for pretty much everything else (cept maybe damage reduction from armor). wouldn't it make sense to add it to ratingbuster for completeness?
Fixed, r81712.

r81720: Added Ranged Hit Chance, Ranged Hit Rating, Ranged Haste, Ranged Haste Rating
Why would you want to do that? /confused
