You can already do that. Click on the name of the template once you have it selected - the green text at the top - and it will allow you to change the name. Once you've changed it, press enter to save the name. :)

Ya, I never got why when deleting a template you get sent back out of template mode.?
Because that's the easiest way to get a consistent behaviour without violating internal assumptions. Yes, that's a convoluted way of saying "because I'm lazy" :-)
I changed this so that Talented will select another template if one is available and only leave template mode when none exists.
I also added a tooltip to the template name Edit box, because its usage is less obvious than I imagined it would be.

hello, id first like to say thank you for the great work on this mod. ive been using if for some time now and its been incredibly useful. so cheers.
there are some feature additions ive been think about though. im not sure how easy they would be to implement though. thats more your field really. but i was wondering if it was possible if some kind of custom categorisation system for templates could be added. since i have quite a lot of specs loaded for various alts it get a bit confusing, and it would be nice to have a few some menus in the template list. I.e at the moment it looks like this for me...
but i would love to make it something like this... (thank you mspaint :-D )
and maybe a few sub menus e.g.[Paladin specs]>[heal specs], [retri specs]. etc, just to make it a bit easier viewing.
also it would be cool if when you go from a template to the normal view, if your playing a character of the same class as the last selected template, that the last template would be shown kind of shadowed in the background, so when im levelling an alt or if I were to respec before 70 (so i cant apply a template yet), i could follow a spec i had planned.
that way i could see my plan without going back and forth. though i know nothing of coding so not sure how easily all this could be accomplished
either way, cheers again for all the work mate, very much appreciated.

This is already in. When in template mode, you can select a template from your current class as a "target", and it will be shown in normal mode.
I made a separate post on my request but I will add it up here.
Is it ok to have my stats show up with the template editor? I wanna know how will my stats change as I change my talent tree. This will be one awesome addition if you could. I know nothing about scripting so I am just here requesting stuff. Thanks for your hard work.
With the recent patch (2.4.2) Talented has broken. It doesn't have the "updated" version of the Talented_Data module. It was updated after the patch, but it still does not load up properly. Just thought I would report this. It comes up with some thing like this: "Talented_Data was intended for build '2.4.1 - 8125 - Mar 28 2008' but current build is '2.4.2 - 8785 - May 1 2008 - 20400'". Or at least some thing similar to that.
Please respond ASAP, I love this addon, and I want to use it for its full range of features! :(
You know what I need for Talented ? I need someone with a good understanding of the addon and a perfect english to rewrite all enUS strings so that they are explicit.
I'm on a european server, so I'll only be able to update Talented_Data when the patch is available. I'll update Talented_Data later today when I'm home and I can login into the game.
Here's the enUS.lua file. Plenty are just fine the way they as is. A couple of the options, though, I don't believe I've seen before, and wasn't quite sure if they were clear or not. :P (Like options for template colors.) Unless I'm blind and just aren't seeing them... ;)

Thanks a lot. The options for color are related to the Prat module, and correspond to the color of the talent "link" as it appears in chat.
Sometimes things can be so easy :/
Thanks for this invaluable hint :)

That seems more like how it should work. :)

do you think that the categorisation thing might something that you might want to / would be easy to implement then?
cheers for the great work.
eg
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warlock/talents.html?tal=5502022012234105510010300000000000000000000505000410200000000000
Gets "invalid URL" in Talented. Am I doing something wrong?

Yes. Just replacing:
to:
where "bar" is better/proper/easier to understand than "foo" would suffice, at first. I'll do the replacement in the code myself.
