I will be implementing calculations for druid forms soon, but not quite so soon yet. Druid forms are somewhat special in this regards and require extra handling. :)
Also, no one has quite complained or even noticed how I left out mana and hp regen out of the calculations yet, as those are very complicated.
Astaldo's described method is indeed the official way to do it.
Other possible methods of achieving the same thing include:
A. Target yourself, type /inspect, and in the inspect pane that appears, click the WoWEquip button (which copies the target).
B. Bind a key in your keybindings to "inspect and copy target" into wowequip, target yourself and press that keybind. This is kinda useful to regularly inspect people's gear in WoWEquip, over the standard inspect.
Hello Xinhuan.
I have seen WoWEquip's calculations to be wrong a few times.
Most critical conserning Defense Rating, and +hit and +spell hit rating.
I do not have any concrete case, how ever i've seen hit and defense rating being lower "live" than in the "Derived Stats" pane several times.
I'm running a enGB client, so localisation shouldn't be the issue.
I just wanna know if if WoWEquip or ItemBonusLib-1.0 is trustworthy now.
As after needing and buying items on your WoWEquip "wishlist" using DKP or money, you could end up in quite a pain if you actually ain't hitcapeed or uncrittable, having to replace gems and enchant's which could end up in that it would have been much more effective to use another item, and therefore WoWEquip kind of lost it's purpose :<
Thanks in advance, and thanks for this essential addon!
Hi Yves, all item stats calculations are performed by ItemBonusLib-1.0, actively maintained by Jerry (the top half, equipment stat). The derived stats parts are done by me, and the formula could possibly be wrong somewhere. I cannot really help you until you have a concrete case/example.
Keep in mind that the Derived Stats pane does not include your "base character white stats", and just gives you data as-is from the gear and gear alone. If you have buffs or otherwise that increase your stats, these are also reflected in your character pane and these are not included in WoWEquip.
If the formulas are wrong somewhere, you will need to supply an example so that I can look into it. Ensure that the stats from the "Equipment Stats" at the top are correct first.

Hello harmful,
I am unable to reproduce your issue. I logged in WoW, opened WoWEquip, set the weapons/offhand/ranged to
King's Defender
Shield of Impenetrable Darkness
Gyro-Balanced Khorium Destroyer
Then clicked on the arrow to open the dressing room. And it displays fine for me:
There is a issue general to the Dressing Room though. When trying to equip an item to the Dressing Room, WoW always assumes a one-handed weapon to be equipped to the Main Hand. There is no method to specify it to be in the offhand.
When WoWEquip sends all the items to the dressing room one by one to be equipped, the last weapon sent in gets shown. WoWEquip forces the last item sent in to the Dressing Room to be the Main hand weapon if it exists, else it is the Offhand weapon if it exists, else it is the ranged weapon. The rest are sent in for display in an arbitrary undefined order.
If WoW is displaying the one-handed weapons as dual-wielding them, then it would be a WoW bug, since there is no method for an addon to tell the dressing room to try on a weapon as an offhand.
Even though you play a dirty gnome (on my server even!) I still think you're awesome. Do you never sleep?
Anyway, I have a request for WoWEquip. Currently, I have to wade through lists of billions of gems to fill in slots, and if I later want to see how swapping from, say, Luminous Pyrestones to Dazzling Seaspray Emeralds would affect my total stats, I have to wade through the lists again for each item. Two things would help with this:
(1) Default gems. If I equip a new item in WoWEquip, it should fill in empty sockets with the gems I've specified as defaults.
(2) Mass gem swap. Would let me change all of gem X to gem Y, or overwrite all yellow sockets with gem Z.
#2 would be just convenient, but probably more work than it's worth. #1 though... would be nice. :P
I would like to set a reset option which removes all items you have equipped and re-equips your currently equipped gear. I find it time consuming when you have equipped multiple new items but then want to change some of them and have the rest as your normal gear set to have to unequipped all the gear you changed, re-equip your current gear and its gems, enchants/patch's then equip the new items else where and gem, enchant/patch it.
If WoW is displaying the one-handed weapons as dual-wielding them, then it would be a WoW bug, since there is no method for an addon to tell the dressing room to try on a weapon as an offhand.
Yes there is a general wow bug here, but there is a simply workaround - make sure you send the offhand item after you send the main hand item (and make sure you send it, even if it's the currently equipped shield.) I can consistently get this bug to repro with a shield, the only way to fix it is to get the shield info resent by changing the shield (or the enchant on the shield) in the wowequip pane.
Also some unrelated feedback:
I'd really love to see you add calculations for weapon expertise to the listed set of stats. Otherwise this is far less useful for me on my tank (I'd love to be able to do things like compare my threat set to my max mitigation set to my Illidan tanking set to be able to better see precisely what trade-offs I'm making, today I do this all manually and until weapon expertise is included I'll still have to do it manually.)
In addition you aren't currently covering shield mastery (a protection warrior talent 3 points, each point increases block value by 10%, thus 300 block value with 3/3 shield mastery becomes 330 block value) and I'd assume the same applies to the protection paladin equivalent talent (shield specialization, in their protection tree, also 3 points and 10% per point.) This is a far more minor issue than the lack of weapon expertise as a tracked stat.)
I'd also like to suggest you change from "Threat reduction" to "Threat" (the inverse) this is much more intuitive for say a tank (where -2% threat reduction is slightly odd feeling, while -2% threat I feel is just as intuitive as dps as is 2% threat reduction)
Finally it'd be nice to have an option to reset WoWEquip to my currently equipped gear. I realize this is functionally equivalent to targetting myself and clicking "Copy Target", but I don't think that it's intuitive to most people, and I suspect many users will want to use their gear mods (like closetgnome) to swap to different gear sets and save them as profiles (for example to take their dps set, then make a "ideal" dps set which includes the upgrades they still are after, building a boss set vs a trash set with the variation in required hit etc.)
Even though you play a dirty gnome (on my server even!) I still think you're awesome. Do you never sleep?
Clearly, I don't sleep. That is why my gnome has 504 days /played (on a single character). I haven't found anyone with a higher number. (Who are you on my server??)

Will probably add this one, or reorganize the gem selection method.

I can't do this, at least, for offhand weapons that are one-handed, because if your offhand is a one-handed weapon, sending it into the dressing room would overwrite the main-hand weapon. And if the item isn't isn't a one-hand weapon, then it was already sent in and the main-hand weapon doesn't overwrite it.

Expertise reduces the chances your target will dodge and parry your attacks. This has nothing to do with your hit chance (which reduces the mob's chance to miss) or your chance to parry, hence it isn't calculated. Expertise is still shown in the "Equipment Stats" section, which you can toggle with the % button neat the top to show the actual % the rating is worth. They are essentially stats that do different things.
Or are you talking about something else?

Yeah - this was my mistake - I realize now that you only show expertise as a listed stat when it's non-zero either in the set being compared to or in the set being displayed by wowequip.) When I didn't see the stat listed I mereely assumed you didn't support it, sorry for the confusion.

504 days?! I'm only at 243. :(
I'm Bherasha, a sexy female orc (see avatar!). I saw you outside the Scryer bank the other day, but you were AFK. Probably tabbed out working on some addons.
Indeed Bherasha, I usually AFK in Ironforge as it is much more bearable than Shattrath City with 10x as much people, but Shattrath City is a bit more convenient to fly out and test GatherMate/Routes stuff.
I was just curious whether or not you had any future plans for expanding the talents options. I play a warrior and currently talents like Defiance, and Shield Specialization don't get calculated. Great Mod tho it's been extremely useful. I'm looking forward to seeing what else you've got in store for it.
I have made a total re installation of addon via WAU yesterday in "no embedded mode", WoWequip failed to load because it can't find a instance of ItembonusLib-1.0. Using the Packaged version on files.wowace.com works fine. Any clue ?

Excuse me if this is a stupid question, I couln't figure out how to do it.
How can I reset the gear set to the one I am wearing right now?
Thank you!

I'm thinking this is a bug, but we'll see if other can reproduce it, Currently on a 70 warrior.
Choose your main hand weapon as King's Defender, then the off hand, Shield of Impenetrable Darkness.
Now click on the arrow to show a dressing room of your character, it shows you duel wielding king's defender
