Hi, I'd really like to use this addon, but I could not find an option to move it away from the center. I use dual-monitors with game rendering on the left monitor and a place to put other stuff like raidframes and the map on the right monitor. The only positioning option is from the center and I can only have player info on the left monitor and target info on the right.
I would like to request an option to move OSH away from the center of the screen. Thanks.
While I certainly understand why you would want this, an option to anchor the frames somewhere else won't make it in. Adding more options for anchoring to other points would be far too much bulk for the very small minority using a dual monitor setup. You can always edit the Lua to place the frames somewhere else.
ah, i figured i may have to delve into the Lua. I wish i knew how to do it myself, but alas I have no clue how to read and understand lua, but I do know how to delete+copy+paste in wordpad. how would i go about moving the anchor from center (let's call it 50%) to say the middle of my left screen(which would be 25%)?
Alignment option is in in my local copy, but I'm still working out some bugs with custom text formats and some other stuff I thought would be a good idea to add all at once. If I remember I'll pull out the alignment option and drop it into the SVN version, since it isn't giving me any trouble. :P
Just wanted to post an update. I've been very busy lately, working 40+ hours a week, raiding 30+ hours a week, maintaining my guild's website, and finding time to sleep, so I've had essentially zero time to work on my addon projects. While I will continue to support OnScreenHealth, development is going to be very slow, indefinitely.
I just emailed myself a reminder to fix the things I've promised to fix in my last two posts (typo error when attempting to disable combo point display, and outside alignment) so hopefully I'll actually get those done tonight. No SVN access from work. >_<
Found an SVN client that runs without installation! I don't like it very well, but it works, and I probably won't have time or even remember to do it once I get home, so here it is. Drycoded, let me know if I broke it. :P
DogTag has already been suggested and declined (see this post). A very large portion of what DogTag has to offer is above and beyond the needs of a simple addon like OnScreenHealth, and including a library that's over three times the size of the base addon when only 1/10th of it is relevant to the addon is something I will never do.
I tend to agree with Phanx on this... the mod does exactly what I want and adding all kinds of other ways to display what is essentially supposed to be "emergency" text is just overkill. Isn't that why we have unit frames?
If you are looking for a way to display DogTag strings on your screen, you might check out CRT DogTagged.
