Is there a possibility of implementing an external "Default/Basic" font pack? This way, those of us who use a custom pack can prevent all the "default" packs/fonts from loading.
For example, have the initial/default font pack/design use the game's normal fonts and references. Then have a separate "Basic/Default" font pack that can be enabled/disabled. The fonts included in that pack could be based on popular demand via a poll or something.
New problem, the selection doe snot override my chat window (using Prat) i tried to delete the Prat saved vars but no change, so now i have great fornt on addons and stuff but a unreadable on on the chat... :/
I've been playing around with the "custom" fonts pack idea and while its intentions are good, it still leaves a lot to be desired. For example, I want my chat font different from the rest (most fonts are horrible as chat font). But it's limited to specific styles.
I guess I should just ask: Is it still possible to customize the fonts by placing a modified copy of Fonts.xml, etc into the appropriate folders? It seems this is my only option to really do it the way I want to.
Edit: I tried the method above and apparently you can't do it that way anymore. :( How does one go about customizing the fonts on their own? I know a little about XML/LUA, but not tons. If I knew more, I'd write an add on that would do what I wanted. >.<
Well, I seem to be having the same problem as those above, where my Chat font is not changing when I switch fonts. It changes in the edit box, but not the chat frames themselves. The difference is: I'm NOT using Pray or any other chat mod. :/
I've tried resetting/adjusting it with ChatFontNormal:SetFont(); but that doesn't affect it, either. Something goofy is going on. :(
Yeah, it does change after a reload. But for some reason, it's nowhere near as smooth. Also, with a clean install, I could type /script ChatFontNormal:SetFont("path..", 14); and it would change dynamically. Something's buggering it up because now it won't change it all. Even with CF2 disabled.
Anyhow... I managed create a nice little font pack with Myriad Condensed (best font evar!) and it looks pretty good! :) I just wish I had something that matches for the number fonts. It took me forever to find something to convert the OTF fonts to TTF. For some lame reason, WoW won't read them as OTF. :/
