just wanted to ask, as of like the last few days I noticed that whenever I loot a item the toom tip looks diffrent from the rest of the time I have tool tips. I think it started when I picked up the new kci_items but I am sure anyone else notice this?
Is there any DogTag to output information from another mod. I'm talking about BEQL which modifies the tooltip to show if that mob or item is part of a quest you currently are on. It does not however modify CowTip.
I'm still looking forward for a fix for the world object tooltip, which doesn't immediate hide although the option is checked. It disappears a few seconds (2 seconds to be more correct) after your mouse leaves the world object (corpses, braziers...)
I'm having an issue with tekKompare. The tooltip of the item I'm wearing looks like this (the one on the right):
When I turn of Cowtip the border is fine.
Oh yeah, I keep forgetting to take a screenshot of that... ;) It does the same if you try using custom borders from SharedMedia/MyMedia. It seems as if it's drawing the border vertically instead of horizontally. (Whatever the correct terminology is. ;) )
I just switched to CowTip today and havent read all 16 pages, so I apologize in advance if this bug has already been reported.
I have Fade enabled with the fade set to Immediate for all 4 frame types (seems that if the Fade feature is disabled entirely, it simply disables the fade controls, yet fades anyway which is undesirable).
The problem lies with targetting World Objects (such as a Brazier). When Fade is set to instant, the tooltip still sticks to your cursor for several seconds after you mouse away from the object, then abruptly disappears. With fade enabled the behavior is the same, it just simply has a smooth fade to it. I think the intention was for it to work like the rest, disappearing immediately after mousing off of the object (which is what I would like it to do).
Silvio, it's impossible. Feel free to thank Blizzard.
I point this specific problem out because its a problem that i never had with Tinytip. Why do I only experience it with CowTip?
EDIT: If this has something to do with custom tooltip on World Object only, I'd almost rather just disable custom tooltips on World Objects. As I said, never had this problem with TinyTip which I've been running forever.
I'm using this one and it's great, two things tho:
1) When someone is on my party but it's not near (or in some instance I'm not) hovering the mouse on it's unitframe shows the character name duplicated on the tooltip, like "NameName". When the unit is near, it works ok.
2) If there's a way to check distance, can I show the area of the unit only if it's different than mine?
The reason I ask is that this texture kinda looks like that top and bottom garbage on the tooltips in those pics.
I can verify that the odd borders on tekKompare tooltips occur without Skinner installed.
To reproduce it, just run tekKompare and set CowTip to use a border texture, and mouseover some equippable items - I noticed it most with links in chat. I did see it work correctly the first time after a login, moved my mouse away, and then the border was screwy every time I checked after that.

I think I tried a space, I'll try it again though. a dot would be too disracting for me :p

I just want to post the same issue... :) I'm old&slow. /sigh

kovi, how do I reproduce?

I didn't do anything special... Just have tekKompare installed.
Faction / Guild: [HostileColor][Faction] [Guild:IsEqual([Guild#player])?Green][Guild:Angle]
How can i make it so that when a unit has no faction/guild it does not display this line and hides it?

Try this in 1L
[IsPlayer?IsEnemy?PvP?Name:HostileColor!Name:ClassColor!Name:ClassColor!IsPet?Name!~IsPlayerOrPet?Status?Name:StatusColor!Name:HostileColor] [Realm:Bracket] [Status:Angle] [AFKDND:Angle] [PvP:Angle:Red]
I needed to have all that in 1 []. My bad. It's fixed now. I also edited the original post to add [Zone] on the last left line.
