i know this addon is more of a minion like thing, but sometimes i would like to go through all my quests and i dont want to have to maximize every zone, so im wondering is it possible to have it when i press 'l' that the quest log opens up and it has all the quests in 1 frame and the quest description in the other frame (similar to EQL or UberQuest) n still have the minion on the side with advanced features, that would be AWSOME
- shift+rightclick on quest to link it in chat with quest objectives
I'm worried about overly many hotkeys and shortcuts here, would anyone notice this feature even existed? Tongue
Please use the following hotkeys:
Printing only quest header to chat: Shift + leftclick
Printing header + progression to chat: Ctrl + leftclick
Switching quest progression display inside the nQuestLog frame on and off: Alt + leftclick
I hope you set these as defaults and if you like, implement a setting where anybody can change modifier keys + left-/right-/middeclick for all functions that offer such a modifier + mouse click feature.
- rightclick/altclick on quest to show/hide objectives for that quest
The problem with this is smart quest objective tracking, as this would efficiently just override it. I've been thinking for a long time how to implement it well and be able to turn control back to the smart quest tracker, but I'm thinking now I might just skip that part and let manual override be 100% manual override (until next relog atleast).
Maybe turn it back over when the user collapses them again? If they want to keep a quest manually hidden they could hide it on the list, not just collapse the objectives.
doesn't work any more (when I finish a quest the objectives aren't
hidden (collapsed)). *Edit* Sometimes it works, sometimes not. That's weird...
Thx for the color settings!
A feature request for them: Please let uns use a copy & a paste button
in the color picker window too apply same colors to multiple settings.
It tries to be clever and highlight what you need to pay extra attention to.
For example if the subzone your in is mentioned in the quest objectives, such as :
Bring Whatever to Whoever in Booty Bay, if your in STV it wont highlight, but if your in booty bay it will.
It'll also try highlight stuff where the zone is in the quest objectives if it's a quest from another zone.
Example : Which doctor whoever wants you to go to feralas to get X. (quest from tanaris), this will highlight if your in feralas.
I've tried like dang to turn this off, and now when one pops up I flip options until the highlight dies. Is there an option (or pending option) to disable this? And if not, eh, I'm requesting it. Heh.

With or without it, this is a great tracker.
I have a similar problem with the quest highlighting. I turned it off, but as soon as I get a new quest it starts highlighting again even tho it is disabled. I just set the alpha of the quest highlight color to invisible using the new coloring stuff so if it does turn itself back on, I don't notice. :)

Sorry, not gonna happen, it involves a ton of work because I can't just modify the blizzard frame, I'd have to make a new one.

Yeah I might let people set their own modifiers.

Yeah but this is for quest objectives, not for quests ;)

This bug might be fixed now, I've redesigned that entire system ;)

Hm, I dont think that's possible. But you might be able to "trick" it like the blizzard frame, open colors for one setting, click ok, then reopen it, open another setting without clicking ok, and it'll reuse the color frame you have open.

Yes, I will make highlighting a module, and I realize it was absolutly useless for people who didn't use smart quest objective tracking, it should be usefull again now. (it had a tendency to highlight based on whether or not the quest objectives were visible, which is kinda bad when you always show them :P ).

Give Enhanced Colour Picker a try. It provides the copy/paste functionality you're looking for, and it works for all mods (at least all of mine, which includes nQL) that utilize the color picker frame.
Adding a quest minion header now, you can turn it off in the settings menu ofc.
I know it's ugly people, but it's there so the ones that hide zones they are not showing any quests in can find the zones without making their way into the menu system.
Oh, and the header also works as an anchor.
Need feedback on:
A : Choice of color (I know it's ugly atm, consider it work in progress)
B : Size
C : Should I change the font too maybe?
Haven't really gotten a chance to really use the new nQL because of these two errors I get with the latest version as of 2:30pm EST 2/1/2007. They aren't keeping the addon from working, it just bugs me to have errors :)

These are both immediately upon loading the game.
fixed in r26879
Also defaulted my header to off, since it's so ugly. Thinking I can have the same menu pop up if you for example alt + rightclick or something like that.
great addon.. is getting better and better...
is there any communication between nql users possible? for quests, quests process etc.?
it uses quixote as a backend, so it'll comunicate with anyone who has an addon using that library.
Out of curiosity, would this allow you to add a feature that lets you see what quests party members have that you might not and their status (assuming they have something using Quixote)?

Perhaps as an optional module?
It's already there, if you mouse over the tooltip will show their total progress, if you open the details frame it'll show their progress for individual objectives. I show "?" instead of 0, because sometimes when 0 is shown it's wrong :p, although looking into what's causing that is on the todo list.
What I actually meant, was a module to show what quests people in your party have, regardless of you having them or not.
I typically help out people in the guild doing quests and such, and to be able to see what quests they have and their progress on them, regardless of me having them (which I typically don't having done 95% of them already) would be really nice.
Something like QuestLink but as an optional module integrated into nQuestLog.

It'd be possible to implement as a module, but there's quite a lot of things I'd add before that.
Just figured out why people were complaining about the highlighting, it highlights quests where you've recently (last 30 min) gotten a quest item, and that seemed like a fairly good idea.
But I've started marking quests as "got quest item" whenever you go pick them up, which means any new quest will be highlighted if you move to another zone :p (or the zone for it will be atleast).
Also, I'm gonna try to tweak the layout a bit, it's ugly atm, I'm aware of that, it just hasn't been very high on the priority list ;)
http://hollowtube.mine.nu/tmp/tmp.jpg what's the first thought that hits you here people, is it he's color blind and on acid, or a clear improvement?
Text size is +1, a few extra spaces, border is transparent (which means you have to be psychic to figure out how to drag the frame if you just installed the mod, but nevermind that), and the colors are a bit changed.
If someone could come up with something prettier for me, that'd be great too ;), I got two spaces between title and progress now both for quests and quest objectives, good idea or bad?
I was thinking about aligning the progress to the right, but I'm not 100% sure on that.. And also I'm not entirly sure how I'd do it :P

Maybe turn it back over when the user collapses them again? If they want to keep a quest manually hidden they could hide it on the list, not just collapse the objectives.

@neuron
Please, please (did I say please?) make the header / progression chat posting things multiline, everything in one single line suckxxx :/
One line for the header and an additional line for _every_ part of the progress for a quest. Thx! :)
While finetunig things, please add a space between the level display and the quest header (at least when posting it to the chat).
E.g.:
[63]Ill Madness
is posted as:
[63] Ill Madness
It's much more readable.
Thx again :)
Regards,
Highend
Does anyone disagree with this? If not I'm gonna change it. (maybe link single line if you have chatbox open, multiline if chatbox is closed?)
Changed it in my version, but I got some broken code atm so I'm not gonna commit it until later.
"Compress objectives paste" :)
