It's mistakenly(?) showing the errors on other mods, but as you disable the other mods one-by-one (skinner, prat, etc...) the error just moved to another mod. Once you disable SCT and SCTD the errors all go away.
Heya Gray. Sorry for being so vague. I have not tried it yet with just that enabled. I will do so.
Something strange. Although I downloaded the most recent version I seem to have lost the SCT option from my Addons list from my character select screen. I still see the folder in my addons directory, but just not showing up.
I'll update you after I disable all the mods that error out.
I'll do this all night if need be, but so far I get that same error when:
1) First error says PRAT\libs\LibSharedMedia-2.0\LibSharedMedia-2.0.lua:206:assertion failed
2) Disable Prat and it says SKINNER\libs\LibSharedMedia-2.0\LibSharedMedia-2.0.lua:206:assertion failed
3) Disable Skinner and it says BIGWIGS\libs\LibSharedMedia-2.0\LibSharedMedia-2.0.lua:206:assertion failed
4) Disable BigWigs and it says CAPPING\libs\LibSharedMedia-2.0\LibSharedMedia-2.0.lua:206:assertion failed
Why do I have the feeling I am going to be disabling 30 mods? ;-)
Well, I would start with just disabling everything but SCT and see if that works first. If itself then that is one thing, if it doesn't it means its not installed correctly. So I would start there. The fact you said you can't see see sct_options in your addons means something is probably wrong.
I am pretty sure this is centered around SCTD, and not SCT. I blew all of my sct-associated mods away and started over from scratch. SCT works like a charm. As soon as I went and SCTD the errors all came back.
I'm having one problem with SCT 6.0; not completely sure how to isolate it, but events are showing up in the redundant format of "Victory Rush! (Victory Rush!)".
Tried to create some new custom events in SCT with the new combat log system.
Editing the sct_event_config.lua
But I can't get it to work anymore, showing "Sheep Broke!" from a mob/player I haven't selected.
I can only get it to show if I have it targetted myself.
So anyone know how I can get messages to show about buff gains/fades from enemies around me and not only my target?
Am I the only one not getting my damage done to show? Everything else shows fine: incoming heals, incoming damage, ability procs etc. But my white dmg, crits, dots and so on just doesn't show.
Does the filter I configure on the combat log affect SCT in any way? My combat log goes totally bananas when I zone in some way, so I filtered most of the output.
It shows only my special crits, but I'm having a very difficult time converting this to work with the new combat log.
Any help please?
Do you know how to show a custom event without having to target the one?
So for example showing when sheep breaks from a enemy around you, not targetted.
Or a buff gains from someone around you, not targetted.
Occulte, I'm not sure what to tell you. I don't think you have SCT or SCTD installed correctly. Please delete their folders and reinstall them directly from wowinterface or the zip file from here. There would be a lot more people complaining about this issue if it was something inherit to the mods =)
domil, yes they are both working. Please totally delete their folders and reinstall them as if they are not showing up in the addons menu, you don't have them installed correctly.
Pirsillis, hmm haven't seen that one. For now, uncheck the "Skill Name" option and see if that fixes it, and I will look into what its doing.
Cryss, I know the event config now is confusing and I am about to begin actively working on a GUI menu for it (its first on my list after the 2.4 rush dies down). You can no longer search the combat log looking for "messages", you have to base it off of parameters returned by the combat log system now. In your case, I think this is what you want:
The type has to be FADETARGET to tell SCT to search for buff/debuffs fading, and the search has to just be Polymorph, the name of the spell you are care about. Let me know if that works out for you.
Daarky, if I am following you correctly, you want an event that shows anytime a spell/ability crits, but not when something like a melee swing (white damage) crits? I think in that case you would actually need two events for the new system. One that filters out melee crits and then one that catches special crits. Something like this may work:
Solon, you have to install SCTD to see your damage. I plan on integrating them in the near future, but for now you need both. SCT is not affectd by anything you do with the combat log.
Cryss, after reading your second reply, what you are asking for cannot currently be done by SCT. SCT don't currently check events for any hostile units, only for your target. I'll reconsider that as I begin working on the new menu driven system. The whole custom event system in SCT feels really kludgey to me right now, but it was a "quick and dirty" way for me to get them working with 2.4. I need to step back and take some time to rethink how to best approach it going forward, now that I am not pressed for time =)
Back to your request, have you checked out the mod called ControlFreak? It does something exactly what you are looking for and even gives a sound warning when CC breaks. I use it on a number of characters for their CC. Let me know in a PM if you have questions about it.
Since the custom events changed in 6.0, I cannot figure out how to get a message for Windfury totem or sword spec procs. Neither of these actually give the player a buff, so my attempts to use the BUFFSELF type event have failed. Anyone know if detecting extra attacks from WF/Sword spec and displaying a custom message is still possible?
Ok, thanks for the reply, Grayhoof.
I did try that line you gave me before, but it only possible when I have it targetted.
Before 2.4 I could get those messages shown when I didn't have any target.
So I guess I have to look for a other alternative for the moment.

Cryss, definitely check out ControlFreak as an option. There is currently no way at all to filter the combat log events for mods, so I had to make some choices on what custom events there can be. As I move forward I'll look towards adding more.
Davidson2008, you can get those by just turning on Active Skills in the event options. I'd have to research some how to display them as custom events. Not sure exactly how they show up in the new combat system.
I could really use a hand with the new custom events.
Right now I use:
- Frame 1 for dmg/debuffs
- Frame 2 for heals/buffs
- which leaves me wanting to have all buff fades as a custom event, since I don't wanna put them in the other frames if possible.
I'm positive I'm doing it wrong, but what I've been trying is:
[19] = {display="*1 wears off.", type="FADESELF", search="fades from", r=145/256, g=117/256, b=104/256, anitype=2},
Is this at all possible to do?

I made life a little easier on myself and went through every mod I have that uses that LibSharedMedia-2.0.lua file, and disabled all of those mods.
Now there is only one mod left that touches that file and it's SCT itself. Now the error says:
...\sct\libs\LibSharedMedia-2.0\LibSharedMedia-2.0.lua:206:assertion failed

Is this a bug or a strange option I need to uncheck?
