I seem to have a problem with SCTD's "show at name plates" setting. Namely, I cannot turn it off. :) If I have name plates enabled, SCTD will always display the damage I do at the mob's name plate regardless of whether I have that option enabled or not. My versions of sct/d + options are around 15 minutes old.
I noticed that, but after restarting the game a few times and nuking all files named *sct* under WTF, the problem still persists. Maybe there's something else obvious I'm missing?
Another question: which category, if any, are lightning shield and flurry (and probably other such things) in? They seem to be hard-coded to always appear in frame 1 for me.

Lightning Shield and Flurry are in the sct_custom_events.lua file. When editing this file I recommend making a back up of your changes so you can easily copy it over after an addon update.
Recent commit fixed the bugs around nameplate positioning and custom events not properly turning off. Also added the ability for SCTD to have custom events from SCT's custom event list. I added Deep Wound Immune removal as an example.
since last week, i have no periodic damage displayed for my rogue (rupture; garrotte; deadly poison)
i've tryed modify a lot of option in sct and sctd but no change appear
You probably have the Periodic Damage turned off under the Interface Options -> Advanced Options tab. For some reason if you turn it off there, the game removes it from everywhere (combat log, events, etc...)

Had the same issue 2months ago, try to see if yu use SWstats with FixLogthingy. That was source of Periodic Damage avoidance.

i play on two different computer, one is right and the other don't display periodic damage
the second as SWstats enabled.
so your probably find what's wrong

The issue is that, on locales where SW_FixLogString do change event strings, you have to make sure that the changes are done before Parser-1.1 (and Parser-3.0) initializes.
You need to change SW_Stats.toc so that the line "OptDependencies" has an entry that reads "SW_FixLogString" instead of "SW FixLogString" (underscore instead of space). Then you need to add an Optional Dependency to SW_Stats to Parser-1.1.toc.
I haven't seen this posted anywhere yet so maybe the problem is on my end, but when I use an SML font when I load up the game the message frame initially loads as the default font. I only need to open the SCT menu and close it and the font sets itself to what I had selected. I nuked my Saved Variables and it didn't help, tho I may try again (however when I open SCT's saved variables file MSGFONT is set to what I selected which confuses me). Dunno if anyone else is getting this or if it happens to just be the font I'm using causing the problem, anyway just a heads up. Keep up the great work Grayhoof!
The font I am using is Yellowjacket btw if that matters or anything.
i get this strange error - well, like a messagebox not an error box:
each time i log, i get a message that SCTD will not load unil SCT 5.6 is loaded. but i have sct5.6 and sctd works just fine. it;s just that message box each time i login :/
Ok, do you know if it's possible to modify sct_event_config.lua somehow to "detect" when spell cooldowns have finished?
SCT seems to catch some hidden events when you enable show all power gains, I don't know if spell cooldowns fall into that category though. Thanks for a awesome addon none the less :)

I have installed the new version of SCT/SCTD, and I have not find a point where I can take off the message 'xxx begins to cast xxx'.
Please help where I can switch off this function.

It's possible that some other mod is sending the messages to your sct.
Witchhunt perhaps?

No I have this message only then I have SCT on, no Witchhunt or other mods!
SpellAlertSCT perhaps, if that mod is still around. I had it briefly and it Taskrider's description matches its behavior.

K-Lined, no I will not be adding that to SCT.
