Once Inquest resizing is disabled, the tracker works like any Blizzard default resizable frames (e.g. chat frames). Actually, as Cremor said, Inquest adds new features to the default tracker, but all the basic features are still there. You could try to disable Inquest to see how the default tracker works, then enable Inquest again to see what it adds.

I tried it with the automatic resizing disabled. It is still aligning the tracked items to the left side of the tracking frame instead of the right side like it does in the default implementation. An option disabling/enabling this behavior would be nice.
Also, a text outline option for the tracker's font would surely make things easier to read over the background of the game.
arnath2, a question to the localization changes in the latest Alpha:
Am I correct that we now have two options for quest progress, one only for the full quest completion and one for quest and objective completion?
Because the current localization keys are missleading. The short keys read like "quest progress" and "quest and objective completion", the longer keys read like "quest and objective completion" and "quest and objective progress".
edit:
Oh, and since 2.01 my tracker gets hidden when completing a quest sometimes :(
1) Disable the freaking minimize button on the tracker. Even when the tracker is locked and its background hidden, the button is still apparently active, and I somehow manage to hit it all the time. Very, very annoying. A separate option would be fine, or just disable the button when the background is permanently hidden since an invisible button is pretty much never good.
2) Invert the colors for complete/incomplete titles and objectives. The default coloring is dark (gray for objectives, dark gold for titles) for incomplete and bright (white for objectives, bright gold for titles) for complete. This is kind of silly, since it makes complete things, which I need to pay less attention to, more visible than incomplete things. I used to have an addon which switched this, but it stopped working in 3.1, and I think this feature would be a good fit for Inquest.
Phanx: Oh heh sorry I didn't realize that the minimize button wasn't getting disabled when the backdrop was hidden. Will fix that in the next release.
Cremor: Which keys/options did you mean specifically? Also, are you still having the issue where your tracker sometimes gets hidden when completing quests?
gamemaster128: Can you describe the alignment error you're getting in more detail? I don't quite understand what you mean.
HunterZ: The "lock" feature locks both position and resizing. There's no special texture for the resize thumbs but they're in both bottom corners. However, for resize to work, you also have to either a) have automatic resize turned off in the options, or b) set horizontal growth to "None". Turning off auto resize will let you size it however you want. Setting horizontal growth to "None" makes it resize vertically but not horizontally.
Adirelle: Are you still having your issue where the tracker appears every time you loot an item? When you say "once you hide the tracker", do you mean hide the backdrop or using one of the "hide when" settings?

If I were to to track a quest with a short name and short objective descriptions, it would still align this information to the left side of the tracker. Disabling Inquest and then using the default tracker, the quest information would be aligned to the right side of the tracking frame. This is the way I prefer it.
I just tested v2.02 and it is now aligning the contents to the right side of the tracking frame. I don't know what you changed, but it is working now.
BTW, did you see my feature request?
Also, a text outline option for the tracker's font would surely make things easier to read over the background of the game.
Cremor: Which keys/options did you mean specifically?
I checked the code now and it seems like everything is ok.
The problem is that the order of the localization keys on WowAce doesn't match the logical order (the tooltip description of the second checkbox is right after the lable of the first checkbox).
Just to be sure:
There is now an option to send quest objective progress and an option to send quest objective completion, but none for only quest completion, right?
Also, are you still having the issue where your tracker sometimes gets hidden when completing quests?
No, this was fixed in some update already, thanks.
Does anybody particularly LIKE the 3.2 "Open quest log" functionality (where it just opens the details pane)? I've had two requests to change it to the pre-3.2 way so I did it in the latest release; however, if there are people that like the new way I might add some kind of toggle.
Is it possible to hide the header on the tracker when you have a background showing? I like to keep a background because I have bad eyesight and need the contrast with the text. But I don't need a random bar saying "Objectives".
arnath2, is LibQuixote-2.0 really required by Inquest ? I think most of people there do not really want the party quest sharing feature of LibQuixote-2.0 in a tracker enhancer and it is actually causing lots of error spam in battlegrounds and raid.

Seems like we have to live some days without it ;)
Btw: arnath2, you can remove the reference to DoubleWide from the description now ;)

Ability to send objective changes to msbt/sct (sinklib?) possibly colored similar to the way Smoothquest does it.

I made the changes necessary for this on my local copy, sending in pm incase you wish to use it, feel free :) Also thanks for the sound.
Could we get an option to not show item icons for quests that are complete?
