I am wondering if anyone has attempted to code a module that does
- Custom point awarding per set time/bosskill/raid (currently we award a set amount each week)
- Closed bidding with no minimum bid
I know something similar to this was mentioned in the the beginning of the thread, sorry for bringing it up again.
Also, when playing around with the available modules, I found that DKPmon kept assigning all items to be disenchanted by default, even if I added some bids to it. I had to manually select the highest bidder from the drop down and assign the item to him before announcing.
Would love to hear from anyone who could help me out here, this addon looks so nice in terms of making the dkp handling and bidding as effective as possible, would hate to have to go for something else because I can't get the 2 things mentioned above working (tried hacking the Zero Sum module but I just got in way above my head)
I haven't heard of anyone writing a module like that. But, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. People don't tend to tell me when they've written something custom. ;)
Regarding the "disenchant by default" -- that's the way my modules are coded, actually. I didn't put in any intelligence for automatically picking a winner when bids are received, so you have to manually select the winner based on your own criteria.
Thanks for the quick reply, good to know I wasn't doing something wrong with the winner assignment thing :)
About the module I mentioned, any chance of seeing something like that added or is it just too custom for you to consider? Or is there maybe a module you (or anyone else reading this) know of that works in a similar way?
Hello, I've been following this mod for a while hoping to figure out how to get my guild on it. The problem is that our DKP system doesn't match either of the included modules and I was wondering if any of the other guilds out there were up for sharing their modification to this mod.
Right now my guild is using a straight auction style bidding system with points awarded by time (on time, 2 hour time blocks, stayed the whole raid).
If needed I'll get my local modder working on this module and submit it to be added to the DKPmon website but if someone has a it already done and is willing to share I'd really appriciate not having to recreate the wheel.
The module you describe is too custom for me to write one up. But, if someone does write one up and wants it hosted, or mentioned, on my googlepages site, I'd be glad to do so.
The how-to has been on my todo list for a while now, I just haven't gotten around to it. I documented the module code fairly heavily, so for the time being my hope is that's enough for people to figure things out. Of course, I'm always available to answer questions too. :-)
If you do get your local coder on the project, do let him/her know that I'm around to answer any questions he/she might encounter on the way.
I haven't heard word from Dahn in well over a month now; so I have no idea what the status of that functionality is. In the meantime, the CTRT-xml does seem to work with the CT_Raidtracker plugin for eqDKP.
Our guild officers currently uses RnS DKP Manager for DKP tracking, management, and export to eqDKP. Unfortunately it seems to no longer be maintained and I keep having to make tweaks to the scripts and I'm worried it will completely stop working in the near future. This leads me to DKPmon. I've been using / converting to other mods utilizing the ACE framework (FuBar + plugins, oRA2, etc.) and love them... I'd love DKPmon to work for us too! So I have some simple questions regarding it's functionality and rather it may work for us or not:
Our DKP system uses a slightly modified "spend enough" approach:
- DKP is awarded for 3 major events: per-hour, boss kill, and special events such as on time, bonus's, and other "manual" type entries
- Members post their "bids" publicly in raid chat -- whoever has the most current DKP (top DKP posted on the site) wins a item for +1 more than the interested party below them. E.g. If player A has 150 and player B has 100, player A wins for 151. Defaulted items cost 30% of your DKP with a roof value of 150 DKP (Cost = 30% <= 150)
Does DKPmon allow for this kind of thing? The major things we use our current DKP tracker for is 1) per-hour tracking -- this is very important. and 2) It automatically assigns DKP to people in the raid for the boss kills, etc.; We manually enter in winners, their items and cost via the DKP Manger GUI.
If we can do all the above in a good fashion, I'd love to make the switch!!!!
When using the FCZS system, we still like to enter all items that get disenchanted into eqDKP so that everything is recorded but in DKPmon when everything from a boss is disenchanted it does not allow me to add an entry using the award dkp panel for 0 dkp, and doesn't list the boss in the menu to select points to award. I would like it if it would allow you to record the event instead of printing just "Points Awarded:" and nothing else to the chat. This is with the option set to not award points for disenchanted or banked items.
I'm glad to see a fellow Deathwing player considering my addon. :-) The short answer to your question is that, no, I haven't written any modules to do any sort of time-based DKP system. But, if you have any lua coders in ORLY then they should be able to be write one for your system fairly easily -- they just have to use a metrognome counter, or some such, to award the time-based DKP.
Thanks for pointing that out. I'll try to find some time to fix that.
Try the latest commit of the eqDKP export module. I added a little bit to the CTRT-xml export string that, based on what I know of the CTRT-xml, should include the DKP values of items.
I don't understand the logic in this part of code in DKPmon_FCZS\fczs.lua
--- Add the value of the item to the list of points remaining to be awarded
if (not mydb.usedummies) or (mydb.usedummies and tab.winner ~= L["Disenchant"] and tab.winner ~= L["Bank"]) then
It seems to be saying:
"Add the cost of the item to the list of points to award if:
1. You have selected not to award points to Disenchanter and Banker
2. You have selected to award points to Disenchanter and Banker but the winner is not the Disenchanter or Banker"
Am I just being dense or is this not making sense?
I do not want to award points to the raid for items that are disenchanted or banked.
Yet if I select the option to not use Disenchant and Bank, the above conditional evaluates to true
and the item points will be added to points outstanding regardless who won (raider or sharded).
If on the other hand I have selected to award points for Disenchanted and Banked items,
then first expression evaluates to false, and second expression evaluates to false again for items won by Disenchanter or Banker,
so those points are not added to points outstanding anyway.
Must be missing something simple, or this doesn't seem to be working as intended.
I did a sanity-check by totaling all the points in my DB and they don't come out zero.
Instead I have considerable inflation.
(as would be expected if banker+d/e are not deducted points but the points are still distributed to the raid)
Wouldn't it make more sense to be like this?
if (mydb.usedummies) or (not mydb.usedummies and tab.winner ~= L["Disenchant"] and tab.winner ~= L["Bank"]) then
"Add the item cost if:
1. I have selected to award points for all winners (including disenchanter/banker - dummies)
2. I have selected not to award points for items going to bank/shard and the winner is not one of those
(hence item was won by a normal raider)"
Verified the export error again last night.
I can see the value is set in the file, but it still gives the error for everyone that tries to do an export.
I'm at a complete loss as to what version of the export module you're using -- none of the ones I've ever committed to the svn have that spelling error in them. Even the version in /files right now doesn't have that error. Should be easy enough to fix though, just change "vaules" on line 326 of exportmod.lua to "values".
