all is working terribly great, I like the sound feature very much
.... except that each time I found a Rare I jump on my chair .... on the last one almost fell off
Imagine my husband, me, playing together and jumping at same time wondering what was happening .... and why we were doing a Readycheck ... anyway we had a good laugh
Could you tell me how I could change the sound ? I found it in announce.lua but it seems not working if i simply change the name.
I am new with SilverDragon. I imported the rare database and I wonder if the Routes Addon can make routes between spawn points? (going after the rare-achievements). I tried but routes says no Handynotes data. I got Handynotes installed and all spawn points show up on the map.

Routes currently only works with the notes in the core HandyNotes addon. Notes with plugins are currently too tricky because every plugin uses its own author's method of storing/retrieving node data, there is no "standard".
This should be obvious (but isn't to me)... does Silverdragon scan your surroundings by itself or do you have to spam the macro as you fly around? I originally assumed that you had to use the macro but I'm not so sure anymore.
With the cache scanning enabled, you'll get notices before you even can see the mob. The macro, from my inderstanding, will just target any nearby that it finds. It's probably going to be more useful without the cache scanning on, since once you see it and get the notification window pop-up, you can then click that pop-up window to target the mob.
Does that mean that if I get the cache scanning notification, the mob is up somewhere in the zone I'm in? If so that is VERY useful. I guess I'm not sure what the cache scanning means.
The first time you get within (visual?) range of a mob, info about the mob is retrieved from the server and stored locally in the cache. SilverDragon detects this and notifies you about it.
Does anyone else using the HandyNotes map icons have the problem where the icons are huge on your minimap unless you open the HandyNotes configuration menu and change the scale up or down? Even if I just click on the box that defaults to '1' for the scale of the minimap icons and hit enter, they instantly shrink back down to the correct size.
I've experienced this using SimpleMinimap, BasicMinimap, and Chinchilla. I'm currently using BasicMinimap.

It is probably a HandyNotes issue, and while I acknowledge that this issue exists, I currently do not have the time to go hunt for the cause.

But this will only work the first time you see a mob? So if you come back a few days later and the mob is already cached it wont announce?
Greetings! I just added SilverDragon to my WoW account, and am really excited about it! Normally I do not use ANY sound when playing. What sound must I enable for SilverDragon to notify me of a rare sighting?

HandyNotes works with all map addons, or the lack of one. This includes Cartographer.

And all the icons are on the map.
I updated HandyNotes before with the Astrolable *beta*.

You probably found that out by yourself by now, but yes. That's what the "Cached" in the minimap button tooltip means.
Yeah, wish there was a way to force clearing the cache :-)
