And you don't get a garbaged border around the compare tooltip? Have you changed any of your border settings in cowtip, or do you just use the defaults?
Thanks Seerah, took a quick look at it. It looks like you use a border called "Edge" for some of your toons. I wonder if that is fixing the problem for you. Where did you get that border? The only additional border I have is one called Roth from Sharedmedia.
I'm getting this kind of annoying bug. When I hover over my spells on my actionbar, it flickers between the cursur (where I want it to be) and where the default tooltip would be (bottom right hand corner). If I turn off enhanced tooltips in the WoW interface options, it stops happening. Any ideas?
Same bug here - CowTip + Bongos2 and tooltips "jumps" between my cowtip position and standard blizzard bottom right corner of screen.
Something I can't figure out in Cowtip is how to get the colored backgrounds to work, mine are just black. I'd like to enable this feature but I can't figure out how or has it not been implemented?
Update on my problem, All Players have Blue backgrounds (regardless of faction - e.g. I'm alliance and they are horde) and everything else has black ones.
i redid my tip exactly how i want it, all thats left is to have it show the players location. i am pretty sure it did this on default, but i dont remember what the tag is, and i cant find it on the tag site. if anyone knows it thatd be awesome.
First off, I want to thank ckknight for his addons. I know you've been getting a lot of heat lately, but I want to say I appreciate your work.
Quick question.
I'm using the default target line right now and have no problem with it. What I'd like to know is how to have it NOT show if the target is dead? I'd like it to just skip it completely on a dead target, but don't know enough DogTags to know where to put the if/then markers.
(I did see the response about: Target?Text(Target:) but that just blanks the left side. I'd like the right side blank too.
Since it looks like the first set of brackets in the right side just sets the color of the target, I tried this for the second set. (It failed miserably of course.) :) Probably the bracket-in-bracket?
Just curious if there is a way to display the other styles of brackets within tags. I know about [*:Angle] but I was wondering if there was a way to display the round and square brackets as well. I'd like to put the square brackets around my classifications and the round brackets around the status. I've tried ":Round" and ":Square" only to encounter errors.
First of all, I am totally loving the addon, the idea and the possibilities of customization.
However, I am having some raaather annoying problems. At first there were no problems really, but now every time I exit the game and log back in at a later time, it has reset my saved variables (CowTip.lua), or in some cases, mixed up the profiles, applying some of the changes to "Default", while others either remain unsaved or are saved on the right profile (I always use per-character settings)
Another is the positioning of the tooltips if I choose to have them anchored at one of the screen presets, and then use the "Adjust" option to move them around a little - The tooltips do not follow the anchor the way they did the first time I used the addon. Instead they have a weird x,y offset from each of them, which seems pretty random from time to time.
This doesn't happen right away after a reset of the saved variables, however it occurs as soon as I change some of the other options, often the Appearance ones.
I don't get any errors about it, not anymore anyways, however I did get some DB errors at the beginning, unfortunately I was so frustrated that I just deleted them from BugSack :<
I'm seeing people having ... similar issues to an extend, but many of them unresolves, and they're not identical, so I was just hoping for a reply here before I reported it as a bug (seeing as it may not be a bug at all, and I may just be doing something wrong). :>
EDIT: Disregard the saving errors - I downloaded the standalone Rock libraries instead of using the embedded ones, and that fixed it for me (it seems), but the weird achoring error is still occuring, but it's not that big of a deal, since I just put the "Adjust" fields a bit offset to get the actual tooltips to show in the right location.
Having a small bug with cowtip since 2.2, and nobody else seems to be mentioning it. I have all the fade settings set to immediate hide, but non-unit tooltips are not hiding at all, until i hover over a unit tooltip. For example, if i hover over a spell on one of my action bars and then move the mouse out, the tooltip just sits there forever, until i mouse over a unit frame or a player/mob. Then the tooltip changes the correct information, and hides like normal when i mouse out. I know this sounds a little confusing, but has anybody else experienced this?

that tag doesnt seem to work for me. any clue what im doin wrong?
edit: it works on grey mobs but it doesnt show the level in color grades. level 60's are white even though im 70. and level 62s are white, all the way up to 70.
maybe i just cant figure out how to difficulty-color players? but even lv60 npc's are white.
Yay, gotta try that today. :)

I got it and another out of the UI thread I think. I forget who put them up there. >.<

[Target?([IsUnit#player(mouseovertarget)?Text(<<You>>)!NameRealm#mouseovertarget:Text(None)])]
Anyway, thanks for reading and any help you can give.
Any help would be appreciated.
theirs already a thread for that...

strange :P
know of any way to make difficultycolor apply full-time no matter the hostility or status of the player/npc/mob?
thanks ;)
