Kinda got bored with the default CowTip layout so I decided to play around with it, and came across an issue and I was wondering if anyone knew of a fix.
Pretty much all the fields are default, except for the one that has the guild info, which I changed to:
[(if Guild and Guild = 'player':Guild then Guild:Green else Guild:Angle end)]
Nothing special, but it got rid of a blank line when guildless, but I noticed that it also made the line smaller, so when there wasn't a guild (but showed up fine when there was a guild), but still had a spec it showed up smaller, any ideas?
I've got my CowTip looking pretty much the way I want it, but as I've been playing a couple of instances have come up that I don't know the tags for, looking for a little help:
1) If the unit is a pet, display whose pet it is (Ex. "John's Pet"), and maybe even if it's Happy/Content (Ex. "John's Pet - Happy")
2) For Friendly NPCs, I seem to have wiped out the ... well, I'm not sure what the 'name' of it is, but it's the line of text that explains who/what they are (Ex. "Leatherworking Trainer", "Banker", "Fungus Vendor")

Thanks for your help,
use [guild] should work for both cases, pet happiness I dont think will show up for other players pets
I was just wondering about Classficiation. I want to have it like if classification contains 'Boss' then Boss should be colored red or if it contains 'Elite', then elite should be yellow. I have found the code for it but I just don't know how to link them together ? its probably something very simple im missing :)
[If Classification:Contains("Boss") then "Boss":Red end]
[If Classification:Contains("Elite") then "Elite":Yellow end]
First, I want to say this is a great addon and I really do appreciate the work you've put into making it what it is.
I am a man who knows just enough to get his UI looking to way he wants, but has no knowledge regarding the code that makes things happen the way they do.
Since the 2.4 patch I have been unable to view players talents when I mouseover them. I do not know what to type in or even where to type it in.
I attempted to plug in some 'code' that a previous poster listed, but it was a failure. I don't know if you're suppose to add code from the Cowtip menu while ingame or if there is a file in the Cowtip folder that I must alter.

I am looking for a nice setup from one of you guys that i can copy into my tooltips. Be kind and list them out for me if you could. And if Antiarc is there, please show me yours it was the best one i have seen, but when 2.4 came out it of course is not working anymore.

In 2.4, they have to be visible, within 30 yards, and not an enemy. Before 2.4, it was a lot more slack.
Although there are a number of posts about people still not being able to see Talents so maybe a bug somewhere?
Hi, is there a way to not stretch background textures, the texture i use is 64x64 and looks really weird if stretched to fit in a complete tooltip.
In skinner i can set a tilesize, is there something like that in cowtip too ?
Is it just me, or is the new version of CowTip missing the adjustments for class colors that were provided in a previous version, ala PitBull. I have changed my class colors so that priests are yellow and rogues are a deep purple, but it has now reverted back to priests being white and rogues yellow. I would like to change it back to the way I have it in PitBull, but can't figure out how. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

speaking of custom class colors is there a way for custom TalentTree colors?
say a mage tree comes back as fire, anyway to make fire text red, Ice text Blue, and arcan text cyan.
[if TalentSpec then TalentTree:ClassColor ' ' TalentSpec:Paren:Yellow end]
Hello!
I installed this addon last week when Tipuddy, my preferred tooltip addon broke. I have to say this is a really nice one.
If I target a player (but not myself) and I move the cursor to the unit frame of my target I get a "Player Options" text in the tooltip. In Tipbuddy this functions like if I moved my cursor on the player (so I get the player's tooltip instead of the "Player Options" text). This is the main reason I used Tipbuddy as long as I could, because I don't know any other addon that skips this "Player Options" text. Is it possible to make Cowtip to do that?
EDIT: Found a solution to this, if anyone cares: In the Blizzard Interface menu Help submenu I had to uncheck Beginner Tooltips.
Hi,
when i started playing my rogue again i wondered if it is possible to display debuff durations with Cowtip. I really would like to see my sap timer with just an mouseover instead of switching targets. I know i could use a focus target but i'm just curious if something like that is possible with Cowtip.

Hello!
I'm looking for a TipBuddy theme for CowTip, but unfortunately the previous codes what I found have lot's of syntax errors and unknown tags. Can someone help me out? I'm new to DogTags.

EDIT: Okay, it was insanely simple ... I was using:
[(if [IsPlayer or [IsEnemy and not IsPet]] then Guild:Angle:Green end)]
Just changed it to:
[(if [IsPlayer or [IsEnemy and not IsPet]] then Guild:Angle:Green else Guild end)]
... and now it's just what I want. Thanks for the nudge!

this is the line im using atm.
I recognized that
even is true when the target is different but the name of the target is the same. This was not intended.
I am looking for a correct working translation of this dt2 code:
It only should return 'Your Aim' when the target of me and the mouseovertarget is the same target.
@roughknight :
I am using dt3

(untested, replace "Sap" with whatever the correct name for the debuff is)
