A German translator I have not seen before (Oojoo) uploaded a new AuldLyngSyne commit this morning (r59204, changelog: "deDe update"). It looks like it will bork the addon.
The revision adds a copy of AuldLangSyne_Fu.toc in the improper folder (\AuldLangSyne\FriendList\). So that there are now two TOCs in that folder, the other one is the proper AuldLangSyne_FriendList.toc.
The extra .toc file by itself shouldn't make a difference, since it doesn't match the folder name and won't be loaded anyway... but who knows what other changes may have been made. How do you accidentally add an extra .toc file anyway? o.O
Ups, sorry for that, my fault.. Didn't notice that, but should have been happened while copy-pasting all that stuff from one folder to another. I'm going to delete it now, but nothing breaks, working fine for me with a deDE client ;)
No. AuldLangSyne does not replace the friend and ignore list implementations, and the max size for both is controlled by Blizzard. There are addons that give you a "virtual ignore list extension" by silently ignoring all messages from "ignored" players, but there's no real feasible way to do the same for the friends list.
Sorry if this has been brought up but what are the plans for 2.4? The default UI will allow you to setup notes on a player. Will AuldLangSyne move the player notes to the Blizzard implementation or will you retain them in the mod?
I believe after some quick testing that the new player notes are stored server-side. After setting some test notes and logging off, I could not find the new notes under the WoWTest/WTF folder.
It might be useful if you could offer an option to move the notes to Blizzard's implementation and then remove the AuldLangSyne notes. I don't see an option to add notes for ignore or mute though.
Also, I was curious if there is a way to add a note for someone without targeting them first? Sometimes I'd like to add a note for someone who isn't in range.
Hi, is there any chance that this addon will be updated?
In the german wow version (and i think also in all other versions of course) the classnames now differ between male and female, but auldlangsyne (or the library) don't know these classnames so these players won't be colored...
Anyone knows how to fix that?
Or is there some other addon, that will colorize my guild/friendslist (with the playernames)
