if u can garentee that this will never Synch in combat or only sync on request - then i'll switch.
only reason i ask is that i play on DSL and it has a low tolerance for shit syning in combat like DM and SWS and MiniStats and the Like. KTM dosn't seem to affect it, just seems to be the addons that have to send alot of data at once that seem to Lag me into oblivion and right into the whelps :((
I do believe it synch's in combat..my wifey's toon shows up in the list when in a party with her.Other's in the party that don't have Violation don't show up..

It sends a maximum of one message every 5 seconds, so it will impact things even less than KTM.
Violation is really strict on what it sends through the comm channel, and keeps it at an absolute minimum.
As nymbia says, it only transmits every 5 seconds, and then only if you actually have something to transmit.
If you inspect if further, you'll see that the messages it sends are also very small.
That said, Violation is not ready for general usage yet.
havent updated it for plenty of time, very happy with new changes, still i am not sure if it is possible to print results to a selected channel (party raid say etc)?
i'd sure drop down SWstats if its going to be implemented- violation is almost weightless.
Tried this out tonight, -great- work so far. Didn't have any issues with it (had a couple others in the raid run it as well). Still relying on damage meters for now (per Rabbit's recommendation) but this mod is looking great!
A lot of our guild members have G15 keyboards, which have a function to show when someone whispers you. Now using this mod we were getting spammed across the LCD on the keyboard that we were all receiving tells (that of course we were not). I am assuming this has something to do with Violation as we don't see this behavior when it is disabled? As the G15 is an insanely popular keyboard for WoW is there a way to fix this? What is it using tells for? I thought it communicated via a hidden channel?
Is this statement still up to date? I tested "Violation" yesterday for the first time in a raid (Karazhan), having "SW Stats" active as well in the background, to compare the values afterwards. I have "SW Stats" set to track heals only in fight, and without overheal. That's what I understand to be effective healing, I hope I'm not mixing up something right now. However, after Moroes I compared the values for the first time, and was pretty suprised that I was shown exactely the same stats by both addons. On one hand that's great, and it's another step for me to switch to "Violation", but on the other hand I'm a bit confused now (with the quote above in mind).
Maybe someone can clear up things to me. :)
If other people in your group are running Violation, you will also be able to see their damage, and the list will be sorted according to damage value.
I don't know of any other guild members running this addon, so I'm quiet suprised again why "SW Stats" and "Violation" have shown the same numbers to me if I'm the only one using it. Has the sync-functionality changed as well since initial release, and I just missed it?
Apart from that, I'd like to be able to report to channels as well. I read above that this is planned to be implemented soon, so I'm looking forward to that. Would it be possible to add small cutting lines between the players? And what about a few layout configurations? I'd like to change the boarder color for example, because the dazzlingly orange doesn't really fit into my UI. ;)
I am about to try using "Violation", but have some more questions before i start:
1. Does it work the same way as Recap and DamageMeters (in general)?
2. Is it still needed "Violation" to be installed with all group/raid members so i can see their combat stats?
3. Does it display curing done and crits %?
Been comparing DPS values from EavesDrop and Violation. Lately, Violation is coming in about 1/3 the value I'm getting from EavesDrop.
Not sure which to believe, but I'd like to think my 70 Balance Druid does better than 150 DPS...
I was wondering too. I got same kind of results. Though the DPS module code seems ok, it gives really low numbers. According to Violation, my pet almost has a higher DPS than me...

Ah. Well, I would, but I don't actually know very much about writing addons atm :S
I'm gonna try to learn after classes are over though, so in a month or so maybe :)
That or recruit everyone that's working on PitBull once they're done with it... that thing went together FAST o_O

thanks a lot for great mod =)
I wouldn't do that just yet :)
I have moved Violation away from parser-3.0 and it now uses parser-1.1 which is more complete and proven.
This should fix those issues. Still combatlogrange will affect results until we get some of the other TODO items done.

Considering how little point there is in the way I use either one, I don't think it's going to cause a problem.
