so addon is working for some people actually?
i might try to install it with embeds
edit nop doest work with externals install too. keep telling me there is no acelibrary running. not sure but may be some code is still ace2 based - i dont have it running
might try with it running later, will post results
i confirm my wild guess, with installed and running Ace2 core libs Whisp runs just fine, without them its a mess
i guess some code is still using old libraries.

All libs and embeds are written inside the toc file.

i tested Whisp with Ace2 running and without, it runs with and does not without.
i hope someone who maintain this will actually look into it
Been trying this out as a replacement for WhisperFu and am really liking it. My goal is to completely dump FuBar and while testing I did run into one issue. Without FuBar or at the very least LibRock running there is no minimap button and using FuBar2Broker (testing Fortress and StatBlockCore) makes no difference. Any chance that this could be addressed and/or a broker module added?
Is Apyss still around? Switching to broker but hate whisp on the minimap. Might have to make my own broker plugin if he is not supporting the mod anymore?
I too would like to switch to broker and get rid of fubar. This is the last addon that is preventing me from making that switch however. If there's anything I can do to aid in getting that broker plugin going please let me know.
Real life has kept me busy in the past months and with Whisp still working out-of-the box I did not see any urgent reason to post updates. I'm not in any way abandoning my projects Whisp and SpamSentry. I have been updating SpamSentry over the past few weeks and will have a look at the Whisp code soon.
Currently Whisp is written for Ace3. The FuBar plugin messes up dependencies (Ace2, Rock) however, which is the reason I'm going to bin that bit. I'll be rewriting the plugin to use Broker instead of Fubar, but it will be a pretty interesting thing, so don't expect a miracle within a week ;-)
As a side note: I'm a loss when it comes to using SVN (switching computers too often to get the svn client properly setup), so my addons will be shipped in the old-fashioned pre-packaged way again with upcoming versions.
Morgalm, I am using your LDB plugin, but it gets me a tooltip error the first time I mouseover it. Apparently it can only display a tooltip at the top, not at the bottom. I miss the old color functionality that whisp had in Fubar, but other than that, it's a great start. I still haven't found anything else that comes close to this addon.
Yes I checked that out and realised the problem. Fixed it and will post it later:)
Although I wasn't getting an error so I could still use that error message. There are a couple current errors with whisp as well one nil error if you use DBM (new version) and another one I can't remember atm. I changed my local copy.
Today i wanted to see the whisp config screen and typed '/whisp'
i got:

It works for me. running stand alone.

Localization doesn't work, besides this, everything is the same as before it was ace'ed 3.
No whisp button makes me sad...
if i could i would make it myself.

I had the same problem: my LDB-object was on the top of the screen and I didn't see anything because the tooltip was out of screen.
