UPDATE: 1/1/08 Due to RL issues, I have stopped playing WoW and stopped maintaining all addons I was working on. I do not anticipate returning, however there is always a chance that I will get a wild hair up my arse and decide to come back. Sorren came back for a little bit and did a few small changes, but it appears that he has no interest in becoming an active maintainer for this project. If anyone wants to pick this project up, or needs support, hop into IRC at irc.freenode.net #wowace and ask anyone there. Sorry to all that this impacts, but my family has become more important than anything. Also: Do not email me for support for this addon or any other. If you have encouraging words, feel free. -Speeddymon
CooldownTimers2 is a rewrite of the original CooldownTimers by the original author, Sorren.
Sorren has since quit contributing to the site, and project, and I have assumed the role of maintainer.
CooldownTimers2 is an addon that allows you to keep track your skill, pet, and item cooldowns, by displaying a customizable bar on your screen that counts down how long is left on a cooldown, and then optionally notifies you when the cooldown has expired with a customizable message on the screen.
It features 3 independent sets of cooldown groups, skills, pet, and items, and each cooldown can be further added to a "condense group" so that cooldowns that are shared between items and/or skills can be grouped together in 1 bar. The configuration consists of slash commands, a config window using waterfall, and a dropdown menu off either the icon in your fubar, or off the icon on your minimap.
Do not use niagara or rock to configure this addon, as the options were setup for use only within this addon's waterfall and slash command setup.
It also features the profile configuration, so that you can set it up on one character, and then copy that look and feel to any of your other characters.
This addon is not to be confused with CooldownTimers 2.0 which is a different rewrite of the original CooldownTimers, but done by a different author. If you need support with that addon, please see the forum thread at http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=2192.0
The best way to tell which one you are using is to determine where you downloaded CooldownTimers2 from. If you downloaded it from http://files.wowace.com, or thru the WowAceUpdater (WAU), then you have my version. If you got it from anywhere else, you most likely have the other version.
As with all addons, there is a possibility for bugs. Here are some that are known and being investigated.
-Everlasting Spore Frond's cooldown appears to suffer a bug in the blizzard side of the interface, and can either show the correct time to cooldown, or can get stuck at 11:59, or can show some really far off cooldown, such as 50 days
-Bars require a minimum of 2 colors. What that means is that if you do not want the bars to change colors as the cooldown gets closer to expiring, you must specify the single color you want it to be twice (ex: if you want the bar to always be red, you would need to set the color as "red red")
Coming soon: There will be a complete rewrite of this addon, with a new name, and more highly optimized code. The rewrite will contain all features of this addon, as well as the ones below:
-SCT/Parrot/MSBT support
-User-changeable sounds via SharedMedia/SharedMediaLib
-Debating putting in simple and advanced config mode
-Most likely will have realtime updates on test bars and on real bars, when any bar-changing options change
Yes, I know about that one, and I am working on it. I think the problem stems from dewdrop. The menus to change the groups are nested far down, so when you move something into a new group, the menu for that something goes away, which causes the lua error. I'll probably just completely redo the menu. As for creating and deleting the cooldown groups, I'll look into it a little later today.
It's great to see that someone is keeping this mod afloat as I prefer this addon over hourglass. Would it be possible to implement multiple sounds to associate with specific items/abilities once their cooldown timer runs out? Something that would compliment or replace the message that pops up, for example, Mortal Strike cooldown expires, which triggers a user defined sound effect. As a warrior, I find it much more intuitive to hear a sound associated with an event rather than read it, since my eyes are typically focused somewhere else rather than timer bars or pop up messages. Thanks again and keep up the good work!

I think it's definitely doable, but I'm not sure about making it user-definable, simply because most users (myself included) dont even know the path and filenames of all of the sound files the game has. Now, I might be able to make it so that you can play sounds that are not part of the game, but that I include with the distro.. Perhaps an addon to CDT2. Maybe files like:
I've fixed the LUA errors when Removing a Skill or Item from a group, and when Deleting a group. The menu will now close when you perform those actions.
I have a weird issue.. I'm trying to change the width of a bar (I've merged everything into the "CDT" group), but every time I mouse over the area to change it.. it doesn't work. I can't actually get to the bar, the menu closes.
Can you tell me which menu entries you are selecting to get to there? There are several different places to change the bar width. Default options, group options, etc.
the blacklist keeps me coming back to this! I really like to see all my important cd's at once so I don't have to shift/press mod keys to see if I can cast/use :)
I would like to see profiles and sct/parrot support.
also I notice that neverending spore frond always shows a 11:59 not its current cooldown remaining. problem was present on omnicc as well.

Default Bar Settings -> Bar Width
I finally got there, but it's still a pain and takes too long to get the menu open, would be nice if you could open up a window kind of like Quartz has with all of the options there instead of a right click style menu, but I guess that's personal preference

I'm looking into adding support for waterfall, and therefore, niagara, which is a gui for the slash commands, and in this case for the menu.
As for the menu closing, I am unable to reproduce it. Perhaps there is another addon running that is causing it.

The blacklist? You should be able to see all of your cd's at once, unless there is something I am missing.
SCT and Parrot support are forthcoming, may take me a while, I'm still an ace noob. Profiles are already in. They were there before I did anything... :-/
Neverending spore frond's cd showing as 11:59 may be a bug on blizz's end. If OmniCC and CDT are showing it, I dont think there is much I can do, as they both use GetContainerItemCooldown, which is a blizz function to return the current cooldown info... I'll look into it either way.
yeah, the blacklist, as in never show these cd's. I carry 3 mounts, I don't need to see their cd, and this mod lets me ignore that :)
profiles in, eh? I must takre a closer look, every time I go back to an alt I need to set it up, I'm probably just not using the default for some reason.
oh, and it does let me see all my cd's that's why I like it ;)

Yeah I'm not aware of a profile system either - unless it has been added in the past month or so during my time away from CDT2. I hate having to setup this addon for every toon. Also, would be nice if it showed realtime on the test bars when you adjust height, width, bartype, etc. Currently you have to have a new test bar appear each time a change is made to see the result of it.
no profiles, in game now and none. i makes it easier for alts, although i do have my current ui down to a science :P 15 min max!!
See attached screenshot. I have different profiles setup for my main vs my alt
hrmmm... so whats up with that? i get it of WAU is that why? guess i need to nuke the saved var file if that doesn't work. i have the latest off WAU and have no profiles in the menu.
thanks for the screenie, pics or it didn't happen :P

WAU shouldn't be a problem, I just nuked the addon dir on my box and regot it from WAU and profiles are still there.
What revision does WAU show for you?

On a side note:
Added Preliminary support for Waterfall config. Get revision r45332. New menu option: GUI Configuration.
The GUI looks the same as it did in Niagara, meaning you have to click Show Menu and still have to setup the options via the menu, but this is a start
