Recap records damage, healing, and other combat-related events in the area around the player.
When installing Recap, please first remove any existing Recap folder from your "World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns" folder.
If experiencing problems with Recap, sometimes it is a bug, and sometimes your saved variables file may be damaged. It is always worth seeing whether removing the saved variables file fixes the problem. To do that, exit the game and go into your "World of Warcraft/WTF/Account/<accountname>/SavedVariables" folder and remove the "Recap.lua" and "Recap.lua.bak" files.
If you have downloaded a copy of Recap from WoWAce and are getting errors, please try downloading from here (curse.com) and see if the error goes away. Note that I do not upload to WoWAce and can not fix errors there.
When reporting a bug, please mention the version number, and double-check it by looking at the bottom of the Recap Options panel.
Note: if you use an addon that loads Parser-3.0, and if the Parser-3.0 "compatibility layer" is enabled so as to override the ParserLib used by Recap, then be aware that Recap has not been tested with Parser-3.0.
A) Not Hawksy
B) Unable to touch Recap on the SVN, because it won't let me
C) Possibly able to answer some questions about Recap
****NOTE: THE INFORMATION BELOW APPLIES TO A PRIOR RELEASE OF RECAP****
However, if you currently use Recap, and have used the most recent commit from the SVN, please open your Recap.toc folder in Notepad (or a similar program) and add the following line to the very end:
This will cause the errors to go away, with the added bonus of having a functioning Recap again. Questions I might be able to answer here, but you'd be better off going to the thread on Curse and asking Hawksy directly. Feature requests posted here will probably never be acknowledged, so please direct those to the comments for the addon on Curse also.

Yeah, I've fixed it on my client. But it seems a bit much to expect the thousands of other WAU updaters to also manually patch their copies.
I tried to check in a fix but got an error. I've never checked anything into the SVN before so I don't know if it's my own account (username nelson) or a general problem with the repository permissions. The error was
I've used recap since 1.6, and haven't even thought twice about another damage meter. Just from looking at the Fisheye, things should work just fine now. However, just remember that further bug reports should go to the official thread on curse!
Thanks again to Hawksy for keeping a great addon up and running!
So, this is very confusing.... it appears the WowAce Recap is a parallel project as the files are different the the ones presented on Curse.com
UGH... mirror the files or change the name!
I am not crazy... go download from both sites and examine the unzipped files!
No, its not a "parallel project" on the Wowace SVN. Its the same Recap as put on Curse by Hawksy, but uploaded to Wowace by a different person. What files are different (besides the lib directory arrangement)? Both the Curse & Wowace versions are Recap v3.77 currently on this end.
One thing that _is_ different, though: the Wowace Recap version is very often a few days (or longer) behind the latest Curse release. Which makes keeping up with bug fixes, etc. slightly more difficult.
If confused, just use the release on Curse. Hopefully soon Hawksy himself will start mirroring his releases on the Wowace SVN instead of that other person.
