Zooming in combat routinely saves me and my party from dying. I don't suppose you ever find yourself in awkward places where banners are between your viewpoint and your character. I've seen it way too much in Shadow Labyrinth, for one. I can't think of another similar place right off, but I know there are other places.
And about the long-lived buffs... 5-minute blessings? lol. But to address Fear Ward, I would guess that's something you want up at all times, as long as you have the spell. It's sort of like mage armors and Inner Fire, where it might not ever actually be used (depending on which mage armor you use, and if you never actually get hit) but if it ever is used, you know about it, and it made all those other times you wasted the buff all worth it.
And about the long-lived buffs... 5-minute blessings? lol.
Yeah, i know :p. But it is supposed to be longer than a single non-boss fight.

There is buffs that only worth being cast in-combat. As all logicial is disabled in-combat, the only practical solution I see is something like a "buffbar". I'm thinking about it. It could be a SSR module with the following features :
- select buff category button to display or not,
- display current buff for each category (for those with multiple choices) with remaining time,
- click on the buff button to recast it,
- hover the buff button open a popup (like PT3Bar or AutoBar) with all available buffs.
- optional keybindings.
I've been looking for an Ace addon to replace SmartBuff for me. I get the following on my rogue, however upon logging into the game. This is with the latest revision of SSR just downloaded via WAU this morning.

Here was my situation and also what I did to fix it.
Lvl 20 mage using SSR for:
Wizard Oil
Frost Armor
Arcane Intellect
I wouldn't cast AI. Finally when I hovered over the SSR on Fubar I noticed that it was set to "Track Herbs". Since I'm Tailor/Enchanting, tracking Herbs isn't an option for me. After going to the tracking options menu choice, I had to select "None" and everything seems to be working.
Probably should have everything defaulted to "none" from the beginning.
Since zooming in combat hardly saves me from dying but manashield does it would be nice to implement it anyway...Please, so i can get rid of SB

Yes I did, and in that case I just ROTATE the camera .....
I really love this kind of conversations: I ask for an feature to be implemented, then someone starts philosophical debate on it and tries to convince me how I really dont need it ....
I SIMPLE ASKED FOR A FEATURE ! If it`s not possible just say so .....

It is possible. The addon author just doesn't think it worths it. And this kind of conversations happens quite often about wowace addons.

I'm not sure to understand : you had tracking listed under Intellect ???

No, it had 4 buffs listed. One was tracking. Somehow it was set to "Track Herbs" when I really can't track anything. Because of this, I was having problems. Those problems went away when I switched "tracking" to none.

Found why you had this weird settings. Should be fixed since revision 43206.

Rogue part is a little broken:
there is a typo at line number 8
local function registerPoison(categoryName)
it should be:
local function registerPoisons(categoryName)
an s is missing in the declaration that trow an error when this function is called at line 40
Even if u fix this the GetCateogry() is not defined anywhere within the addon.
Very promising addon though. Looking forward to use this, so i can get rid of SmartBuff. :)

Diabolique, maybe the feature is possible, and maybe the author simply hadn't considered it. Likewise, if the feature is possible and the author does choose to implement it, I want the author to know that maybe not everyone wants this feature--so it should be implemented in a way that not everyone will want it. Sometimes features are good to set up as default operation without an option to turn it off. This is one feature that isn't so. Perhaps that's all I meant.

This is related to weapon buffs. Did you use a wizard oil or something like that ? (Should be fixed anyway).

I'm working on it, as for every group-wide buffs like prayers, TSA, greater blessings, aspect of the pack/wild. Please check last revision.
