Here is the Lua file that was causing problems...try it maybe on your machine to see if it produces the same problem. If it does, maybe you will be able to pin point it...if im not able to reproduce the problem.
I have huge memory spikes with KCI when hovering over items at the AH, but not with my bags as far as I can tell. I started a thread discussing the issue here:
WoW 2.3 live, USEng server/client. r46856/r55401 (only difference between them is the TOC "## Interface: 20300" change in the latter). Do a scan with all categories selected. Sometime between being halfway and 2/3 of the way through the categories, the following error occurs:
"KC_Items-1.0.38138\\KC_Items.lua:234: attempt to index local 'link' (a nil value)"
This error repeats over 20 times before the scan finishes. Scanned a second time on another character after relogging; same error occurs after halfway through the scan.
Still have to test to see if the scans are being recorded properly or not with that error being thrown up (with a new saved variables file; am using an old one from before the patch). Also will be seeing exactly in which category the error is first thrown up in.
KC_Items-1.0.38138\\KC_Items.lua:234: attempt to index local 'link' (a nil value)\n\n. 26 repeats.
This has been happening regularly during AH scans in WoW 2.3 live. I have refrained from bumping the thread, but am doing now three weeks after the first report because I'm tired of continually running into this bug :-\.
Happening regularly as in not 100% of the time. Something around 50% of the time. From the evidence seen so far, its bugging out on one or more of the new items types introduced in WoW 2.3 that may not always be up for sale in the AH.
Have yet to hang around staring at it during a scan when the error has appeared to see which item categories its happening in. Its definitely not at the start of the Weapons category, though ;). Every time I've had the spare time to stare at a full scan, it completes without problems. After those scans where I do have time to stare at it, immediately repeating a scan won't induce an error. Presumably because a new item type KC_Items bugs out on hasn't been put up in the AH yet. Only get the error when I usually do scans: at the end of a day's session with an AFK logout afterwards (of course).
Hopefully this bug/problem will be fixed sometime.
If I enable KC_Items and hover over certain item everything freezes and have to reboot wow.
Happens with netherweb spider silk, arcane dust and other.
Any1 has solved ?
Love kc_items and would like to keep it ;)

Never had that problem and still don't with constant use of the latest KC_Items r60306 in WoW 2.3.3 live.
Sounds like a different tooltip-info addon is causing the problem. Several tooltip-info addons improperly spike CPU usage when mousing over an item/displaying a tooltip; not KC_Items though. Or you are using KC_Items on the test servers (WoW 2.4 PTR)?
Tried disabling all other addons and the problem persisted.
Now I have deleted the .lua file in the savedvariables directory and it works.
The problem is, that way I lose all my prices db :(
Any hint ?
its likely bad data associated with just a handful of items that somehow causes this. I don't have better fix atm, but if you could send me your files so I could look over them (when I get a chance) I'd like to.
I know I've been super busy getting various things done, so I'm sorry I've not been able to contribute as much time as I'd like to the project.
However I do have a lot of things I want to do and plan to do. Now that Ace3 is approaching release I'm going to need to update for that transition. (which will be nice since I'm pretty sure it'll lower memory usage). I also want to standardize and break out some of the subcomponent. I'm also going to see about some integration with OneBag, got some neat ideas of things I can do there.

I surely wish to send you my files if you tell me how ;)
I think you mean the .lua file btw.
Let me know !

I hope you didn't mind my lil update to KCItems to get the 48hrs as duration check. I didn't really ask ...

This needs updating regardless.

any news about this ?
Fence does not seem to work any longer (no way to get the last used prices).
Thumbs up for kaelten ;)
I've deleted the integrated Fence and now I'm using the standalone one...

He's talking about the Saved Variables files, they are .lua files but not the actual addon files.
