Feature Request: Open the Inventory not only by clicking on the Backpack, but on any of your 5 Bags. It seems odd, but i am so used to this behavior (sind AllInOneInventory) that i am sticking with Bagnon right now.
it used to do that along time ago, turned out messy for some reason, i can't remember why, so i just stuck to the backpack.

Feature Request: Closetgnome support
already exists, use outfit()
Ahh i must have missed the Closetgnome support. No chance to add support for clickable bags?
2.00 (28-JUN-2007) (BETA 2007-JUN-28-21-45)
* fixed - bank items not updating their icons when moved out
* added - items can be added to existing (enabled, undamaged, compiled) rules when in edit mode by clicking on the item and choosing "add to rule" - note that it's currently possible to have that rule open in edit mode so if save it then your edit mode item changes will not be there any longer
* added - bag highlighting, when you mouse over a bag the slots in that bag are highlighted
* added - menu option (under window) to change the bag highlighting colour
* info - removed the exclamation marks from all the text

i'll think about it :) need to remember why it was removed.
The only thing I would like to see, and I'm not sure its possible, is for the rules to be profile independent. If I set up a bunch of rules, I don't want to have to redo those for each guy I'm setting up as a good chunk are class independent. If I copy over my profile, then all my bag assignments go with it, and those are not the same from character to character.
i thought the rules were global (just like custom categories were), which bar you place them on is per profile though.
or do you mean that when you create a new profile there should be no rules on it? ie rules are linked to profiles and not global
I would swear that the rules are per profile and not global. I distinctly remember logging in a character and not having any rules when i switched to a per character profile. I will log on a new toon and see if I have any rules for him when using a profile other than default tonight.
What I want is them to be global, so I can set them up and use them for any character without having to redo them on each one or have to copy profiles that will include bag assignments that I don't want.

i think that would be cool; global rules list and profile specific bag structure. so if I add naga scales to tailoring it goes to all profiles instead of me updating each profile as i get it. i think thats what you are saying :P
I have been using one profile for all my toons, but latley have been toyong with a more orginized approach to my bags, with intermittant internet (boo again comcast) I cherish my online time for dailies and pvp, come friday when att comes to town hopefully i'll be able to delve into a new bag congig.
On your wiki page, you said that ItemRack hadn't been updated for TBC. Does the "2.0" beta (which shows up on the addon menu as 3.0 (lol) count? http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info6818-ItemRack2.0-beta.html. That's what I use atm, but I might switch to ClosetGnome.
From testing I found that I couldn't write my own rules. I went to the rules interface, clicked new, checked the box, gave an order of 1, typed in the description (Leatherworking), and I can't add anything else. I tried even dragging an item into the window. What am I missing here?
I'm using the version from Curse-gaming, 07-Jun-28-21-15 (though the addon in the game has a header 21-45). I couldn't find the branch going through http://www.wowace.com/trac/browser/branches?rev=35668&order=name. I'm now downloading the WowAce SVN copy. I'll see if there's any new developments on this front.
I haven't tried todays update (will be shortly) but you should just have to click right after Formula:
then you can enter your text. I find it sometimes difficult to click correctly to select the place to enter though and (at least on my screen) I cant really see where the box to type starts so it can be hit or miss.
Perhaps have the rule input section an offcolor and make the more of the area accept clicks instead of only right after Formula: might help.
Thanks, Cal. I'm going to put that little note in the Rules wiki page. It's rather important! Since you can tab between the rule number and the description and bearing in mind the little confusion there, tab should work to get to the rule formula section. My edit to the wiki
I agree that some rules should be global for characters thus why I said use the default profile if you want them to be global.
My main is on it's own profile. None of the Rules are on any of my characters, I like it that way.
I log onto an alt (my bank) use the default profile and create some rules, Cloth, recipes ETC.
I log onto another alt and use the default profile but if I make another rule on that account it deletes default rules.
They are global if you use the default profile but if you want to make more it deletes all default rules (verified on today's update). I'm unsure that if you make them and then switch to your own profile if it keeps them in default or makes them just for that character.
I think that all rules should be global but you can have a check mark on whether it is enabled for that character. Things like "Leather Plus" I don't want to use on a warrior or pally but I would like to use it on my clothies.
I would swear that the rules are per profile and not global. I distinctly remember logging in a character and not having any rules when i switched to a per character profile.
rule are supposed to be global, rule to bar assignments are per character, if you create a new character/profile then you should get the rules but they're all assigned to the default bar.
but it looks like i screwed up and the rules are actually per profile. will fix it as soon as i figure out if it'll break anything else.

damn annoying isn't it. i've added default text of "false" so that should help. never really been sure why you can't just click anywhere in there to start editing.

tab should work to get to the rule formula section.
if you can find a way to tab to a sublevel element please let me know as i had to code in the ability to tab (blizzard doesn't seem to have one) but it only works between elements on the same level.
Anytime frame for when this will show up as Arkinventory (beta) on WAU?
never. WAU only picks up trunk code, this is branched code. i didn't want people getting the beta without realising (which is what would happen if i made it trunk) and you can't have two mods with the same directory on the SVN for WAU to pick up.
it'll stay in branch until i'm happy that most of the bugs are out. i actually thought it was pretty much ready to go until someone noticed that the rules werent global. once i fix that, and i think i have, then it'll go back to trunk and get released.
you can always pick up the betas from wowui or curse if you don't have an SVN client to pull it from here.
One little problem I've noticed is that if an item is removed from a closetgnome equipment set, ArkInventory continues to treat it as though it's still a part of a set.
For example...
1. I create an "outfit()" rule and place it in slot 5.
2. All ClosetGnome items move to slot 5, as they should.
3. In ClosetGnome, I remove an item from a set.
4. That item stays in slot 5 in ArkInventory, instead of losing its "outfit" status and moving back to my "soulbound" slot.

item categories are cached now to speed it up. editing a rule clears the cache. i'll change the refresh button to do the same thing.

* fixed - clicking on a bag (in the blizzard bag frame) will now toggle AI - it was being ignored previously
* unfixed - clicking on a bag is back to being ignored, it was annoying when you clicked on a bag in the AI changer frame it would close AI, not fun
the bag changer frame in AI is a mirror of your bag bar, and as clicking on them toggles the bag open/close you'd end up closing the AI window if you clicked on a bag.
What I want is them to be global, so I can set them up and use them for any character without having to redo them on each one or have to copy profiles that will include bag assignments that I don't want.
ok, good news, rules are now really global. bad news, beta users are probably going to lose their rules as i can't figure out a safe way to automatically convert them at the moment - you can always restore your 1.45 file and it'll upgrade that properly.
if you take a backup of your 2.00 file you can pull the formulas out of there and paste them back in.
btw, it's currently setup to enable the rules on new profiles. good or bad? should it default to disabled so you have to go in and enable each rule if you want to use it? (presumably were talking about a new profile and not a copied one)

I didn't realize that rules could be enabled/disabled tbh. Is there a performance hit if a rule is enabled but not actually assigned to a bar? Not really sure why it would matter what state the rules are in if they aren't actively assigned. Is this to save menu space if you have alot of rules?
I guess I am happy to just have them all available to enable/disable and not have to redo them for each character. I could say have the default state enabled, but then 5 people will post saying that they would prefer it to be disabled. *shrug*

only in my working copy atm.
yep, if a rule is enabled then items are checked against it because if it's not assigned to a bar then items that match go to the default bar.
