lots of temporary data is now a bug? will have to remember that one.
garbage collection is done by the client when needed - you'd only do it yourself at the start of a (boss) fight (to ensure a gc didnt kick in mid fight) but as you'd not repeatedly open/close ai during a fight then theres no temp data being created/deleted so theres really no need - just let the client handle it.
Why do I feel this one is a throw off from my post lol :)
I must be a real stickler for memory, I just like seeing under 90mb. But, i do understand that alot of it is temp data from rebuilding the same data over and over again.
As for the doctor, well...I never purposely hurt myself to show him, but when they ask me if something they did hurts....I kick em!
On a serious side though, why, when after the bags are closed does AI still have an increasing mem rate? could that just be lat side issues? other than that I am going to take a break on my rant about overall mem usage as I have tried other bag addons in a vain attempt to lower it.
I failed horribly and I have come groveling back to yours, please forgive me oh addon god!
lots of temporary data stored in tables when building the display, they get cleaned up (nil'd) and thrown on the garbage heap when it's done so dont open your windows a million times :)
That seems like a suboptimal design if you consider typical usage scenarios, as the average user is likely to open and close his/her bags quite often, ensuring that multiple set of orphaned table data will be sitting on the garbage heap at all times. Would it be possible to do something like allocating and re-use a single, static set of tables instead?
I have so many addons running that WoW crashes when I log out. Main memory hogs are Census+, Personal Sentry, and Auctioneer Advanced. AI doesn't even register. Blizzard's recommendation to fix the crash (in spite of my having like 10 times the necessary memory) is to remove all my addons. -.-
That said, if memory could be optimized in any of my addons, maybe even by running automatic garbage collections or whatever, it'd be greatly appreciated.
there was nothing wrong with ai on the test realm last night as there were no changes made to any of those api functions it uses.
just for fun, disable all mods except ai and then log in, does it work?
i'll be updating all the libs (which is where i suspect there is an issue) when i get home from work tonight so if there is a problem in one of them i should get it and i can look at changing ai to wrok with whatever has changed in there.
ai comes embedded with all the libs it needs, if you use standalone libs and update them before i do then i have no idea if it'll have issues with them or not.
I wasn't having a problem, I was asking if anyone else did. =P
yours was first so it got quoted :) i couldnt find anything wrong with ai and i've been running it all day so im going to assume something happened to those users standalone libraries.
2.27.01 has been uploaded so see if there are any problems with that version

I've noticed many items; especially food/water, grays and quest items (too many to list) now show as being 'Default Assignment: Unknown'. Not a big deal to just reclassify them, just letting you know of the issue. :) If you do want a list I can supply examples, but as stated there are many items; all of my characters, from my lowly lvl 1 bank toons, to my 2 70s had items have their defaults set to unknown.
Apologize in advance if this question has been asked before, but I currently can't read the whole thread-
How do you change the size of the title bar to be a one line, and how do you change/add bars inside of the bag? I couldn't find either of those in the options, and I'd like to change my inventory to look like the screen shots on the main page.
