I'll see what I can do about forking it into a new addon in trunk, probably within a couple of days. That should make things easier for everybody.
Has this been done yet?
no it hasn't. currently you have 2 options: pull down /branches/Hourglass/Mist/Hourglass via an SVN client, or go to svn.wowace.com - navigate to that folder listed and open core.lua and copy it into what you have.

Well, I was going to do it and add some extra features like blacklists and individual announce customizations, but then Speeddymon resurrected CooldownTimers2. So I thought there's no point, since CDT2 can fill the needs of those looking for more customization.
At this point, I don't plan to do a fork or add new features, but I will do my best to fix bugs if there are any.
One thing you might want to change/add is move it over to Sink to allow it to use parrot/etc without having to have special code, I changed mine locally a while back but never got around to saying anything about it, should only need to change the following:
The addon object to include Sink, around line 2ish
And finally change the Message function to just read:
self:Pour(name .. " Ready!",.2,.7,.9)
It should then seamlessly add the options to the Hourglass Dewdrop, assuming I didn't miss a change somewhere:( heh
The problem about adding SinkLib support is that the addon will need more externals. So the method of just downloading the modified files into the Hourglass directory won't work for everybody, leading to complications.
I had the idea of adding it in the fork, but as I explained in the post above, I abandoned the fork option because I don't think there's much point in it since CDT2 has an active maintainer now.
I'll second that notion. I just recently replaced my ancient copy of oCD with Hourglass. Don't see myself moving to CT2 even if it is under active development...

Makes sense. I'm using CDT2 anyway, so no big deal here. Just wanted to see what all the hype was about.
Provided i may have the blessing of the origional author of hourglass, and any contributors
i'll combine and "maintain" an "ExtendedHourglass" version that has all the extra features that have been commonly requested. Basicly Mist's version and Nirek's addition of SinkLib Support for SCT stye addons as well as any other bug fixes / additions.
i would rather leave the current version of Hourglass as is, as origionality is for the Author or Authors to change not someone else
Also, it doesn't show any timers for unequipped trinkets/items.
This is not supported by default, you will need to use the modified version found at http://svn.wowace.com/wowace/branches/Hourglass/Mist/Hourglass/ (use an SVN client or download the files into your Hourglass directory). Or wait until OrionShock branches ExtendedHourglass.

Good idea, you have my blessing for what I contributed. :P

Thanks, is there a way to "blacklist" the Hearthstone?
I'm having trouble finding the variable that sets the colors for the bars their backgrounds... could someone help me? :(
Also.. call me picky (I know I am), but is there a way to change the format and side of the countdown? I want to make it look the same as ClassTimers and ElkBuffBars (Name anchored at the left, countdown at the right).

Does it happen only in Ruins of Lordaeron? Because Hourglass checks for Blade's Edge and Nagrand arenas to reset timers, but not Ruins of Lordaeron.
For a fix read http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=6207.msg119261#msg119261.

Thanks
Hourglass won't show the Hearthstone cooldown if you set the maximum time to less than 1 hour, for example 1800 (30 minutes).
As for the other questions, there is currently no way to do any of them.
ItemCDs working fine
what to do?
Were any of the changes to Hourglass ever released in a practical manner?
sorry i will not be committing it to trunk; it's more a matter of formality as i am not the author and it is not my place to do so..
