I seem to be having an issue with ChannelNames. It has the option to let you click on the name and open a new chat in the one.
A few days ago I turned that on to play with it, and it seemed to work nice the little I used it at the time. As of last night it seems to have started to not work right. It's now getting confused or somthing about what channel name I clicked. For Example, I click on guild chat and it opens a line for Raid: , not Guild: and it's not the right color either (green for Guild, etc.), or I click on Say and I see a pink Say:.
get this error when I try to send a messeage and it's not looking like its actually trying to chat in the one I expected when cliking the Name to start talking there.
SendChatMessage(): Channel send missing channel number
(attached an image of it doing what I'm talking about)
Sorry if this is a repost of a previous question, but my battlegroup is lacking quite a few names on the Server Names list so I was wondering how to add the ones that are missing. Thanks.
there is a modul in prat, which can replace textmsgs in the chat. so you can replace "Nios is now offline." with "Nios OFFLINE" and "Nios is now online." with "Nios ONLINE".
It's the modul "CustomFilters". (CustomFilters by Sylvanaar - Allows create filters for inbound/outbound chat that replace/remove/highlight chat message text (default=off).)
This was posted in the UI thread and was wondering if someone could give a little more detail in how to do these custom filters, particularly the one inside the above quote.
NB. For all those that suggest it, I did use the search function and came up with nada.

I had a couple of questions about Prat I was wondering if someone could answer...
I've been trying to find a chat addon that would allow me to hide the chat frame during combat and allow rerouting of chat messages to any output source (raid, error, parrot, sct, /dev/null, etc)
Is there anything in Prat (or anything else, if someone knows it) to allow me to do that?
Does anyone know of an appropriate search string to pull out only chat items through ChatFilter and not the combat log entries? I've tried doing a \[.*, which would seem correct, but it doesn't match anything. .*, of course, grabs everything, which isn't what I'm looking for.
question about formatting /whispers. with the config I have now (which is what I got out of the box by installing via the wowaceupdater), an outbound /w looks like this in my chatbox:
[hh:mm:ss] [LL:name]: your whisper here
inbound whispers look the same. what I want is something more like this:
[hh:mm:ss] to: [LL:name]: your whisper here
(note the "to:" part) so that I can actually differentiate between inbound and outbound whispers to/from the same person. I've been through all the options lists several times now and haven't found anything appropriate. how do I do this?
I'm using version 2.0 57869. I've dug around here in the forums a bit, but didn't come up with a search term that was a winner. thanks in advance for any insight.

for me i have:
hh:mm:ss [W From] [lvl:Name]: (lvl only if its known)
hh:mm:ss [W To] [lvl:Name]: (lvl only if its known)
Without any major changes of any settings, just turning modules on/of.
I have also changed the color slighly on outgoing whispers (making em darker about 40%) then the incoming.
But to make changes just look in the "ChannelNames" module and then Whisper/Incoming Whisper menus, set "replace" and type in whatever you want it to say in the box.
I'm not sure if this is an isolated problem, but when switching from toons without prat enabled to toons with prat enabled, Prat Module becomes Loadable OnDemand and of course doesn't run, requiring a complete game restart to get working, not sure if I've screwed something up or have a setting wrong or missing something, any solutions?
I can't get the alias module working - it's not even showing up in the modules, nor adding slash commands. The files are present in the modules directory, tho :/
I spent like one hour checking if it has been disabled or something, but couldn't find a single word about it since 2007 May. Could somebody help me out please? :)
I have a problem with prat and i don't know its by me or a config thing.
If i open a chattab via "enter" the "wasd" and arrows on tastatur didnt work anymore, so i cant move the char ingame.
If you mean that you open the little window into which you can enter text and send it to the chat, then the keyboard is tied to that window, so you can't use them for other purposes. Nothing to do with prat.

You may be hiding disabled modules. Turn off the AutoLOD / hide option.

any solutions for this ?
In the default UI, when you open the edit box (where you type chat into) disables the wasd movement keys (you're typing words - you need those letters ;) ) but you can still use the arrow keys to navigate your character. If you wish to navigate through the edit box with the arrow keys, you need to hold down Alt.
With Prat installed, the Edit Box module has an option where you don't need to hold down alt to move around in the edit box with the arrow keys. I always disable that option. :)
I really wish there is a full forum dedicated to all wowace addons or at least sticky threads or a better search feature. I feel bad asking the same questions, but I just could not find the answers, so here I go.
1. Does Prat have a "instant message" feature for whispers? I used to have WIM (wow instant messenger) and now I use Cellular, but I would really like to see Prat w/ that feature so I don't have to use 2 mods for one (chat) function.
2. I've seen this before, but never found out how to activate it. When I typed several lines, and before I could type the next new line, I could (by default) arrow key up or down to choose previously entered conversations. For example, this is useful for LFG (LFG tank - heroic SV) that I can arrow-up and press enter to have that line repeated in the same channel (for example, /2 city, or /1 general). How do I re-activate it?
3. Is there a wiki or a tutorial on how to create our own modules? Is that even possible? (I mean, not with coding, but more of a 'config').
Thanks for your comments! (and sorry if these questions have been answered before)

U would also love some help with seting that up.

I'd like to third the request for documentation on the custom filters stuff.
I'm guessing it's just not supported in macros. It seems Prat intercepts /tt at the typing level.
Thanks.

I bet you can still move with the mouse.

In short, turn it off in the edit box module.
