OK. I would like to see if anyone who knows anything about the WoW's engine and Ace2 would like to help improve cyCircled a little bit. I myself don't know a heck of a lot about LUA, but a little programming experience. Here's what I have in mind so far:
- Find a way to separate the "gloss" texture from the main texture. There's a couple reasons for this. For one thing, it'd make skins more versatile. A user could select a skin, THEN choose whether or not to apply its gloss.
- Fix the equip option so it applies the correct texture. For some reason, the "equip" state is using the overlay texture even when specifying a different texture.
I took a quick stab this morning (really a very late night for me) at trying to create a plugin for TrinityBars.
I was able to properly skin only the first button, or improperly skin all 120 buttons. I can't quite figure out the proper code to get cyCircled to correctly iterate through all the buttons. I didn't even take a stab at trying to do the bag, pet, or class buttons. The Trinity code makes my head hurt.
If someone can come up with a workable plugin for Trinity, it can probably be included. But I'm pussing out on it, myself. I use Bongos and BT3 myself anyway. ;)
I took a stab at a Trinity Bar skin for cyCircled this weekend. It looks OK. Due to the lack of layer support in cyCircled it can't be perfect, but using the resources from TrinityBars it can be close with a lil Photoshop. If an additional layer - like a specific Gloss layer or top layer was added to cyCircled itself, it could get better. I've never used TrinityBars so I'm just going off the resources and screenies. :)
Also, I've noticed the flash doesn't always work properly. Sometimes I need to swap between skins to get it to work. And I think ItemRack cooldowns from OmniCC are still behind the buttons, not sure if it's cyC or OmniCC there...
Erhm . . . those are nifty . . . but I think what people are requesting (and what I took a very brief and abortive stab at) is a plugin for cyCircled so that it will skin the TrinityBars buttons . . . not so much a TrinityBars-style skin for cyCircled.
