I'm sorry... I've read this whole thread, I've read the wiki page... I still don't understand the paging. :( All I want to do is to be able to press Shift-4 to go to my PvP bar when I PvP or do arena. I changed the action sets for bar 1 to 4, but now I don't get what I'm supposed to do to make the Shift-4 part work.
I feel really dumb. :(
Ok, before the sliders on the paging tab were not moving, so that is why I think I couldn't figure out how to do it. I kept changing the number of action sets for the bar, but the sliders were all stuck on 1. Now they are moving.
I have 4 action bars; 3 are visible, the 4th is hidden but full of buttons. I set up bar 1 to have 4 action sets. I moved the Paging slider for "Page 4" to 4. Now, when I hit shift-4, I get all empty buttons in bar 1.
Tried this today and unless I'm seriously missing some config somewhere, it is a massive downgrade from Bongos2.
The inability to have more than one action bar showing, having independent scaling/opaceness/sizing of each bar I find to be a grievious ommission.
Please tell me I'm missing something on the config screen. I cannot get to any sort of config setup like bongos2 where it shows me all the bars where I can right/left/center click them that I can see.
Not sure what you're missing... are you in Europe on a non 2.4 server? Bongos3 does all the things you want, but only in 2.4. Also, to create a new bar you use a option-drag (I think)... but that is clearly documented in the latest version. If you are indeed in 2.4, make sure you grab the latest beta version.

Left click the minimap icon. And boom - there you have everything you're missing. The tooltip iirc mentions this. Configuration mode.
Hei. I cant figure out why my hot keys dosnt work when i change stances.
I am a warrior and when i change stances like from battle stance to defense or berserker stance my hot keys still clicking on the keys from battlestance. all my bars is right when i am on differnt stance, but those other stances dosnt react by hitting the numbers.. only when u use your mouse clicking.
It seems an old bug from Bongos2 has resurfaced in Bongos3. When moving bars against the screen edge, you cannot click them with the mouse against the edge. Basically, the clamp to screen edge is not actually on the edge... but at least 1 pixel away from it.
Edit: This appears to only be an issue when the bar is skinned. Does not matter what skin, just that it is skinned. It seems the clickable region of a button when skinned is slightly smaller than when not-skinned.
Curse? Yes, when its done. Bongos3 is a beta download on Bongos2 for now. Incgamers is currently in the maybe pile.
Here's what I'm thinking of doing for stance configuration. Say you have a bar, and you want it to display something different in say, Shadowform. You'll do the following:
Create a new bar of the same size as the old bar.
Put your shadow form skills on that bar
Drag that bar onto the bar you want to switch in shadow form. It will become a tab of the bar you dragged it onto.
Right click the tabbed bar, and set the shadow form slider to point to that bar.
Now, lets say you don't want that bar to have a shadow form page anymore. You'd do the following
Take the tab on the bar, and drag it off. You'll now see the shadowform bar on screen again
That would be great, but what if I already have default bars 6,7,8 (or whatever) holding stance bars, create multiple 1x12 bars in Bongos3 to 'see' them again, but see their buttons on separate bars? :\ It doesn't seem to align with non-virtual bars
I'm starting to feel like I'm just talking to myself. :) It's taken me several days of trying, but I think I finally figured it out. The part of the documentation that wasn't clear (maybe it's just me) is that you don't page to a separate actual physical bar anymore. I had set up my 4th bar, hid it like in Bongos2, and was trying everything I could to page to that bar.
Left click the minimap icon. And boom - there you have everything you're missing. The tooltip iirc mentions this. Configuration mode.
That would be it. The very *first* thing I do when I download an addon is eliminate the minimap icon. There should be another way to get to this beyond a minimap button...it should be in the /bongos menu somewhere.

You're not :P
In Bongos2, you say, "This bar should show the buttons on bar3 when in cat form, and bar2 when in bear form" Lets call this bar mirroring. Bongos2 could get away with bar mirroring, since every bar has the same effective size. Bongos3, however, does not have that limitation. So telling Bongos3 that you would want bar 1 to show the buttons on bar 2, when bar 2 is 1 button, and bar1 is 30, would not make very much sense. So instead, you tell Bongos3, "This bar should have this many sets of buttons. When I'm in cat form, use set 2, when I'm in bear form, use set 3, otherwise use set 1"
There's definitely a lack of enough feedback for people to really get the system that I've put in place. That's why I'm thinking of using tabbed bars to better represent the system. You'll have instant feedback that, "this bar is actually two bars", and also, "I don't have enough buttons around to add another bar to this one"
The wacky part comes in when you attempt to dock one bar to another, when both bars are different sizes. I'm probably going to take the approach of showing a prompt: "Do you want to resize this bar to fit onto this bar?"
The second wacky part is: "how will this system look?" Having a single button with 120 distinct states would be quite funky, but not something I expect people to do.
Other stuff: The current binding system in Bongos3 does not accept special characters that may be found on other keyboards, like accented keys. Can someone provide me with their bindings file (the game one, not bongos') that contains one of these keys?
If anyone has any other ideas for doing a paging system, feel free to fire them at me.

You mean like, /bongos config or /bongos lock ? :)
I did /bongos and /bongos help and got nothing but the UI screen.
As far as I could tell, these did not exist....you might want to change the /bongos command to just list the different / options rahter than jumping straight to the UI window.

Thanks for this explanation! I had a lightbulb moment this morning and I realized vaguely that this was how it was supposed to work, but this explanation really clears up the why. :)

I think I understand how the action sets work, but I still haven't been able to get Bongos3 to shift action sets in my Tree form. Works fine for Cat and Bear - I set those to 3 and 4, respectively, and also put Prowl on 3 - but when I put Tree on 2, shifting forms doesn't trigger shifting the bar.
Essentially, Bongos3 seems to be unable to differentiate between Tree form and Caster form.
If this has been patched since Wednesday, I apologize - haven't played (or updated Bongos3) since then.
Seems to be a problem with the pet bar and non-pet classes. With my shaman tonight in kara, I couldn't get the pet bar to show for the chess event.
You don't need the pet bar... go to your primary action bar in the setup and check "use as possessed bar" or whatever the option is. It is my understanding that that will put the chess event options on your main bar (or whichever bar you designated that way).
Bongos3, however, does not have that limitation. So telling Bongos3 that you would want bar 1 to show the buttons on bar 2, when bar 2 is 1 button, and bar1 is 30, would not make very much sense. I'd like to say that, personally, I frickin' love how the system works now. For the first time since Flexbar I've an action bar/button setup that works precisely how I want, and is damn easy to setup and maintain.
It took me all of 5 minutes to figure out how to work the stances (what, there were instructions?) and set up my druid every so sweetly.

Edit: Found and fixed. Treeform is [bonusbar:2], Moonkin is [bonusbar:4]
just reinstalled bongos 2 again.. yeye.. will see if i want to give it a new shot or not.. :P
