[BUG] I've been using Bartender3 since it first came out. I've been mostly using it for my rogue, but lately I've been playing my hunter. I've noticed that on my hunter, my FPS decreases greatly. I range from 30-40 on my Rogue, but with the same mods, only 10-14 on my Hunter.
I know this could be caused my conflicting mods so I did the following;
1) Played with no mods. My FPS were normal at abut 50 FPS.
2) Played with all mods BUT Bartender3. FPS was normal, 45 FPS average.
3) Played with JUST Bartender3. FPS went down to 10-14 on Average.
4) Played with all mods INCLUDING Bartender3. FPS went down to 10-14 on Average.
This led me to believe that Bartender3 is causing me to lag, most likely from the PetBar as everything else is the same. If you could check this out to see if it is actually Bartender3 that is causing that lag or tell me to do some other tests to see if it is even Bartender3 that is the culprit. Thanks. :)
Edit: My mods are all up-to-date as well including all Libraries.
I just committed a tiny little addon called Bartender3_AutoBindings. Basically, it just sets Bartender3 hotkey text for any buttons that hold spells/items/macros you bound with SpellBinder (or any other direct-binding addon).
That way, you can bind, say, Rampage to "R", then whatever slot you put Rampage in (or even multiple slots) will show "R" as their hotkey text.
2. On Release vs On Press
- If you are referring to the 'on release' when you say 'it's the defgault game behaviour'. Then no, the default behaviour of the Blizzard UI is to do the skill when you 'Press' the button and not when you 'Release' the button.
this:
edit Bartender3_ButtonClass.lua
Find "AnyUp" and change it by "AnyDown"
In default ui you cast a spell if you pick it up and put it on an other button ? That's what happens with AnyDown.
There is an option to lock or unlock your action bars
I know, but that was not my point and it's no answer to my question ;). The default UI casts on release, just like BT3 does.

Fixes it for bartender3
That's simply wrong.. I just checked with my warrior and without any addons loaded.
OK. I've toyed with BarTender here and there, but have stuck with Bongos thus far. As a former DAB user, the main feature I'm looking for in an actionbar is the ability to have numerous actionbars of varying sizes, two of which must be able to swap on stances/forms/stealth.
So I have a questions/request:
Does Bartender3 have the ability to set bars of varying sizes without sacrificing any of the 120 buttons available in the UI?
What I mean is, I want the following setup:
Bar 1 = 8 Buttons with 4 Stances (32 buttons total)
Bar 2 = 12 Buttons
Bar 3 = 12 Buttons
Bar 4 = 10 Buttons
Bar 5 = 18 Buttons
Bar 6 = 6 Buttons with 4 Stances (24 Buttons total)
Bar 7 = 12 Buttons
-------------------------
TOTAL = 120 Buttons
I currently run this setup using 60 bars of 2 buttons each in Bongos. It works, but is a pain to setup, which happens too often as new versions of Bongos tend to kill old profiles.
If this isn't possible (and I haven't found how it is): I'd like to request it as a feature.
hi. i´ve got a problem with bartender. i´m playing a rogue. so bar number one is the shapeshift bar. the shape shift works perfect. but here is my problem.
if i didn´t go to stealth the buttons 1,2,3.... do what they should do. if i go in stealth, the bar shifts and everything works still fine. but if i use an ability in stealth, f.e. cheapshot, and i come out of stealth, the bindigs still stay at the shifted bar. so, if i press 4 then, which should be hemorrhage, the circle for disctract appears. but the bar shows hemo. i tried, and tried, and tried, but i couldn´t find a solution.
I don't know if this has been said/asked before, but since this thread's pages are quite a lot to read, I'll just ask it:
I decided to use Bartender3 today, and I have an issue with it. The new 2.0 macro system allows to create macros acting differently depending on the mouse button you click them with(for example left click power word: fortitude, right click prayer of fortitude).
Actually using Bartender3 all of those mouse buttons macros are simply ghost icons. I assume this is because of the function the mod has of rightclicking for selfcast. But I think that should be an option you might want to take, not *have* to take, making part of the wow macro system useless.
I'd like to know if there is a way to get over this maybe, so that I can get my macros back to work, or if the author intends to fix this bug, since I like the semplicity of this mod :)

Answered many times. ;) Change [button:1] to [button:S01] and [button:2] to [button:S02] in your macros. [button:3] is not supported though.

It sounds like your keybindings are probably set the to default (Blizzard) action bars rather than the BT3 action bars.
I've a problem with the display of the hotkeys: I don't see them! However, the hotkeys are working perfectly. Though that's pretty useless, because I can't always remember all of them.
I'm using a German client. I tried with the latest BT3 Versions, both the development and the official wow-interface releases. No Hokteys show up. The Option for each bar is activated. I tried with BT3 only (all other addons deactivated). No difference. The hotkeys show up on the standard Blizzard bars.
Could you please look into that? A quick fix would be appreciated very much!
First off - great mod. I just switched over from Bongos - also a great mod but a little too complex for what I want to use it for. The only issue I have is with the hotkey text for each icon. Countdowns show up as does a macro name but simple hotkey symbols don't. I tried toggling the option for this but nothing changed. Am I missing something ?
Directly bind macros, spells and abilities to a button. Also, check the reply by Antiarc for the Bartender3_AutoBindings he put up on SVN to automatically display the macro text on BT3. :)
It seems the behavior when using modifier keys to change pages has changed in a recent revision. Previously, it used to work like this: If I had bar 1 set to switch to page 3 when holding ctrl down, then releasing ctrl would make bar 1 switch back to whatever previous page I was on. Now it always switches back to page 1 of bar 1. Is this a bug, because it rather limits the usefullnes of paged bars.
I have a question. Is it safe to set a bar to switch to a disabled page to basically "hide" that bar when you switch? For example, I have bar with buffs/heals that I hide when in Bear/Cat/etc. Or should I just hide the bar that I "switch" to?

how do you explain this ?
...
Anyway i give up, I probably don't explain well.
Back in the days bartender was insanely great for that, it's not the case anymore, Bartender is still a very good addon, not on this tho.
If you guys are seeking for reactivity, trinity bars is just completely insane, they really did a great job
I'm using TB atm, until BT gets its bugged worked out. It's wonderful BUT it's a monster memory hog. :(

"Interface\FrameXML\Cooldown.lua:4: attempt to call method 'SetCooldown' (a nil value)"
anyone know how to fix it ? :(
'nod nod' and also when would dreamlayout be applied to the petbar as well??
