I have button paging set to flip bar 1 to a different bar for each modifier key. I have keybinds set so that while holding the key it will activate the button on the appropriate bar.
I have those other bars disabled since paging switches to them. However, in the last couple days I have do enable and re-disable those bars on every login or UI reload in order for Bartender3 to honor the keybindings. It's as if it ignores disabled bars until they're toggled, which totally defeats the purpose of paging.
When you use ANY Action Bar AddOn, you obviously need to worry about your Keybindings. And no, there is no option in the Bartender Menu, its in the default Keybindings UI, just scroll down to the Bartender3 part and bind your keys there.
Seriously, i dont get why no one manages to do that on their own.
So this means that when I switch stances I have to use different numbers? When I bind 1 through + to Bar2, I lose it from Bar1, which makes sense logically, or you'd have every number trying to do multiple things. If I just leave the bindings on Bar1, I have the same problem with it still trying to do moves from bear form. How do you make it work like the default Blizzard bars where the same number does a different spell depending on your stance? It can't be how it seems to me now, because I can't believe people use 120 keys on the keyboard for all of their spells.
And I didn't manage to do it on my own because I've never had to do anything with keybindings before I got this mod.
After my previous 'keybindings no works' I thought I should mention that today it all comes online as it should be. The more I think about it, I m inclined to believe that previous 'failures' were probably due to not exiting the game properly after possibly making changes.

Your first post said that you hadn't changed your keybindings from the default ones when changing from the default UI to Bartender3. That's where you went wrong you need to go to blizzard's keybinding interface find the Bartender3 section and set the keybindings for "Bartender3 Bar 1 Button X" in the same way that you have them set on blizzard's bars before. This will also unbind the blizzard default actions and will fix your problem.

A workaround I just found is to enable the bars that the paging flips to, but set them to hidden. This used to not work because you could still click the hidden buttons, but since that was fixed it's now a viable workaround.
stanceswitching (as warrior, thats all i can say ^^)works now perfectly as it was in bar2, if u are on bar 2 and switch stance and you changing bar for stances is 1 you now correctly stay at bar 2 !
Go to BarTender3.lua in your SavedVariables folder and correct the numbers in there - it's what I did. (backup first in case you break it for some reason)
Steve
What numbers do I have to change where?
I lined up the bars as close as I could in WoW then quit and changed the numbers so they aligned with the bar I wanted them to align with. If you look in the Bartender3 saved variables file you'll see something like this:
There will be more than just BAGS in the SpecialBars section and more than just bar 6 in the Bars section. Change the numbers after PosX and/or PosY to fine tune the bars.
Steve
P.S. do not forget to back the file up first otherwise you will lose it all if you accidentally remove a " or } or something.
Ok, having some trouble with this. I switched from CTBar, so I had no saved bindings on my bars, although the spells stayed on the bars. I am trying to get the autoswitching when I chance stances (I'm a druid), but it's not working.
I have the keys set under the "Bartender3 Bar X" keybinds section of the normal blizz keybinding area. There are no bindings in my default blizz action bar area.
I have the paging option "Enabled" on bar 6 (my main bar, don't ask. Keybindings are 1 to =) and set to (for example) switch to bar 4 when I go into cat form. Since this didn't seem to be working, I went ahead and bound that bar to ctrl+1 to = . When I go to cat form nothing happens. To use my feral skills I have to press control+button, can't use just numbers.
What's wrong?
Ok, I'm withdrawing my complaint. For some unfathomable reason, I went out last night, came back tonight, and suddenly my bar switches when I switch forms. YAY! (Now I don't have to have 5 bars on my screen all the time. :D)
This is an odd feature request, but I believe this could significantly cut down screenspace issues.
Would it be possible to allow players to take bars, and reduce them to a single button, that when moused over, would reveal the rest of the bar(in whatever formation they like)? Or even further, disable certain buttons normally that show up only on mouseover. This could provide easy access to dozens of often used abilities that you don't exactly need to pay attention to the cooldowns on(for example, as a Warrior, I don't need to know at a constant rate that my charge cooldown is over, or if I have enough rage for this or that, as I have the rage req memorized).
A way to even make this better, is to make the primary mouseover button change what is being viewed, depending on the button press- no key could be assigned to this "primary button", but it would be a part of a bar where, upon hitting the key for, say, the 3rd ability, the 3rd ability's icon, with corresponding requirement/cooldown information being conveyed, would show up, but then hitting the 1st again would reveal the 1st button's icon with corresponding requirement/cooldown information, allowing you to check cooldowns without much work.
I know its an odd request, but I think it could really free up tons of screenspace, and be a excellent addition to the mod.
And for the inevitable requests to "go make my own mod", I would, but learning to program in LUA isn't exactly something thats easy to learn like out of a book.
Since build 22218 i dont see the bindings on the buttons anymore. Returning to build 21904 solves the problem. Can this be solved or is it me who is doing something wrong?
Would it be possible to overlay the binding for a key on the empty buttons when dragging around an icon? It only shows up when you actually place an icon on the button (unless changed in a very recent release).
I really like bt3 now .. but lately I have an issue .. sometimes when I reload my ui I loose all keybindings .. don't know if its bt3 but its annoying.. :)=
i got a problem with my druid.
When i switch form from caster to bear, there's no problem. But when i want to switch to cat, the bar won't switch, it stays on the same bar.
Hmm.. could the "castbar" be included into the Bartender3 package?
Currently it appears on top of my buttons (which i keep in the center bottom of my screen)
and jumps up and down a bit.. its really weird..
it would make sense (imo at least) to add the cast"bar" into "bar"tender :)
Also, it'd be nice if we could display the time left until cast completion (much like CT_core does it), so i can dump CT_core from my addons as well.
Setting the scale for the XP bar is nice. but doesn't really accomplish what i'd like to see.
Could we get an option to set the width + height for the XP bar instead of the scale?
that would make it a lot more useful, as you could fit it under your player portrait, and still be able to read it.
currently 10% is such a thin line that it's simply not readable.
This option would still be great btw ;)
Didnt see anyone comment on it earlier.
maybe it should be a seperate ace2 addon... hard to say.

Maybe it was the Y2K6 problem or something. ;)
so yea, THANKS BT3! (Best mod ever. :D)
Does not work with Bartender. IF I change the button:1 to button:S01 and button:2 to button:S02, it doesn't work either.

and I must confess that I second that. Could we pleeeaaase get this feature, somehow? /beg
