Would it be possible for the mod to remember the names of the healers as well and not only the assignments and if the said healer is not found then it would pick another one of their class. Sort of like the raid template addon.
I'd love to see the number of healers per assignemnt increased. I'm using Healing Groups Suck at the moment and this looks pretty much the same. HGS allows 8 I think.
Very nice. I have to agree though, more than 4ppl might be helpful on some fights. What I'd also love to see are custom assignments that allow you to add some text (per saved template), aka instead of assigning some healers to MT3 I could add something like "dps until you're called" or "spot renew/rejuv raid healers" or "shield duty".
EDIT: seems as this feature is already implemented after reading the description again. my bad. :)
In our raid we used Heal Factory as healer assignement tool. It is small en very handy, but is missing some features. Unfortunately the developer doesn't update the mod anymore :(
I have the following ideas some are from Heal Factory others are just ideas.
- Healers my ask the assigner which task they have. Simmilar to the ndkp ingame addon, where i can ask who bit on an item. Whisper a command to the heal assigner an it automaticaly responds my task.
- Add an MT target button which creates automaticaly Groups with the Names of all MT targets
- Add a feature to whisper the assignements not to spam the raid/guild channel
- Add a button for creating a group with the name of my target, a feature of Heal Factory. Or some kind of drag and drop funktionality in the UI to make assignements faster.
And know copying features from other mods is not very nice, but some features are really good of Heal Factory. And to be honest i don't know whats planned in the future for Heal Organizer also i don't know the funktionality of the actual version. I had a look into the first version, where i miss the mentioned features.
I have couple feature requests though :)
-- Sometimes you need to assign 1 healer per 1 mage (e.g. Nef p3, trashes to heigan, spider wing trashes in naxx) and i found it's bit complicated to manuallly enter names of all mages.
Would be sooo imba to be able to drag'n'drop names from raid tab OR (i htink it's a bit simplier) just add little button (like in SWstats) "Take from target"
-- uhm, sometimes 6(5?) healer spots for each target isn't enough :[ (ex. Twins, Patchwerk, depends on tactic though) so it'd be nice if for example i make 2 groups: MT1 and MT1 and assign healers for both in assignments it would be like this: MT1 healers from group 1, healers from grooup 2
P.S. Sorry for my english, I hope you got what i mean ;)

Since you can change the labels there should be no problem. Just change the second Label to MT1, maybe even to "MT1 (grp1)" and "MT1 (grp2)" and it will become:
Added the tokens %MT1% to %MT10% for the labels. They become MT1 or MT1(playername) if they can read the MT from CTRaid. Are there other tokens needed? (Maybe even from/for other addons...)
Any thoughts on haveing the set management remember the actual groups based on name/class?
Further, the more and more I use this, the more I'd like an AutoFill function after I label the MTs.

I use oRA2, for me it did not work, can anyone else check this? I don't know if it's needed to add oRA2 support or if it works already with the CTRA MT's.

Nope, not just you. Currently it does not work with oRA2. Hopefully we can get that support, or maybe it is just changing the variable?
One thing I'd like to ask for again, is for the saving of the healing groups themselves-not just MTs with the priority of name, then class. Last night in Naxx I found myself logging toons for various reasons and I kept finding myself having to redo all the healing groups - just downtime for the raid. Progman, I understand you want to keep this mod simple, if this is beyond the scope you want it maybe someone can branch it? Thanks.
Gotta say I would also love to be able to save the actual healers that are assigned. That way I can do out healing assignments for the entire run at the start and just load and broadcast them as needed.
I'm planning the autofill feature with class-per-group setup. Now I need ideas how you would change/add/remove a class-slot for the groups, so the autofill feature can put for example a paladin into a paladin-slot. Dropdowns, Drag'n'Drop, Scrollbars,...? I have already an idea, but maybe someone got a better one.
I have implemended the autofill function into the addon. Change the slots with the mousewheel. You can cycle throught empty, priest, druid, paladin/shaman, empty. If it works correct I'll release it as v1.1 on curse-gaming.
I remove the checkboxes for the remains and add an editbox, where you can enter user-defined messages for the remains.
Since the set-system has been change you will maybe get several errors when you load sets. Simple delete and recreate them. The labels, the slotclasses and the remain-msg-text are saved and loaded.
I look forward to testing this out later tonight (I can't right now :(). Few questions though because I can't test...
For autofill, do you have to specify the class or can you leave it empty? Meaning if I have 4 assigned MTs, I should have 4 healing groups. Can I just hit Autofill? Or does each group need to be set-up first with >Priest>Druid, etc.
Do the slot assignments of priest, druid, paladin/shaman,empty save to the sets? If not that could be cool, I doubt it would add too much to the savedvariables, it's just a table really. That way a saved set could have the total layout, one would just have to set up MTs and hit autofill.
Also, how about a keybind for the BroadcastChan and BroadcastRaid functions so one could easily respam total groups without opening the dialog box and hitting the respective button. Or how would you set this up for a macro?
edit: looks like the save for group classes is there?
When using the wheel button to configure classes, English translation for Priest, Shaman, Druid isn't correct - easy fix in enUS.lua
I had a few times when Autofill wouldn't fill all the way, I had to hit it twice to do the last spot. Was inconsistent though.
Also, some of the English translation might need some tweaking for the whispers, "You didn't dispose" and "You are disposed to" should be more like "You are not assigned" and "You are assigned to %s"
Still looking it over for some other suggestions...

You need to setup the slots first. It was the easiest implementation like "look for a free X and put it in there". I don't know if I add such labels like "Any" or even "No-Pala", "No-Priest", ...

You can't (or better shouldn't). Sure you can call HealOrganizer:BroadcastChan() and HealOrganizer:BroadcastRaid() but I dont know what happends if the lineup was changed since the last time the dialog was open.

Yes, I'll change them

This shouldn't happend, I go throught all slots and check if there is a free healer for this slot.

I haven't test the whisper-part by myself. But I'll change these strings.
