I am having a small problem with this mod... I have mulitple chat windows with all my Trade/Local/general in chat window 4. But when I use this mod, chat window 4 doesn't work even though those channels are still selected.
I noticed this as well. I have various channels in chat windows 3-6, and for a while they were always empty. It seemed to get fixed by disabling the antispam module, but then I noticed that happened again, so it seems to be some kind of intermittent thing.
Anyone figure out a fix for this? I'd like to use the antispam module. But I have separate windows for guild only, private channels only, raid only, and "noisy" (general/trade), but they are all blank when antispam is enabled.
I just installed SCM but I noticed that I'm not getting shortened channel names for General, Trade, World Defense and maybe others (shows [General], [Trade] and [WorldDefense] in the chat window). I get G, P and LD for guild, party, and local defense respectively. Any ideas?
Just a small request unfortunely tried to find a way to code it always failed -.-
Just would like to know if it could be possible to add DND AFK GM tags with instead <>. That would just be the thing i would like to see^^
ok named it "scmFlags" dunno if it well purged or written (think so) its from vChat without all the options around so small and clean. Maybe could merge with another module or stay as new one. Again am not coder at all -.-
sorry, i'll try to be more clear. when i log into the game, the class colored names are not colored (guild mates, friends, /who, etc). it takes a /reload ui, and then all the class colored names are colored.
whenever i switch characters it repeats, and i have to /reload ui to enable the class colors (in chat).
if this isn't making any sense (and its most likely not), don't worry about it. i love this mod and many of the others you author.
I noticed something odd while trying to make a new chat window to display my tells - if I have SimpleChatMods enabled, nothing is displayed in the window no matter what channels I tell WoW to display. It seems like only my main chat window and my combat log are working. If I disable SCM, they work fine. If there a line I can to add to my myconfig.lua to enable additional chat windows in SCM?
I'm still not sure what was causing this problem, but I found a work-around: If I set SCM_JUSTIFY_CHANNEL in myconfig.lua, my new chat tabs begin functioning properly. I'm really not sure why that setting should make a difference though.
One thing I noticed while trying to debug my tab problem: the Disable functions for the different modules do not seem to function as expected when called from myconfig.lua. Rather than resetting the chat output to Blizzard defaults, they use the settings in config.lua. Examples: disabling scmTimestamps still diplays the time stamps without any brackets in grey. Disabling scmChannelnames still shortens the channel names using the rules in config.lua.
I'd like to help, dyree, but I don't use ANY of the config system stuff myself, config.lua or myconfig.lua or what it's called.
That's the whole idea, I made the addon how I like it myself, and the defaults are how I want them, the config stuff was added by others because they wanted to use my addon as well, but not have the same layout as me. I was not involved in creating the config, really, and have no idea how it works.
From what I can see in the TOC, config.lua is loaded before myconfig.lua, which should suggest that anything put in myconfig.lua would overwrite and take precedence over anything in config.lua.
