I'm not really sure how I'll do the vendor information yet to be perfectly honest. The first implementation of it will be when I add the vendors to the reputation items, then I can go from there.
Few minor bugs. I'm using skillet now, instead of ATSW, as I always wanted a see-thru tradeskill window that had the same features of ATSW.. Now I got it. =D
The scroll up button is disabled, even after scrolling down.. I have to use the mouse to scroll up..
---
After closing the arl window, and then doing /arl guiscan again, I can't scroll at all, in either direction, even with the mouse, it looks like the window loses it's attachment after closing it (see next one as well)
---
If I open something up like the honor pane, the scan window attaches to that new pane, and I am able to move the arl window around again, as well as the text not staying attached to the window when I move it..
---
Once the window is movable, when I click one of the plus signs, the info for the recipe comes out, but it doesn't bump the text below it down.
---
Closing the tradeskill window should close the ARL window as well
---
Hitting escape to close the tradeskill window, should close the ARL window also
---
(not sure if it applies) Recipes that are difficult (meaning have to buy from neutral ah), or impossible to obtain for alliance/horde should either not show up if player is of that faction, or should at least be so noted.
---
Once when clicking the close button, the text disappeared, but not the window, and when I clicked it a 2nd time, I got:
Message: ..\AddOns\AckisRecipeList\AckisRecipeList.lua line 3508:
attempt to index global 'AckisRecipeListFrameCloseButton' (a nil value)

AckisRecipeList\AckisRecipeList.lua:3485
AckisRecipeList\AckisRecipeList.lua:3560:

To be more specific, I opened the BS tradeskill window, typed /arl guiscan, then clicked close, and that is what happened.

I can't think of anything else right now.. Sorry for the long list, and I know a lot of those may be related to using skillet..
I also just thought of a feature request that might be useful.
If its possible, could you print the results of the latest scan for each profession to log files in the addon folder, or where ever, so that we could have an offline version of the results. I think this might be useful so that people can look things up when they're out of the game.
Just downloaded it and went to try it out. When I do a /arl all I get is "Type '/help' for a listing of a few commands." Any ideas why the /arl isn't getting caught and processed?
Maybe already mentioned, but i scanned my e.g enchantskillwindow and there are Formulas shown as missing recipes, although there exist actually. Is this a bug or working as intended?
edit: damn - this forum seems to dislike the german umlauts - you know ... the a umlaut etc
what could i do?
for the time being i'll write "AE" for the a umlaut and "UE" for the u umlaut (those with the 2 dots on top)
You could do what a lot of people do with \xxx .. I'm not sure where they find the xxx number tho for each character, but it must be documented somewhere.
Interesting, I didn't get mail messages regarding the reply to this thread. =/
I added a few new features recently.
The big change to the mod involves backend stuff and localizations. I've moved all the recipe names from my own localization to Babble-Tradeskill which should help other authors. (CK gave me the *thumbs up* for it :P). Hopefully it'll also get a few more translations out there for the recipe names. ;) To those who are translating it, I can make the modifications if you wish.
I've also added a status bar which gives you a visual display of how many recipes you have/are missing... Tried to add a border tonight and failed miserably at it.
There's now a scan button which should attach to the tradeskill windows. This will pop-up a guiscan window on that tradeskill for you.
There's also a tab at the bottom of the window which does nothing now, but will be used for in the future.

Frozen Shadoweave Vest should be Frozen Shadoweave Robe
Wishlist. Some of my toons don't have many recipes so everything scrolls out of sight and cannot be found again. The guiscan isn't happy on my config with text lines opening and obscuring other lines and it being all pretty illegible. Suggestion: either a filter to scan x y which just tells you the missing recipes from skill level x to skill level y - and therefore lets you chunk it up. Or output to a text file?
Did the changes to the gui fix this scrolling issue?

Not sure about a log, but one of the future implementations will save the recipes between sessions, so they will be there in a saved variables file. I could probably do an export type function which dumps it all into a window like Prat does, and you could easily copy and paste it from there.

Right now there's a known bug that if you have a header collapsed it won't register the recipes under it. Or it could be a localization problem (are you enUS?)

hi, to get the german translation started (im bored atm)
i post the translations for first aid / smelting (because they are short ^^)
if you find typos you can have em ;)
and a question btw: why not make use of some sort of translation libraries like babble? (afaik those are translation libraries?)
** SNIP **
edit: well, used the codes for the german umlauts now - took em from another addon (babble ;))
I've been using Babble for as much as I can, however it didn't have the recipes in it until I added them today. :) Going to add your german localizations to it here in a few minutes. Thanks for the translation :D

I haven't had problems with it attaching to another pane. If you're doing this multiple times in a session, it's probably my close function again.

I'll implement this in the next batch up updates. I think I originally made a design decision to not do this, but after using the gui, it's kinda annoying that it doesn't close.

Doesn't it do this already? I have a horde/alliance flag, and a filter which actually works.

Not a problem, and I don't think any of them were related to using skillet at all. The only thing I can think of that will be a problem with these kind of mods is where the window is positioned (you and I talked about this a bit on IRC and ATSW) and where the scan button will be positioned. I'm not going to worry about them just yet, I want to get the gui finished first, but it won't be too difficult to plug into ATSW or Skillet. The one that's worrying me is Manufac. :P
Ackis, you are filling Babble-Tradeskill with strings that have no place there. You should use PeriodicTable "Tradeskill.Recipe.*" tables to get the name of recipes, or "Tradeskill.RecipeLinks.*" for the corresponding spell link.
If you really feel like you need to construct a huge translation table, do not use Babble-Tradeskill that as another purpose.

I cleared it with Ck before making any modifications to BTS. I would've presumed I would have gotten a no go from him if it wasn't allowed/intended purpose.
~2K English strings kept in memory just for needing BT["First Aid"] seems like a huge waste.
Babble-Tradeskill is usefull because it contains the translation of Tradeskill spell names, so that any addon that want to cast any of the tradeskill spell can get the localized string from it. Keeping All tradeskill recipe names takes a lot more space. Remember that non-english has to keep in memory the english and the localized version, so that's twice the space wasted for us.
All this for information you can ask on the fly from the item cache... It really seems like a waste.
Jerry, those were exactly my thoughts about it, and why I talked to Ck before doing anything.
I wasn't sure if it would be better to create new libraries for each trade skill (ie: Babble-Tradeskill-Alchemy), toss them into BTS, just create a new library Babble-Tradeskill-Recipes, etc.
The rational for adding them involved looking at Babble-Spells which has a boatload of information in it.

I'll rephrase : Why do you feel the need to have this strings when you can request them using the API, and thus only need to keep a list of numbers, or better, use the already existing and automatically updated list provided by PeriodicTable ?
just got...rev 53044 without externals from the aceupdater
no msg other than the standard type 'help' for a list...
Can you list all of your addons please? This has to be some sort of conflict. Also, try disabling all addons, except for ARL and Ace2 (the depends will be re-enabled by Ace2).
