fish shows that the externals are set properly, the normal download link on the files site has the lib included. the embeds.xml file has the reference in it properly, the latest-noext.xml has the dependancys set properly.
so if your still having issues that your downloading / installing it wrong.
and all else fails... install automation.. hehe...
I hate to ressurect this thread, but I am having this exact same issue and it only began since I used wowupdater to update my addons with externals. does anyone have any suggestions? when I remove the specific referenced addon, another addon cascades a lib error and so on and so on.
i just want the glaze texture for the addons pitbull and aloft
therefor i installed "SharedMedia" and "SharedMediaLib" in wow/interface/addons
after that i got ingame this error message:
../SharedMedialib/Libs/AceEvent-2.0/AceEvent-2.0.lua:21: AceEvent-2.0 requires AceOO-2.0
then i copied AceOO-2.0 from pitbull to ../SharedMedialib/Libs but the error occurs furthermore
any idea?

Easiest way to fix it is just to download Ace2 standlone and install it as a normal addon.
