I found two links to two converters. However neither are up to date and say in the toc 11000 for the version so WOW says they are "Incompatable" and will not load it even with "Load out of date addons" checked.
Does anyone know a website for Derkyle that has an updated version?
ItemSync remains the king of low resource, efficient item databases that aren't dependent on your cache. But Derkyle has been MIA since April. There have been a couple updates to ItemSync by other authors since then to keep it fully functional through the current WoW 2.3 patch, though. To get the latest version, use WowAceUpdater (or the Java/Mac equivalent), a SVN client or download direct from here: http://files.wowace.com/ItemSync/ItemSync.zip.
As to Saeris's LootLink, it uses a different database format than Telo's LootLink does, thus the "latest" converter (v7) won't work with it. That's assuming the converter even still works with the latest WoW or ItemSync versions, which is unlikely.
Best bet is to install "ItemSyncDB" with the latest ItemSync, which will give you a starting database of 57,135 items (including early BC items). And then spend a few weeks scanning the AH and adventuring to acquire more.

You would be correct sir it does not work... I have always wanted to write my own mods, and Ace has such a large comunity... Is there a turorial somewhere here? I think I would need to learn how to get variables from mods, how to compare values, and how to display text in the chat window to start.
I'd highly (highly) recommend installing & importing the previously mentioned, working ItemSyncDB if you are starting out with ItemSync. You will then have over 57000 pre-BC and original BC items (which is more than your Saeris LootLink (SLL) currently has). Within a short time, you will automatically pick up post-2.1 items.
If you really want to delve into making a mod to convert SLL to ItemSync databases...its not going to be easy. You'll need to find out the format of SLL & ItemSync databases, call functions to convert & so on. There is a reason only original authors of mods make converters ;).
I went ahead and loaded the ItemSyncDB as a new user looking to populate it. Everything is in there and the updater worked great but now my memory usage jumps from 31mb to 60mb when I click Itemsync in game and there's a solid 10 second freeze/delay when this is done.
Am I to believe this is normal/acceptable load for the addon? The whole point of ditching Lootlink was the insane usage which was taking up 20mb or so but this appears to be worse. Though I'll admit it doesn't load until you click it so as long as I don't use Itemsync on a given logon, it wont use up that memory.
